Ok - there are about 10 million ways to carb up, fat load, water deplete, sodium cut, etc...
I know that many of us on here followed the KETO diet, but I was curious to see what people did to prep for their show on PEAK WEEK.
Here are a few of my ideas...
Dave's protocol:
DAYS TILL CONTEST CARBOHYDRATES***
6 days out No carbohydrates
5 days out No carbohydrates
4 days out No carbohydrates
3 days out 30g carbs per meal x 6 meals
2 days out 40g carbs per meal x 6 meals
1 day out 50g carbs per meal x 6 meals - cut sodium, cut water at 5 PM
Contest Day 30g carbs per meal
Tipsta's protocol - assuming no fats (minus EFA's which are ALWAYS taken)
3 days out - 16g carb per kg of LBM + 1 gallon water
2 days out - 11g carb per kg of LBM + 1/2 gallon water
1 day out - 6g carb per kg of LBM + Dietary Fats 1/4 gallon water
Other protocols are similar to these two but some add fats on thursday, some have more carbs on wednesday and taper down (just like daves but reverse)...
it's all really confusing and really scary - just seeing what everyone else did...

Is tipsta's protocol intented for the zero carb diet?
i say go safe and go with dave
i would hate to see that you went fat on stage after you deprived yourself more than 16 weeks for the contest

GOOD call...
I'm just wondering how I should adjust carbs depending on my bodyweight... I mean 50g / meal 6 meals on friday... that's alot if I come in at like 180

why not trying like in the offseason?
do 50grams x 5 meals and keep the fats on the last one

I think no matter what I am going to try the protocol I didn't do the following week, after I am depleted again. That way, I know in my heart which one was better!
So I'll have my show saturday, cheat saturday, cheat sunday, back to the diet throughout the week, then I'll probably start the other protocol the next SUNDAY...

that means you are going for trial and error with both protocols?
why not doing what myth suggested?

What myth suggested is what dave suggested - I just want to come in DRY as a bone, you know!
But I just re-read what you wrote - I should do dave's method because I did dave's diet... gotta do the same thing start to finish! I agree with you 100%...
Carbs + Fats on Thurs + Friday... 35 g 6 meals thursday, maybe more on Friday, saturday.... not sure exactly what to do... Cut water at 5 PM friday, cut sodium Friday... DONE.
EDIT - DAVE USED TO HAVE PEOPLE GO WED with carbs like I outlined above top, but he doesn't suggest that anymore... why? I donno!

i only remember breakfast on sat which was eggs with a lil of coffee
