Well it was either the full moon out tonight or we were just having too much fun benching. Since the sets of doubles worked so well squatting, figured that it would work lovley for bench. After the paused 345 set figured go up by 5 lbs and see how that went, 9 sets later it was all good. Manged to stay at the same strength/stamina for the whole pressing (the set of 0 was when Juggernaut and myself wanted to make it harder, so I set up with my heels off the ground, no good). Whole upper body was pumped, abs were sore by staying tight throughout.....calf raises were done to get them fuckers growing and db presses to cap it off. There were points where either of us would burst out into laughter mid set as the pressing was going on. It was a soild night, a fun night and a very productive night.
I'll let Juggernaut fill you in on how he did.....lets just say 2009 is his year

thanks broc....it was feeling good so we just ran with it, towards the end I was getting tired so to prevent injury and go for the guts stayed with singles. I am just looking to improve and become more confident in my benching abilites, just gotta stay consistant and on course

Dude my chest is rocked.....and yes I have noticed that since we started this type of training I am getting hungier which means more food = more growth. Damn can't wait till legs on Friday

Good day today, a little fatigued from yesterday but still went in and got to work. The last set of militaries was done with a real good pause at the bottom then it was "meatheaded" up. Whole upper body was filled with tons of blood, arms were heavy, it was a good feeling. The rear delt movment was a struggle since the shoulders were toasted.....deadlifting tomorrow should be fun

thanks broc....arms are sore as hell today. I dont get to play with real weights at my gym so I figured what the hell, even if I didnt get a single rep at least I tried it. The struggle builds muscle as well

Dont know if it was an issue with the belt being to tight or what but it has to get squared away before I pull anything heavy

Yeah I'm just a tad hard on myself.....but I found something to exploit and it comes at a good time since I will be pulling sumo for the next two weeks (two weeks convential, 2 sumo) since they both compliment each other nicely. Good session tonight, the way warmups were going I thought it would have been a piss poor one. Took me till the second set of 355 to finally start to feel a groove and the weights feeling light. Need to take more time on my set up with the warmup sets so that when the heavy weights come I can go at them full bore. First time doing a drag curl and they felt damn good. Not a lot of weight being used but took them nice and slow, dont know how many sets of calves or flies were done but lets say chest is nice and stretched and I am still working on getting a launch pad for my hams on the squat. Legs on Friday.....WOOOHOOO

Did not think I was going to go that high, all of the warm-up sets felt heavy as shit but came into the 495 set and smoked it....the 585 is the heaviest I have had on my back since the 9/27, so it was good to get that up. Form work and to really hammer the hell out of the legs with the 405x5 set at the end. Knocking on the door of 600..... Lots of abs afterwards. Juggernaut was up to his old tricks again, making heavy weight look easy as usual. G was looking damn strong on the bench, a true iron warrior there.

We should have....it was a ton of work thrown into a short time frame. The dropset to start it off was intense. It was a fun session to say the least.

Not a bad session at all, I am not a sumo puller at all infact I had trouble with 315 last week so today was a good day. All sets were done with no belt at all, need all the ab work I can get plus it helps me to stay tight throughout the move. It was different pulling sumo lot more groin, hips, ass, and hamstrings but the stronger I get them the stronger my convential pulls and squats become. Moved to convential deads to get some extra work in and hammer home my new stance on them. Skulls were fun lots of heavy weight being used there and its only the beginning. Juggernaut was doing his thing on the deads making 455 look like a toy, and came close to the 495....he's getting his legs more into the movement which is scary.
Its going to be one hell of a winter......time to put what has been done behind and move forward. Got a lot of work to do and I like it that way

Solid pullin Wides! Sumo takes work, I prefer Conventional...Sumo is so technical that if you are off by an inch, you will miss it! LOL

thanks IRBS, it does take a lot of work I also prefer conventional can get more out of it. But I feel that alternating with 2 weeks of sumo and 2 weeks of convential the sumo will help the convential out a lot since more hip, hamstring and ass strength is needed. We shall see how it goes from here

Its something I really never thought to much into, but reading some things from Volgephel or however you spell it, that when your strong in one your going to be strong in the other. I know I can get 600 off the floor and locked out (hasn't counted in a meet due to a slight hitch) but fuck it I want big boy weights. I've gotta compete against freaks out there (an example would be McFly), so I have no choice but to get stronger and grow or sit in the shallow end of the pool playing with the water jet.

That is exactly why I keep Sumo pulls in the mix. It really stresses those hip muscles. Stronger hips = bigger Squat and pull...

I think of it this way...we are both WAAAAY weaker then most out there, that is just freaken scary. A short story long... I was attending an expo one time and in the diner I was in, this guy walks in with a lot (of what looked like fans and friends)... Not a huge dude but short/stocky and like 220lbs. Later on in the day at the PL meet, the same guy does a 900lb squat...nuff said.

yeah I am still kicking ass and getting mine kicked as well. Eating up is going to be a challenge but one well worth it, come to the feast there are plently of chairs for everyone to sit and enjoy.

Well we kinda went a tad nuts on the pressing.....however with the new split gotta make every session count and take it to extremes. Took me 3 sets of 365 to finally warm up and get going...form sucked donkey balls all night was all over the place each set, can't let that happen. Whole upper body is shot which is good, got two days to recover. Gotta get shit in order before the next pressing session.

Thanks IRBS, it was and by the end of it my triceps and elbows were fried. However since the frequency of hitting the muscle group is down we just have to hit it that much harder when we are in there.

Don't know how the rest of this week is going to play out, going day by day depending on how I feel. Don't want to fuck myself over since things are rolling well

Hot damn it felt great to be back, and what a way 31 reps of 405 to get things moving this week. It felt nice and good, each set and rep was a soild 1-2" below paralell. Kept the head up and drove out of the hole head first so not only was it a ball busting day it was also a tech. driven day as well. Feeling nice and sore already which is awesome, love this feeling. Did some abs to give the legs a rest then into shoulders. That was a taxing movement and required all the energy we had left to complete it. Which is a good thing, the body was taxed and wanted to quit, but a new threshold was established making us that much stronger. It was a nice way back to trainin after that week sickness.
Back in the lab and it was a damn good feeling, now I know how Dr. Frankenstein felt when he was creating his monster......

Thanks Firedrake, just doing what we can to get bigger than before. The whole idea behind last night's session as Juggernaut put it was to build muscle (hypertrophy) and get 405 to feel like 135. Judging from the DOMS both were accomplished

So yesterday I get this bright idea to do some cardio. Granted I need to do some and I felt my legs were up to it, and my thought process was "a little cardio is good to get the blood flowing"..... yeah I was completely wrong on that, afterwards the legs were tight. So, in my bright Einstein like moment leads me to believe I need to stop thinking. On the other hand I get to eat more which is good and I found my bands last night as well. I forget what the tension is on them but they are the green ones so I am thinking about 100lbs or so at the top.....

The Average Band (Green) Pair is about 120lbs at the top, so about 60lbs a piece. Of course, this all depends on how tall you are, how they are set up, etc. But, that tension is a good estimate.

Yeah you are right about that, thats the thing about bands but they are a great tool to use for any lift. I feel they really help mimic the correct way to find a natural groove when you lift and the fact that they are a ball buster can't be beat.

Yeah I had to, was getting a little to "Jolly" and I wasnt about ready to change what I eat or how I eat so I threw in some cardio. Its helping plus the staminia during training has increased as well....which is always good

Skull Crushers - barx15, 65x12, 95x10, 135x4, 135x5, 155x4
3 scoops Torrent, 9 OKG and a Brown Sugar Pop Tart PWO
Well I had the 585 off the floor cleared the knees and then it stopped. From thinking about it I did not get my hips forward at all during the pull or throw my shoulders back....the second set of 585 kicked me in the nuts. This was the first time I was handling heavy weight BUT THAT IS NOT AN EXCUSE, I've gotta lift the heavy weights, make them count as a rep before I can get anything done. This is a good session it gives me roughly 8 days to think about this session, let it sink in and get me fired up for the next one. The 585 will go down next time, can't be missing weights like this, its gotta get done. Did calves and tris afterwards to get the ball rolling on them and to help assist the other lifts as well.
Juggernaut had one hell of a pulling session, damn proud of what he did....but I will let him tell you about it

Thanks IRBS, yeah I know I did a lot of sets/reps, the 585 pull was one of those decisions where you pick a weight and try it. I figured I tried it a couple of weeks ago squatting and got it so lets give it a try on the deads. I know next time what my approach is going to be and I know I will be working on some form stuff in my free time to get it back

The 585 will go down next time, can't be missing weights like this, its gotta get done. Did calves and tris afterwards to get the ball rolling on them and to help assist the other lifts as well.

you know it, I've gotten 600 but not clean thats my short term goal is to pull 600 clean. Had a small hitch the last time but anything is possible when you put your mind to it. There are loads of dudes out there who wipe their nose with the weights I use, trying to make the weights heavy and my physique bigger

Eating lots of ground beef and pasta today.....back to work tonight in the gym, I'm ready to go at it again. Fully kicked the bug, got my appetitie back (local supermarkets shake in fear), so I'll be there tonight armed with Torrent and Pop-Tarts ready to do battle yet again. Got work to do, things to fix, and they aren't going to do it by themselves
You know, this 'Pop Tart' revelation happened just after my cheat meal had passed, literally down the pan.... And for the whole week i have been craving pop tarts due to the above post. Havent had sugar cravings for the duration of this evil cut, then this bombshell hit me. This sunday, somewhere between a greasy chinese banquet and lashings of Torrent, a pop tart or 5 will be making friends with my stomach.

Incline DB Curl - 35x5, 35x5, 35x5, 35x5
Done, that was it. Went after 410 today twice, the first time I got it off the chest but hit my sticking point. The second time hit the same thing so decided to do weights to get a rep at or above 400lbs but no big deal of not getting that, I know I have it in me. Struggled and strained the muscles so that is great, you learn a lot by doing it that way. With the barbell curls went into it wanting to hit them heavy, and after the 185 set I wanted to hit a cheat curl set and see how many times I could get 205, the first one went well and went after the second but it stopped at my waist. Ended it nicely with Incline DB Curls to stretch it all out. Squats and fun stuff come Wed. I am eating wings, ribs, and pop-tarts today....gotta love it

thanks bro, it was a good session I feel that I learn a lot from these plus I always leave taxed which is a good thing. These methods and thought processes that I have during the sessions help me not only better understand training but hopefully share with everyone a little bit of what goes on

Basically yeah, I dont really change much execpt the carbs depending on what I am doing or how my day goes. I like to fluxuate the carbs during the day/week but what was posted there was exactly what I had yesterday on 11/17/08. You sound shocked at that.....

Damn.....you found out my secret. Yes I am trying to lean out a tad which is why the carbs aren't all that impressive, normally it is 1 to 1.5 cups of carbs per meal. I was getting a tad to fat which throws off a whole lot of different things for me lifting wise (speed, balance, breathing while lifting), so for me right now its not a big thing to throttle back the carbs, keep the protein coming and still train like I do. I feel that my weights haven't suffered at all with eating like this so its all good, but when the weights take a hit....its back to ye olde drawing board. I am still sitting nicely in the 250s which allows me to drop to the 242s if needed or stay at 250 and get stronger at the same weight
