Whats good everyone? This is jhicks3301... I've been here for a while and mostly lurk here. I post a lot over at bb.com

This will be my first contest prep. I've been dieting solid for three weeks and I'm 16 weeks out as of now.. Saturday will be 15... I'm keeping a journal over at bb.com but I want to keep one here for the animals and the people that know what it is like...

My diet is a carb cycle. It's the cut diet from Scivation. Right now my carb cycle is 2900 cals.. I'm still dropping weight from that. At 19 weeks out I was 214 and now I'm 207... So 7lbs in 3 weeks.

If you guys have any questions or comments please feel free... I need all the motivation I can get right now...

I'll try to keep this updated everyday...

Yeah these are my folk as well. I am heavily debating on doing one if I can bring up a lot of my weaknesses. Definitely glad to see you doing one and it allows me to follow along and see just what you go through. Great tool.

Here is a shot I took yesterday. I hold quite a bit of fat as an Endo bodytype... Once I lose some in my arms I will start getting happy lol

Nah man doesnt look to me like youre holding "a lot". Actually looks like after a typical cut youll be shredded and lookin good. Your back looks good. You got definition in your upper back/trap region already. Once you drop your BF% and hit that same bicep shot itll look nasty.

Yeah... I hope to come in at around 190-195.... So we will see how it goes...

Just looked at the other pics. Youre in good shape for 16 weeks bro. Keep up with your cardio everyday and youll be good to go. And like I said before your back is your best bodypart from what I can tell. You have a good chest too. Use those to your benefit. Make sure to hit those wheels and abs! Those are judged the most in amateur comps. Something I was lacking in my first comp and will never happen again.

Keep in mind for competition you can never be lean enough.

Thanks man.. yeah with that weight that I have dropped it has just been from cardio on my off days and diet... So once I start nailing cardio everyday I'll be good to go..

yeah my back is BY FAR my best part... Chest is decent but I can bring everything else up. I've got big wheels but I just need the conditioning in them.. Calves are coming along good too. So I'll for sure start killing the abs as well

It was a decent workout today. Better energy levels. I'm losing a lot of my strength but I'm not worried about that. I'm more focused on reps and posture.

So far everything is coming along nice!

I'm on board for this for sure dude, our backs looked similar, wide lower back, if you look at my shot from last week you'll see you'll thin right out!

thansk bro.. Actually I went ahead and did chest a few min ago.. I had a meeting with my class this morning and I have a hyouge project due on monday..

I was going to SoCal to meet up with the guys that I'm doing the comp with and all that shit fell through.. I hate having to train chest right after delts...

yeah my lifts were weak as shit.. I've lost a lot of my strength since dieting.. But I'm not worried about that. As long as I keep shreddin' up it's all good..

I'm thinking about droppin my cals even lower next week.

Well I went ahead and decided that I was going to lower my cals again.. I'm around 2400 on non carb up days..

Doing nothing but the treadmill..

HR doesn't get above 120 and I do about 45 min a session

Pretty good workout today. Tried some Fubar today and it was Crazy! I loved the energy I got from it and I haven't crashed which is good. I'm going to be getting me some today to run on my prep...

Looking good J, keep on track and youll be good to go. One thing I might suggest- becusae you have some solid shoulders, maybe tilt your arms a little more upward on your front and back double bi shots. Bringing the elbows up lessens your shoulders and make your arms look bigger. Thats what my coach told me to do becuase my shoulders are proportionally bigger than my arms....by a lot haha. Keep putting these pics up man. You should do it week to week so you can see the difference yourself. That mirror can be a BITCH!!!

yeah, that is on area that I've been trying to work on... Trying to keep wide when I do those shots... I'm going to be working on it daily

I have wheels today.... Yesterday was a good off day. I feel flat but I feel recovered... Looking to really kill the wheels today.. 15 reps per set.. Looking to really pull in the cond.

Wow, so I'm 14 weeks out today of my first competition. I've been dieting a full five weeks now.. Still around 207... I'm dropping BF and actually gaining some muscle... Just thought I would take some time to recap some things so far...
Well I honestly can't believe that it has been five weeks already.. It just seems like I'm on autodrive.. meals are routine and I'm like a zombie most days.. I still to the same schedule day in and day out... It can kinda drive you crazy but it is easy to keep up with things that way...
I've cut chicken pretty much out of my diet and only doing fish.. It is basically Halibut/Tilapia/Tuna.... My first meal of the day I'm doing oats... the rest of the time my carbs are coming from veggies... Then on carb load days I still do the same oats with all the goodies in it and then my sweet potato...

My body is pretty much sore all the time now... I'm going to start getting massages every other week. Yup, I have the hookup at my gym ... Starting really to concentrate on stretching as well. I'm the most unflexable person you will ever meet.. I feel like I've really been tighting up with the high rep slow rest between my workouts...
I believe my strongest parts so far are my legs and back... The areas I REALLY need to pick up is my arms and delts... I hold fat quite a bit in my arms for some reason. As soon as I drop that I think they will look pretty damn good..
I'll try to have some progress pics up by the end of next week. You should really be able to see some changes by then.. I feel like I make progress every single day and still remaining at the same weight...
So it has been a struggle but I knew it would be with all the shit that I have going on in my life right now. Just keeping my eye on the prize and moving forward..

I was reading in the new MD in the House column he talks a lot about practicing posing, and about flexing his glutes super-hard all the time.

Yeah most pro's and others I've talked to says that posing a lot really helps with the seperation... Plus it takes a lot out of you for posing for 60secs lol.
