Here is my situation. Starting in the fall semester, I go to school all day, i play rugby in the afternoon from 4-6, then i eat dinner. I was thinking of getting my workouts in around 10 at night or right after dinner. Can you guys give me some advice on when to take supps.? How to work in the workouts around practice, etc.? How can i still be a bodybuilder, and play an endurance sport like rugby?

I was in the same situation in college. i played football and threw on the track team. What i always did was do my bulking in the summer time when i didnt have any sports. Then worked out just enough to keep my size and strength or at least as much of it as i could during football. I would bulk now, maybe even add a little bit, and let me strain the word little, of extra fat in the offseason. as soon as you start playin rugby that increased cardio will naturally cut you up more. my advice to you is to lower the number of sets you do during rugby because you will overtrain faster if you do all that activity then train your balls off. The biggest thing to you right now would be supplements like creatine, glutamine, obvsiously protien and a pre workout drink. And animal has all those right here for you! and remember that every good supplement stack starts with a multi vitamin and animal pak is the best! make sure you are getting enough rest everyday and sneak in some naps. hope this helps man. i was in teh same situation through college and it is tough keeping and adding size every year when you loose some of it when your respective season starts off. good luck brotha!

Thanks man. My stack is Pak, Stak, Nitro (mid-workout) Torrent, ZMA Pro, and NOX3 (both before bed) Now should i take any supps before practice or should i wait until i lift?

It's a tough but fun life for us ruggers.
I just do my bulking during the summer which is the only offseason we get.
During the season just lift and eat enough to maintain. You might be able to pack on some more mass but it would be tough. Stick with a good creatine/EAA/protein stack and you will be fine. You might want to look into Rhodiola Rosea also. Its a good adaptogen that helps your body handle the immense stress we are under.
BTW how about Radford Rugby man? National Champs baby!!!!!

you should take your supps throughout the day. things like creatine and gulatmine arent going to make a huge impact on your lifting if you take them right before you lift. take those in doses spread out throughout the day. i would invest in a good pre workout energy/pump formula like animal pump that will get you some energy after your long day with school and rugby. make sure you are eating good too. dont be affraid to eat more in season because you will be burning many more calories with a 2-3 hour practice than you normally do. my last year of football i was eating an entire tub of ice cream before sleep to try and keep weight on, and it worked.
