So here we are again. I sit at 14 weeks and 15 weeks respectively from my next two shows. The Youngstown Cardinal Classic Oct 18th and the NPC Monster Mash Oct 25th. I have put on some good muscle in the last 3 and a half months while staying pretty lean. I will once again plan on competing at Middleweight but we will see how things progress. I am starting with 30 minutes of Low intensity cardio 4x a week and will be bumping it up periodically. My diet will also be different this time. I will be taking in about 240-280 grams of protein a day, 120-150 carbs, and keeping my fats lows. The only carb sources I will have are coming from my protein, oatmeal, and brown rice. I will cut carbs as I progress when the mirror tells me. It is going to be a long road, but I believe I am alot more prepared this time around. I will post up my diet and workout schedule later today. For all those that stop by, feel free to make suggestions or take what you want from my experiences.

Here is my workout plan for the next 6 weeks. I am trying to hit everything twice a week except legs. My legs are pretty good so I am only hitting them once a week right now. I will be hitting each part heavy once a week and then light just to get the blood pumping into that muscle the second time.

Started Sunday on the diet and the workout. It has been tough getting back into the full swing of the diet but a couple more days and it will be second nature again. After the first two days of the workout I feel good and am really liking the new plan. I have today off before hitting quads tomorrow. Just gonna do a little cardio tonight and be set today.

Had a great workout on Shoulders yesterday and got the blood pumping in the chest a little. Starting to get a little easier handling the diet and making sure everything is going good.

Alright I have been a little slack on updating this. I have been busy as hell. Busting my ass in the gym and cookin. Diet is going well and already leaning up a good deal. I will post some pictures this weekend when i will be 12 weeks out. I will get back to this a bit more once I get my training book back.

Nice to see you here. Been traveling lately alot but will get back to updating this a little better. Have Chest/tris tonight so it should be a good one.

Diet has been good. Abs are pretty much in at 11 weeks out or so, so I am feeling good. Me and my buddy came up with a great cardio routine we do once a week. 100 yard dash, length of a football field sprint, then walk back. Kinda a HIIT training. It is killer, We do 20 of them which doesn't seem like much but kicked my ass. After that, it is stairs around the stadium. Did it yesterday and I am hurting almost as bad as a really good leg day.

Question about that cardio, would that kind of cardio decrease your leg size a little if you did it to much?

Yeah I believe it would. It is basically HIIT, but that is why we are doing it once a week just to kinda jump start some fat loss and keep the body guessing. The low intensity cardio worked real well for me last time, but I just got bored with it and I seem to stall out after awhile. I am hoping this will be the kick I need to get even leaner. I can tell you It feels like a tough workout. My legs are still hurting today from it.

Big Chest day yesterday with a few tri exercises to get the blood flowing. Also hit 25 minutes of low intense cardio during the day. Feel like I am on a real good pace to come in really ripped for this show. I was planning on taking pictures at week 12 but forgot so I will get some posted up this weekend at 10 weeks out.

I am running a low carb diet, but not too low. I started off with about 250 grams of protein, 160 carbs per day and very low fat. Every two weeks I am dropping carbs by 20 grams and upping my protein a little. It has been working really well. I am around 2400 calories a day right now. I am going by the mirror and the scale a bit to adjust.

I'm going to try carb cycling next time - or an approach similar to yours with more fats.

Yeah i have the same idea behind mine. My fats are low but not too low. I am around 60 to 70 a day right now. The fats stay the same until I feel i really need to cut more. I ran the keto last time and lost a lot, 209 to 172 in 10 weeks, but just felt really flat and smooth. I started at 196 this time and really never put on much fat. I am at 191 right now and my abs are pretty good. So I feel 1 to 2 lbs is all I need a week this time.

Ok I have been a little lacking on this journey. Been crazy busy with work and getting things together to get engaged. So I promise I am going to get things back on track with the loggin. I have stayed on track really well with my diet and training though. Down to 188, so lost a little bit more than I wanted to after only 5 weeks. I started at 198, but still going strong. Hit chest hard yesterday and a little tri to get the blood pumping. Last week of this training routine. I have gotten good results and even gained a little strength.

Bench - 5x6-10
Incline DB Press 5x6-10
Decline Bench - 4x8-10
Cable Cross - 4x10
Tri Pushdowns - 4x12
Straight-bar pushdowns - 3x12

looking great man... if you're back / lats were a little wider you'd be tough to beat! Don't take that the wrong way - make it a focus for next off-season! Your legs are nuts though, look at the tear drop!

I like the tats on your bi's too, draws attention to them - normally, I'd say don't draw attention to weak parts but if you take a look you'll notice you have BIG FULL biceps, so they're not weak, that's definitely a cool strength pointer-outer haha

Thanks man. Yeah I know my back and lats are my big weak point. I actually brought them up since my first show a few months ago but still have some work to do. Here is an old pic of the lats.

Thanks guys. I have really been trying to bring up some parts and back and arms were one of the big ones.

Speaking of, that was what I hit yesterday. I hit them pretty hard too and am definitely feeling it today. Also got a slight twinge in my right wrist. Hopefully it will heal up. Got legs today so should be able to get through it.

Few pointers for you, one is on your front pose of the quarter turns, try and seem a little more "relaxed" Bend your arms a little more and dont forget to flex them.

Front Lat Spread - spread more. You can help yourself by bringing your arms more towards the camera. Since your back is your weak point, you need to really get as much spread and width as you can. Remember, bodybuilding is an illusion. Suck your stomach in, spread your arms as much as possible and separate your shoulder blades as much as possible.

Front Double Bi-try to make this a back pose in your head and spread those shoulder blades. Also, bring your shoulders down more. That will help you get another inch on your lat spread.

Back Double Bi- SPREAD the shoulder blades as much as possible and bring the shoulders down. It will help the distribuiton of the back muscles.

Most Muscular- Given the fact that your not a Dennis Wolf or some 260 pound monster, I would actually stay away from the crab. Go for a more finesse most muscular like a hands on your hips one or hands clasped. It'll be classier and may work better for you.

HIt legs yesteray. Had to work out at work cause me and the lady had a bday party to go to. Not the best time for someone that is so hungry to be around people drinking margaritas and beer and eating chicken wings and tacos. Me and my jug of water hung out in the corner. haha. Did have a good lift though

Well missed cardio today at lunch but will make up for it. Prep just got a whole lot easier today. I won a pretty decent elliptical machine on ebay for 25 bucks today cause it was for pickup only. So now morning cardio will be alot easier and I will get a lot more sleep. I have never been so excited to do cardio. haha

Got up this morning and did 30 minutes of cardio then helped a friend move. Went and hit the gym afterwards, so I was a bit tired to begin with. I hit it pretty hard and was surprised I was able to get through it all after the morning I had.

Today was Chest day. I was able to get a little more out of the workout today. Going a little heavier and few more reps.

Strength levels are still good. I still have 25 carbs every morning and then carb cycle my days. 25, 25, 75, 150, 75, repeat. So strength has been good. the carbs will start coming out a little more in the next few weeks if need be.

Thanks Big A. Summer as been good, but have had to miss out on a few things cause of dieting, but it will all be worth it come October 18th and 25th when I take my weight classes. Hope you have had a good one so far.

Strength levels are still good. I still have 25 carbs every morning and then carb cycle my days. 25, 25, 75, 150, 75, repeat. So strength has been good. the carbs will start coming out a little more in the next few weeks if need be.

Been out on the road for the past couple days. Went down to Florida on Thursday morning and drove back all day Sat and into Sunday. Was able to get a few workouts in down there including my arm workout Friday and cardio on both days. I made all my meals before hand and basically took an extra suitcase full of chicken,rice, and brocilli meals, and bags of protein powder. So pretty much had all my food for the entire trip. Also packed up little baggies of my pills for each day. Friday the workout was very good.Overall had a great trip and some great workouts. Now looking forward to getting back into the gym today and really hitting it hard.

Chest was on Monday. Late night lift but pushed through it. Coming up on my last few weeks. My knee is starting to bother me a little bit so i am going to back off the heavy lifting on my leg days. Dont want to kill myself right before the show. Already got some good size now just putting the finishing touch ups. Like I said though Monday was chest.

Been hard to keep this up with all the training and cardio, travel and wedding plans. None the less, I think I am sitting pretty for next saturday. About 4 lbs over the weight limit and not even thinking about it. I am already pretty dry and cut up and in pretty good show condition now. Should be ripped to shreds by the time the first show comes around. I actually thought about just stepping on stage this last weekend at the Natural Northern Ohio and am pretty sure I would have placed top 3 in my class with how I look now. The guys didnt seem to come in that dry or shredded. Most looked flat, but I couldnt get handle the precontest week with the traveling I was doing last week. I am up to 1 1/2 to 2 hours of cardio a day in 30 to 45 min intervals. Last week of good hard lifting, but not trying to kill myself right now. It will be tricky the next two weeks getting into peak condition for next saturday, then trying to do it all again starting the day after the show for the weekend after. Wish I would of had two weeks in between but you gotta work with what you got.

Well just got back from Y-town and put my trophy away. I took the Middleweight class but lost the overall, and the Pro Card, to the Light heavy weight that was just a freak. It was a smaller show, but I am happy with the win. Getting ready for next weeks show, The NPC Monster Mash. It is a little bigger show so we will see how i do. So the long road is complete. I finished my 2008 season pretty decently. 1st at the Cardinal Classic and ended up tied for 4th out of 10 in a very good Middleweight class at the NPC Monster Mash. Somehow even though I tied for 4th, I got 5th. Not sure how the tie breacker was done but oh well. I was still happy with the result. I have my things to work on now and the off season will begin. Not sure when the next show will be, but I will probably think more about that later down the road. Here are the pics from pre-judging, I dont have any from my routine cause my fiance locked the memory card and couldnt figure out how to unlock it. I am the one in the teal posing suit. Thanks to everyone for the support. Next time I am gonna be bigger and better.
