An explaination:
I just started a 42-day cycle of Test today. I will not change anything with my training or diet. The only differences between yesterday and today is the addition of Test and M-Stak. Once I have completed the can of M-Stak, I will immediately follow it with Stak. The Stak and Test should run out at the same time. I am then going back on M-Stak as recommended by the Animal site.
Current stats:
Height: 6' 0"
Weight: 238lbs
Arms: 18.5in
Forearms: 14.3in
Calves: 18.4in
Squat: a pathetic 435lbs
Bench: 405lbs
Deadlift: 535lbs
Current supplements:
I am currently taking:
--Animal Pak (morning w/ 2nd breakfast)
--Animal Flex (with cottage cheese, before bed )
--whey protein (one shake as soon as I wake up)
--omega complex (2400mg with Pak and Flex)
--post workout shake: Real Gains, creatine monohydrate, beta alanine powder
--Animal Nitro (immediately prior to training)
--Animal M-Stak (~45-60 minutes before training)
--Animal Test (30 minutes before training, with 100% grape juice and red pill from M-Stak)
It seems like a lot, but I really don't spend a ton on supplements. I usually average around $40 a month or so. Buying in bulk is cheaper. However, the addition of Test and M-Stak makes this month's supplement bill much higher.
Goals:
Although it's great to gain mass, my main goal has been and will remain to get stronger. Lifting heavy is addictive. You reach or surpass a goal and it's not enough. I'm looking to improve all of my major lifts by 4 - 5% by the end of August.
Current diet:
I eat what I want most of the time. I cheat sometimes, but I eat fairly clean most of the time. I do not count calories and I do not count macro- or micronutrients. I eat to keep my body in an anabolic state as much as possible.
Current training program:
I am currently on a slightly modified Westside-style program. I have added a few strongman movements (tire flips, farmer's walk, etc) and switched up a couple exercises to fit my needs (focus on weaknesses).

I appreciate the compliment. You should be happy with the M-Stak. Just be sure to keep snacks and plenty of water handy. My appetite and thirst usually increase with M.

Second day on Test.
Not much to report. I have noticed that after training yesterday and today I was in a great mood. I'm exhausted after tire flips and dynamic lower body movements, but feeling good...

Yesterday was a rest and recuperation day for me. Took the Test and M-Stak and the usual times.
Today, I had dynamic upper body. When I began training, I was tired and just not into it for some reason. The longer I trained, the better I felt and the more reps I wanted to push out. After training on Mondays and Thursdays, I coach football. Before Test and M-Stak, I would sometimes be so exhausted that I'd have to rest for a short time while other coaches took over for a bit. Now, I'm right in the middle of things and even ocassionally running around with the team at the end of practice. I feel great. Whether it's the Test, M-Stak, combo of both, or just a great week - I really don't know. One way or another, I love the feeling...

Took mstak today, and I can say that even with just seven hours of sleep, I have never had more energy in the gym than I had today in over 6 years of lifting. Not sure about Test, but I know mstak will light a fire under your behind!

Yeah, I had alpha-tested the new M-Stak and found it to be very effective. I've taken it a few times since then. The Test just adds fuel to the fire.

Deadlift day. One of my favorite days. Like yesterday, though, I just didn't feel like I was into it for the first 3 sets or so. I fought through it and decided to do more reps - which I hate by the way. (I'd rather dig, claw and grunt my way through one or two heavy reps than 8-15 moderate weight reps any day.) I got 13 quick reps of 405 and stopped. Probably could have done a couple more now that I look back on it... maybe not...
I still feel on top of the world. I'm sleeping very well at night and wake up feeling refreshed. The Test/M-Stak combo puts a dent in my wallet, but I can really feel a difference in how I want to push forward and do more than before. That feeling isn't just confined to the weight room either. Even other activities (taking out the garbage, washing the car, mowing the lawn, etc) don't seem like boring chores this week. Weird, huh?

07-21-08, 9:50 am
This weekend was all about active rest and recuperation. I went hiking, swimming, did some necessary chores around the house - just trying to stay moving. I think I ate more red meat this weekend than I ever have; I love grilling steaks, but I love eating them even more.
The weekend is over now. Time to get some work done. I'm ready to hit it hard this afternoon...
Hercules
07-21-08, 9:53 pm
Wow... I am utterly exhausted. Heavy upper body day. The gym was 89 degrees inside while I was training this afternoon. I didn't care much; I had work to do. The weird part: the more 'drained' I felt, the more I wanted to lift. Once my training was over, it was time to coach football. I ran all over the field with the guys and felt great - completely devoid of physical energy, but great nonetheless. I have so much 'mental' energy now. Even when my body is exhausted, my mind pushes it on. Is it the Test/M-Stak combo? Again, I don't know. I began feeling like this last week when I started my cycle. Coincidence? You decide...

07-22-08, 5:26 pm
Dynamic lower body day was another hot one. I'm exhausted to the point of feeling the onset of a headache (drinking enough water and replenishing my electrolytes usually wards off the exertion headaches, though). I did some tire flips and explosive jumps, among other things. I still have that 'mental' energy. It seems to drive me beyond what I think I can accomplish. Although I feel more exhausted after training, I also feel that each session is much more fulfilling than before the Test and M-Stak.
Tomorrow is a rest and recuperation day; I'll check my weight to see if anything has changed.
Hercules
07-24-08, 9:16 pm
I finally weighed myself today: 242.6lbs! Water weight maybe? Regardless, I'm still in a great mood before and after training and motivated to do so much more. This is good stuff...
Hercules
07-28-08, 10:16 pm
Besides being in a great mood, I feel much more driven to push harder throughout my entire training session, especially at the end. As I've stated in previous entries, I feel exhausted at the end of each session but I want to push on and do more than before.
So far, my mood has not changed. I am.... happy. I feel that way all the time now - in and out of the gym. Only one more week of the M-Stak. Hope this continues when I start Stak next week.
The only thing that bothers me at this point is a sore shoulder. It's been aching for a week or so now. I noticed some additional pain this afternoon when doing heavy lockouts (flat bench). I'll work around it on dynamic upper body day (Thursdays). Hopefully it'll feel better by next Monday. This, of course, has nothing to do with the Test stack. I probably got lazy, lost my form, and pulled something.

What an awesome day. I flipped tires (concentrating on exploding it upwards with the hips), then dragged some on the track (sprinting with harness attached to a tire), and finished with some work in the gym (legs and abs). It was one of the most intense days I've had in a while. Still feeling great and looking forward to pushing even harder on Thursday...

Driven. Focused. Determined. That's how I feel. Although today was a rest and recuperation day, I still set my sights on what I need to accomplish in the gym tomorrow. I seem to be craving water more and more, even though I drink it all the time - that happened even when I alpha-tested the new M-Stak a while ago. Whatever is happening, I like it...

Another great training session today. Did 4 supersets of reverse-grip lat pulldowns and reverse flyes (among other things, of course). We have all heard "Squat 'til you puke", but pulldowns 'til you puke? I didn't actually hurl, but it felt like it after the last 2 sets. Seriously, I was close...
My shoulder felt OK today - no major pain or aching. I tried to avoid doing any movements that would aggravate it (training rear delts didn't bother me a bit). There're always ways to work around stuff like that while still training to the utmost intensity.
Mood is still the same. Looking forward to heavy squats tomorrow...

Heavy leg day went well. I trained in the morning so my supplement timing was a little different today. The only thing I noticed was that I was more tired in the afternoon and evening than usual; that's more than likely due to the red pill in M-Stak taken in the morning rather than the afternoon like I normally do. Rest and recuperation this weekend. I'll be starting Stak on Monday - I guess you could call it phase 2 in my Test cycle.

08-04-08, 10:11 pm
I started Animal Stak alongside the Test today. I still have that same drive to do more and I still feel great. I also still weigh 242. I gained solid 4lbs in 3 weeks on the M-Stak/Test combo - not bad. We'll see how Stak pans out...
It was heavy upper body today. My shoulder did not give me any problems whatsoever. I went up to 385 on flat bench for a heavy triple. Unfortunately, the 3rd rep was a forced rep so I only got 2 on my own (glad I had a spotter, though). I left 385 on the rack and did 2 more on the next set to make up for not hitting the triple. When my training session was over, it felt like I could still do more. I was drenched with sweat (it was 84 degrees in the gym) and I pushed it on every set. I'm already looking forward to flipping tires tomorrow...

It's my 2nd day of Stak, which means only 19 more days left of the Test/Stak combo. Tuesdays are my dynamic lower body days. On paper it looks fairly easy. In real life, different story. After flipping tires, I performed 6 sets of dynamic vertical plyometric jumps. These are crazy-explosive and give the legs and midsection a good burn. Went to a few sets of straight-leg DLs afterwards to stretch and finished with some explosive ab work with the medicine ball. Four exercises... that's all. It is absolutely killer, though. All through today's training I was feeling great. Even at the end I finished strong. The drive and focus is still there and not diminishing.

Wednesday was a rest and recuperate day. Today, however, was another balls-to-the-wall training day. I did some dynamic bench work, skullcrushers, and some other fun stuff for the upper body. Intensity was high and I still feel focused and determined.
I weighed myself before training: 245.0lbs - the heaviest I've ever been. Just hope my strength numbers continue improving along with the additional weight gain...

This is the first 'off' day I've had since being on Test. Heavy lower body day is always fun to me. Today, it was deadlifts. I only went up to 495 for a single. My back felt so fatigued, probably from doing lawn work on Wednesday. Regardless, it sucked. I'm not happy with my performance today at all. Although my body needs this weekend to rest, mentally I want to be in the gym and hitting it hard to make up for slacking today. I'm really looking forward to going crazy with the iron on Monday...

I eat when I feel its necessary. I don't bother counting calories or macro- and micronutrients. I know when I'm getting enough and I know when I'm not. When I need more, I eat more. I focus on the nutrition timing rather than the quantity.

My body definately needed this weekend. I have noticed a couple things lately: 1) my recuperation time seems to be faster than it used to, and 2) my libido is through the roof since I began taking Animal Stak with the Test. My back no longer feels fatigued and I feel focused and determined to throw some serious weight around. I'm ready for next week...

Back to work today - and not just in the gym either. Teachers returned to work today (students return next week). Where did the summer go? Anyway, I worked in my classroom, coached football, then trained. I felt a little tired after practice (2+ hours in the FL sun will wear you out quickly); but as soon as I walked in the gym, I knew what I had to do. I felt 100% better than Friday. I did 315 for 2 sets of heavy singles on incline bench. I'll do more weight in a couple weeks. I did some back work and shrugs as well. I'm still on top of the world when it comes to my mood, even after putting in 11 total hours at school today. Dynamic lower body day tomorrow... I'm looking forward to it...

Tuesday's dynamic lower body was fun. At first, I was tired but motivated. Once I got a couple sets completed, mentally and physically I felt compelled to do more. Although school just started for teachers and we have a million things to do to prepare our classrooms and school for the incoming student next week, I still feel great. I'm staying positive, focused, and determined. I plan on weighing myself again at some point this week.

Today (Friday) was heavy lower. Instead of doing squats or deads, I decided to do power cleans. I must admit, I did make a good choice. That was just awesome. The explosiveness of the lift really gets the adrenaline going. Still feeling great and looking foward to doing some heavy upper on Monday.
Log is looking solid Herc, and the progress is amazing. I'd guess you're about 18-20 lbs heavier than when I last saw you in June - very solid gains indeed.

Heavy upper today was somewhat disappointing. I attempted 385 for a heavy triple on flat bench. I got 2 easy enough but couldn't lock out the 3rd rep. Could have been due to running around with the guys at football practice. Regardless, I should've pushed that rep out. Next time...
I did some close-grip presses and back and trap work. I finished up with straight bar curls. That's the first time I've trained my biceps directly in quite some time.
Today was the first day of school for the students. I taught all day and coached football afterwards. I trained for about an hour after practice, then went home and mowed the lawn (tropical storm coming; had to get it done). I have so much energy and motivation to get things done, as well as focus during the task (whatever it may be). I've only got a short time left on Test. I'm not looking to going with out it...
Hercules

Tropical storm Fay moved though today. School was cancelled and so was football practice. The weather really wasn't that bad, so I headed to the gym this afternoon. Instead of flipping tires, I pulled them instead (with a harness around the waist). After a few 30-yard sprints/pulls, I decided to do just two more then go in for some more dynamic leg work. I started off very forcefully on what would have been my second-to-last pull, and my left calf popped and tightened up in a nice knot. I tried to do more in the gym, but it hurt. I did some ab work and went home. Since then, I've been trying to stretch it. It feels better when I walk on it, but if I sit for any length of time (to eat, type this log entry, etc) it tighens up again to the point it hurts to walk and I limp a bit. This sucks. I'm hoping this is a temporary boo-boo and I'll be fine soon.

After being on my feet all day yesterday, my calf feels better. Not 100% by any means, but there's hope for doing some calf work in the gym on Friday. It was sore during football practice yesterday, but not like it was on Tuesday night. Only a few days left of Test and Stak left. I'll continue my log as I switch to M-Stak again once the Test and Stak are gone. I want to see if I retain the mass I've gained throughout this cycle. Which reminds me: I'll weigh myself within the next couple days...
Hercules
08-21-08, 9:34 pm
I was utterly exhausted after football practice today. I took my Stak toward the end of practice, took my Test with a protein shake and some grape juice when I got back into the locker room, and waited 30 minutes to step into the weightroom. As soon as I walked in, I was ready. I knew what I had to do and I pushed it. It was dynamic upper day so I wasn't using heavy weights by any means, but it was intense. From wanting to go to sleep to being focused and determined in 30-45 minutes is awesome. I can attribute that to the Stak/Test combo.
I did take some measurements today. Although I didn't have the opportunity to weigh myself, I did do some body measurements. My upper arms are now 19.1in, my forearms 14.6in, and my neck 17.5in - all of which are definite improvements since I began my cycle last month. I will have all of the final numbers by this weekend or early next week.
3 more days left of Test and Stak... :(
Gotta love the boost you get from Test/Stak. 19.1" on the uppers is great - 20" is just around the corner man.

Since this is the last week of Test, I have decided to go all out this weekend and see if I can break any of my prior PRs. Sunday is the day. I'll post the numbers when I'm finished.
Hercules
08-24-08, 6:11 pm
...was an awesome one. I broke my old deadlift PR by 30lbs! I pulled 565 for a single and I honestly don't think I could've added another pound to the bar and pulled it off the ground. What an unbelievable feeling! I also did some other lower body stuff after DLs. I finished up with standing calf raises. My left calf is still a little sore from this past Tuesday's incident but I managed to do 4 sets of lighter weight (only up to 185) for some higher reps. It should be fine by next week so I can go up to my usual weight.
Although I am now finished with the Animal Test cycle, I will still be updating this log. Starting tomorrow, I will begin a 21-day cycle of M-Stak. The only thing changing is the substitution of M-Stak for the Stak/Test combo; I will remain on all of the other supplements listed in the initial entry of this log. I'm hoping to continue my gains in both strength and mass. I will also post my other lift numbers and measurements.
Good job on the DL PR - 30 lbs is a HUGE jump.

Thanks, Nole1! I appreciate the support, man.
Although I'm no longer on Test, I still felt great today... well, until after football practice. Our defense looked absolutely terrible this afternoon so my mood had changed a little. Doing better now. My lower back and glutes are a bit sore from pulling yesterday, but it still feels good to be just 35lbs away from 600.
I began M-Stak today and found that I can't seem to get enough water. I'm peeing clear (in case you wanted to know...) but I'm constantly thirsty. That has happened before when I was on M-Stak. It's not a problem at all, though; just an observation.

i am 23 new to bodybuilding, i want size and strength gains i have average bfat, i'm slim. my guess answer is test is not needed because i'm still young, as well as being new to bodybuilding? i've tried finding the answer but it's not a very searchable question, but i'll keep researching

Yesterday I was so tired after football practice, but I was determined to train anyway. My body felt exhausted but I was mentally focused. I ended up doing some upper body and bench felt good. I went up to 425, but couldn't lock out. I was soooo close. I'll try it again when I'm fresh on Monday. I had to at least get over 400 so I loaded the bar with 405 and got it with 'great form' (so I was told by onlookers). I decided to drop back down and burn out with a 40-rep set of 135. I did some back work and some other stuff to finish. My body felt more and more invigorated with every exercise I did. I felt better and less exhausted upon completion of my training session than I did at the beginning.
I haven't experienced any effects (positive or negative) since I've been off Test. M-Stak sure does seem to increase my thirst. I can't get enough water...

Power cleans and front squats - gotta love 'em. Despite the physical exhaustion of football practice, I have still been focused in the gym.
I may have found my first 'withdrawl' effect from Test. I noticed that my forehead and shoulders have broken out with more pimples/zits than usual. It's not bad by any means, just noticably different than normal. I am still sleeping very well and feeling good in the morning.

Yesterday was dynamic upper body day for me. I felt decent throughout my entire training session, even with it being after football practice. I did some military presses, lat work, shrugs, etc. Although I felt good while lifting, the feeling is still not anywhere near what I felt when on Test. Power cleans for dynamic lower body is incredible. It's such a rush do 'em. I went up to 245 today. The air is broken in the weight room so it feels like 100 degrees in there (which probably isn't far from the truth).
I was recently invited to compete in a local raw push/pull meet. I have been giving it some thought and I'm about 75% sure I'll do it. This will be my first ever competition. It'll be at the end of October so I still have time to train. I might run another cycle of Test about that time...

I haven't had the opportunity to update my log lately. With football games in the evenings (JV games on Thursday and Varsity on Friday), I train right after school and don't get a chance to get on the computer much.
Yesterday I pulled some deads, did some Bulgarian split squats, and some other accessory work for lower body. hey hows the training going? i'm enjoying reading your log, interesting read. so is this your first experiences on test, but have done alpha mstak before? i have a question, looking back (now that you've completed your final mstak cycle??), how do you feel at each stage. a normal cycle that gets talked about it test/stak 42 days -> mstak after, but you chose to do test/m-stak and then stak -> mstak yes? why and how did you decide this, and i am really curious to your overall opnion of each mixture from you (e.g. was there a big difference between test/mstak and just mstak, and did you prefer test/mstak or test/stak?)
great log (and progress!), keep it up

Thank you. I don't 'feel' now like I did when I was on Test. The stuff is great. I decided to go with Test/M-Stak because I know my body responds very well to M. In fact, most of my weight gain came at the beginning of the cycle. Test/Stak was good, too; I think my overall strength increased more when I was taking Stak. The great part about it: My gains did not go away after the cycle. I will run another cycle of Test in the future. I'll probably do the 42-day Test cycle with 42 days of Stak next time. We'll see...

so even though your strength and size remain, by 'feeling great' do you mean inside the gym such as energy, focus, etc.? and it sounds like everything worked well but in different ways then? more weight gain on test/mstak but more strength on test/stak?
even more burning questions i'd be really interested to hear answered (sorry about this interview!):
your thoughts into why you would choose test/stak instead of test/mstak now, are you focusing on strength gains rather than mass/weight gains?
and what were the differences between your time on simple old mstak and at the start where you were on both mstak and test?
thanks :)

Don't apologize for asking questions. It's the people who don't ask questions I worry about.
Yes, the 'great feeling' is the focus, determination, and drive I felt while on Test. I'll run 42 days of Test with 42 days of Stak because strength is what I'm concerned with at this point. I'd rather weigh a bit less and lift a ton than be big and lift the same amount. I'm looking into possibly competing in an upcoming raw push/pull contest in late October and the bodyweight to weight lifted ratio is crucial. If I do it, I'll be competing in the 242 class and that division is tough around here.
In regards to the Test/M-Stak vs M-Stak... I saw more weight gain with the combo than with just M. Again, my drive and desire to keep lifting was high while on Test as well.

thanks for the answers Animal, keep up the log we're following
Yo, I'm about to run a stack very similar to that in the OP. Did you ever use any NO products on this cycle?
Also, would it be a poor decision to do test/mstak--test/mstak--stak to come off, or is the stak just not enough to guarantee maintained gains or something?

No, I didn't use any NO products. I've noticed that when I'm on NO stuff, my blood pressure remains high all the time, even at rest. I used to take Pump, but since I've been off it my BP has mellowed back out to normal. Guess I'm just a bit too sensitive to that stuff over prolonged periods of time.
As for the cycles, it's up to you and your personal goals. The Test/M-Stak cycle should yield some decent mass gains. After the cycle I honestly don't think Stak would be necessary, but it would be interesting to see the result.
I noticed you're in Orlando. Stop by the Orlando-area ABC and introduce yourself (http://forum.animalpak.com/showthread.php?t=10278).
