So what kind of photography are you dealing with Toni? B/W or colour, or maybe both? Digital/analog?

Shoot, remember, Im old..I used to develop my own film back in the day in the good ol dark room, unreeling film, tray processing, hanging the film to dry...all that good stuff. I was stationed on the USS Kittyhawk as a combat photographer so everythng they did there was as old school as you can get, LOL.

Now, Im flowing with the times I guess...got a Nikon D70 with all the bells and whistles.

I use both color and black and white digital and I enjoy taking photos of architecture, the older the better for me like churches and cemetaries. On the brighter side, wild flowers, insects, wild animals, landscapes...that's my sorta thing. I dont really like taking action shots or pics of people unless its a controversial type shoot or something with a message or story behind it. I get very passionate when I start photographing...I really throw myself into it.

Nice to hear about your ideas and feelings about photography, thank you! Hey, a former combat photographer, and old school too! - that is very interesting. As I wrote, this session was shot in analog fashion with a Nikon FM2 (by 1300HZ). I personally use an old Canon F1, I love it! I like shooting concrete stuff.. ruined things, and telephone poles (and other stuff)

Have you shot actual combat, I mean the real deal? That must be very scary as well as exciting? I don't know if that's suitable to discuss here, but if you want to share something about it, feel free to PM me, because I'm very interested. I suppose you've seen the stuff by Larry Burrows and Henry Huet?

if I told ya, I would have to make a trip to Sweden superfast and drop a DB on your toe..LOL

The renowned LIFE magazine photographer Larry Burrows...covered the war of Indochina...God yes! and Henry Huet..one of the finest combat photographers out there...wow. Not many actually understand anything about those two extraordinary men.

I used to have a Canon F1 too! LOL. You wanna hear how old skool I am..I used to use my dad's twin lens reflex camera...LOL

Hehe, I understand that!

I'm expecting a book called "Lost over Laos" any day now, ordered it recently. It's a book presenting 4 combat photographers I think, covering the indochina stuff. I believe Burrows and Huet are featured in this book. It's gonna be interesting looking and reading! A lot of Leica shots I suppose!

Damn.. you had one of those cameras?! It's amazing. You should have kept it!!! That is old school! 1300HZ also uses older stuff - Rolleiflex from 1950 and older cams. I settle with the F1.

Someday you just might end up right here on the other side of the Atlantic! As for the old school touch - the pictures are actually the real deal, taken with analog film camera.. REAL pics man, hehe!

Glad you liked them!
