That was it, in and out within an hour. SLDL are coming along very nicely went down touched the top of the shoes, paused for a one count, then came back up. Gotta build a platform or some thing since the thinger we use is a clusterfuck. Went on to do some heavy stuff for the back, really wanted to do BOR but the lower back was a little fried. It was a good day, not great......the need to get stronger, bigger, and more athletic is growing more and more each day. Gotta let it out sooner than later

Damn good night, 565 was smooth with a nice 1 count pause in the hole. Was able to keeps the knees apart and stayed tight. That puts me closer to 585 which is a goal that I want, and once I reach that 600 is right around the corner. Was told my someone there that I have to be a powerlifter since I train with heavy weights with complete disregard for my body....haha. Didn't catch his name but he knows the Nazarath crew. Did some leg press to get more work in and the iso stuff was to get the blood flowing.

Thanks boar, gotta keep it going upwards progressing each session. I think all of the added deadlift work is helping the squat and all of the squat work is helping the deads. Its great how everything works in one big circle to get big

Here is what I would do, this helped me not only pack on some meat but got be out of a rut as well. Only did two exercises for chest, that was it. If I did flat presses then I did incline flies and the same was true for incline presses and flat flies. The rep scheme went something like:
Press: 1x15, 1x12, 1x10, 1x6-10, 1x5-3, 1x5-1, 1x5-1, 1xfaliure, 1xfaliure (these were lighter than last heavy set)
Flies - 4x15-4
I would also try maybe this approch if you like to do a little more work:
Flies - 4sets 10-6
DB Press - 4sets 10-6
BB Press (if shoulder can handle it) - 4x10-1
With this one if you do flat flies then do flat DB press and finish with incline press
This gets applied tonight. I'll post results tomorrow in my journey. Thanks again bro.

BOR = bent over row. I felt this one today pretty damn good. Hams nice and tight plus when I walked everything was sore.....its all good....as far as attempting SLDLs how bad is your back? Does other shit aggravate it? Can you deadlift? I think with SLDLs like all other lifts if you ease into them with no problems, do them light and with correct form they will have a nice effect. But listen to your body and go with that

Good session, wanted to flat bench but they were all taken up, thought bench day was Monday not Wed....must have missed that memo. Anyway hoped on the incline and went to try and move some respectable weight. I think the 345 is a PR, but I am not sure. The pause flat bench was great, did it tired and a little fatigued which is good for me. Got to be mentally tough as well as physically. Flies and dips to get some more work in.....

The Pin Lockouts were done at my sticking point with is a little lower than a 1/4 squat. The point of the exercise was hammered home, teach the body how to strain under heavy weight. Finished up with the Rev Hacks to get some bloodflow into the legs. The gym is a pretty damn good method of therapy......

that is one hell of a drop Wides. Im liking box squats..did 185 for reps the other day. Im not too keen on our squat rack at this gym I train at (WOW at Menlo Mall..ever there?) I seriously miss my old racks where I used to train. I dont like these racks with the hooks...you know what I mean? They are on the benchpress too...it seriously throws me off.
I always love to come into your journey before I train..even though Im hitting it a bit lighter these days, you def light a fire under my ass and i get head pumped to kick my own ass.
Looking good as always! Cant wait to see you at some future gathering once again.

Was nice and deep felt it all through the hips and hams. I know how you feel on the squat rack, thats the one I squatted in yesterday the hooks really mess when you unrack it and you tend to get unbalanced. Yes, I am looking forward to the future gatherings as well, knowing how the Northeast is there will be plenty of them. Nice to have you back.

Hahaha.....you know me all to well being a nutcase. It gets worse when I train alone. Cut off the left arm yeah that would be a first....500lb single arm deadlift ever. Yes Monday things back to normal and i agree Here's to Stupid....its working thus far!

I am feeling these today and its a nice feeling. Calves are even sore (please grow). No growling while that last heavy set was going on, I'm not one for making noise when I train just lift it and get the job done. Let's hope this getting stronger stuff lasts a long while here

Thanks Jim, I think all of the chain work is paying off big time. Yes pin lockouts are very easy, just set the pins to whatever height you want, place the bar there load it up, get under it and squat up. helps the body deal with strain and handling heavy weights

those shrugs are nuts man.
I really like them as a pre-exhaust for shrugs and they hit the rear delts nicely. It switches up the mondane rear delt flies. IMO strong shrugs = a strong pull and helps finish the lift nicely

Update on feeding habits:
Going to be keeping the protein the same but throttling back on the carbs and eating more rabbit food. Going to combine what carbs I eat with the rabbit food so that they taste better. Should be interesting to see how this plays out

I have been itching to do it again.....maybe this week I'll give it a whirl and see where it stands. I would like to have it in the low to mid 300s but it all depends on how my legs are doing that day. But knowing me I'll find a way to get a big number.

One more tip, throw some underhand close grip sets in too. They are a power move and allow you to get a few more in once you are fatigued from the Wide grip sets. Plus, they help to build and widen the lower lats. And that = a Wider Wides ;)

Yes the playground has been revolting against me....haha bring it fuckers. As they look in the mirror I just keep adding weights and doing what I do. Doesnt even matter cause half of the mirrors are hung wrong anyway.....pulling from the floor next week and with Monday being Labor Day might push it back to Tuesday so that the BBQ bloat to good use

Smooth day today, the 365 set moved extremely nicely and was able to power through the sticking points. Chains are good, the 370 I got off the chest and stalled 3 inches off the chest, there is always next time. I was able to stay nice and tight throughout plus the lat flex was there helping along. I set up to do steep incline in the smith as my last exercise however someone came up to me wanting to know how many sets I had left. He wanted to flat bench, all were taken in the place so I kindlly gave him the smith rack so that he could do his pressing. To me its no big deal he was very nice about it, thanked me and went about his session....thats being hardcore in my book helping out those who want to train but can't because of the lack of equipment and over aboundance of idoits in a gym.

thanks bro, I'm just going into the gym each session with a clear mind, and a strong will to work hard. Don't know if its the way I was raised with doing things the right way with proper work ethic or knowing that I am lucky enough to get to train where there are others who cant for whatever reason.

Nice pressin man! You should take bigger jumps when you work up. You took 4 sets working up 30lbs...You should do that work up in 2 sets...of course that is assuming your speed is good. Either way, Killer work. I think you should be good for 375-385+chains though.

Thanks bro, I will admit my jumps were not big by any means. The last time I did these I did very well with 345+chains for a single and bombed on 365+chains so I at least wanted to get 365+chains for a least a single. Speed was there, I was tight on the bench, and kept the arch through the movement. I will return to these in two weeks and def take your advice to make bigger jumps

thanks Hg, chains are great tool to use they take a while to get used to but once you find a groove its all good. It also helps mentally since all you see on the bar is the normal weight so you know you can get it, just at the top of the movement its about 45lbs heavier than it is

Meal 2 - 8 oz flank steak, 1/2 cup brown rice, 1/2 cup 16 bean mix
Meal 3 - 4oz flank steak, 4oz chicken, 1/2 cup brown rice, 3/4 cup 16 bean mix
Meal 4 - 8 oz chicken, 1/2 cup brown rice, 1/2 cup broc

I enjoy getting smug looks when I unrack the weight and squat down, however when I stand up with the bar and it looks like it wants to take off those looks turn into "Oh Shit". The smug look came from some lovley indvidual who was all wrist wrapped, belted for a front military set that I can hit for an easy 5 with just my sack. The 405 was to get used to squatting without chains and the Zerchers were added for more fun! Got two more sessions this week, gotta make them count

I have tossed the idea around....for me to do that at the standards I have for myself I am gong to have to re-learn to be athletic again and drop some poundage. Wouldn't rule me out of it though

Do you get severe bruising after squats. My left shoulder..right behind it has this big black and blue from the bar. It's causing shoulder problems. I have to take some time off to let the area heal because its in pain here and there.

The most I get on my shoulders after squatting is a red line where the bar was. Not so much brusing, have you tried different bar postions on your back (higher or lower than were you have been placing it). Thats the only thing I can think of right now or if you have access to an SSB you can still squat since the bar doesnt rest on the shoulders. But I would play around with the positioning of the bar on your back on a non squat day to see what is comfortable

get your elbows up higher, it makes the catch eaiser. Also I am a big advocate of using just a broomstick on non training days to hammer home any form of an exercise

thanks Mike, the push press I do out of a rack it makes it easier. the clean and press I do as well along with the clean and jerk.....it was just that my legs were too fried from Thursday to do any cleans

No worries, would rather have this happen now then later. Went on did some accessory work to save the session.....legs come thursday

You shouldnt have any problem hitting depth with knee wraps on...I can go ATG with wraps with only 135 on the bar...they wont hinder depth at all.
Instead of griping the bar as normal, you just reverse your grip like a reverse grip pulldown. Hits the long head of the tricep well
Scary, I'll have to try that with reduced weight sometime to see how it feels. Thanks bro.

Yes that is what I am chalking it up to, first time using wraps in about 6 years. The whole feeling just felt weird with the knees wrapped. I know I can do more as well, that is what was frustrating about last night but its all about getting used to the equipment that you use...if this was easy everyone would be a big squatter. On a positive note though the 545 felt not as heavy as it used to

I would also just do a light wrap, until you get used to them. Dont crank them down yet.

Thanks IRBS, yeah that was my problem on the first set they were wrapped to tight. The best squat was done with the sloppiest, loosest wrap of the night. It will take me a while to get used to them but I am sure once I get the hang of it, then I can start to fully utlize them to their full potential. Took me a while to get used to squatting with a belt so I know things take time to adjust to

nice, im doing a meet next october. i wanna see if they hav teen divisions or not. i hope to hit a 600ish deadlift, 450ish squat and im not asking for much on the bench press cause im hurt now so if i can get back into it and maybe reach 300lbs, ill be happy!

Hey BW I also had a problem in the beginning. It took me like a month to learn how to use my belt....I made it so tight at times for a big lift and I just lost my breath. I didnt understand that you had to stick your belly out. I guess it all takes time. But I am positive your gonna hit a big one haha. Peace

Ok, well I wrapped my own knees which i know is a big no no but the last time i wrapped i did it myself....I probably much like your big self will start to add wraps into my training when apporiate to get used to them and learn how to use them. Went looking for openers last night, I feel comfortable with 530 so thats where it will start. With the 545 I think I was mentally shut off but a form issue was spotted by Juggernaut. Also this mutant on his last set pulled 405 for 5. The other work was done real slow and held the rep for a one to two count to get a nice squeeze so moderate weight was used. Putting the final touches into what I will be doing come Sept. 27, just gotta keep working and all will fall into place

Calf Raises - 6x12
The 350 bench was the smoothest its felt in a while with a pause on the chest....so theres the bench opener. The 365 moved off the chest, lost the arch midway and it went nowhere. The DB bench hammered home the idea to pause and fire everything at once. Juggernaut is working his way back with a vengance, making his mark on the comeback trail with each session.....prepping for big things to come

They were brutal and gave a nice stretch in the whole pec region. It did make the 90s heavier than they actually are, it was nice though to slow things down a bit chest is a tad sore this morning so that just means I get to eat more

I figured that theory has been used by the big boys, so in my attempt to become one of them I have adopted some of their theories.....food is the most anabolic thing out there, and whoever tells you different doesnt know what they are talking about

Hope thats good pain and discomfort and not something bad, which is never good. Last night was not about getting reps, it was all about finding that magical number to open with. Just laying down plans to build upon, cause without plans there would be chaos

On the last night of finding openers feeling damn good, it looks like its 545 was pretty damn easy. So my openers as of now are 545 on the squat, 345 bench, 530 on the deadlift....time to do some light work then rest up. Juggernaut hit a very nice 455 with ease tonight so he is back in full swing. As for the asterik, after a certain point in the session Juggernaut and I came up with some quality quotes that just simply puts what a leg session does to someone, these were all said after the 7pps set:
"Where the fuck am I?" - Wides
Juggernaut - "So Wides how did that feel?"
Wides' Response - Said no words but gave him two thumbs up
"I just burped up last week's dinner" - Juggernaut
"Haha, I am taller than you" - Juggernaut
"Walking like a pregant duck that had puppies" - Juggernaut

This is no lie and put into practice right away because I could not wait to add water and mix it.
Those lifts last night were total cake and actually kinda scary. Considering they were on like NO sleep too. Having fun being sore and eating tons today.....

No training updates, so I will give some feats of eating this week:
- ate 1 loaf of bread in two days
- 2lbs of bison lasted me 3 meals
- chowed down to a decent sized pork loin last night and came away with no leftovers
- made some Real Gains Ice Cream, that lasted 15 minutes
- Ate a Stouffers family sized portion (what the box said) of lasagna because I was hungry
- Tried the Tuna Shake again and remembered why I stopped doing them
Thats it, got shoulders and arms tonight

First Tuna Shake I did I was 17, we had a PLer come in and help us get our lifting schedule and routines squared away. He talked about nutrition and all that stuff, he mentioned the Tuna Shake and said it was a fast way to get food in. Well my thinking was "He lifts heavy things pretty easily and he does, so why not?" Of course being young and stupid has its benefits, but being older and just as stupid does not
