hello everyone this will be my journey a little background im 16 years old been traing for about 8 months right now my diet consists of 550grams protein,400grams carbs,80 grams fat weight is 230lbs at 20%bf looking to compete next summer so here we go

Awesome leg day bro! I'm subbed to your thread! I like what you were doing last couple of sessions w/the 20 rep sets. Those are killer, but they slap on the mass like none other! If you really want to thrash superset them w/20 rep breathing pullovers. Later!

the only gym close to me is a ymca the weight room there is only like 40ft by 20ft lol i had to buy my own home gym but im dwn to lift maybe they can even get another upstate abc set up

Nice chest day there bro! Short and sweet, nothing more or less needed! Like how you did the drop set to failure afterwards, you get the best of both worlds when work up to a max and hit a drop afterwards by stimulating both strength and mass gains.

i would like to update a little bit on this im in week3 of this diet and getting stronger,gaining muscle mass and leaning out quite fast and to fix my diet i get 575 grams of protein on off days and 600grams on workout days the only negative i see so far to tinys protein saturation is th fact that you look pregnant from all of the food but other than that im dropping fat like crazy without cardio and without cutting calories.

i figure the bigger my numbers get the bigger i get so far it continues to work just the basics lift big, eat big, sleep big, be big and its very simple but yet people still always seem to over analyze it all. hopefully i can be reppin out 405 before i start dieting for my first show

today was a good day but too my disapointment my calves are growing too fast they are now 18'' while my arms are only 16.5" so im cutting back the volume on them in hopes that they will just maintain there size and stop growing till my arms catch up.

thanx man and yea the focusing on form is great my arms have actually grew 1/4inch in just 2 weeks of lowering my weight so its defniently working.

thanx bro..i always feel guilty if i dont give 110% in a workout and yes i am finding it very har to sit down im actually working on a controlled falling technique where i dont have to go down slowly just more of a fall to the seat.

Maybe you're not "feeling" your reps. Try lowering the weights, contracting the muscle throughout the duration of the movement, slow down the negative phase. Also do a 3 sec pause at bottom of press.

ive been doing a 3 count down 3 count up with full range of motion but i havent try holding at the bottom ill start that next week for a few weeks and see what happens...thx.

Either a static hold or contracted pulse at the bottom would work well. You might also want to try the 1 1/2 reps method as well.

Either a static hold or contracted pulse at the bottom would work well. You might also want to try the 1 1/2 reps method as well.

biceps-palms up on bar slowly lower body till i feel it burning then lower some more and hold
shoulders-same as biceps except palms down
chest-dumbell fly held at bottom
back/lats-hanging from pullup bar with wegiht between ankles
quads/hammys-legs idk just doing those stretches runners do really but to a point of pain.
calves-on a 45lb plate heels on ground leaning forward till pain is acheved then holding it

Make sure you do it in a power rack, and do them "breathing style." Take in as many deep breaths as you can and just don't stop til you get to 20! It's all a mind game bro, get through the mental aspect of it and embrace the pain!

yea ive been hitting a steady 5lb up pr every week with my 20rep set of squats and i feel like i can do more so im going for a 25lb pr on them this week if all goes as planned im gonna go crazy next week and probaly try 300lbs for 20reps ..... and your right it is all in the mind especially with these squats once you past the pain your golden.

lol yeah bro been doing them for a while now that ive figured out that theres no way i could not get a new pr every week on them if my mind was right and thanks for the support now i have to get 300 for 20 shit maybe ill try that tommorow instead of 275lbs lol worst thing that could happen is i dont make it and just get a 5lb pr from last week...either way there will be a new 20rep squat pr for me...no matter what and your right since ive been going all out on squating and deadlifting the rest of my body has really been growing fast

Just make damned sure you eat those fibrous carbs, bro, or with the numbers you are hitting nutritionally you will run into some problems - gotta get the fibrous carbs in there, and a respectable amount of them. make sure the water intake is a gallon plus (again, with the amount of nutrition you are slamming, I would hope for a gallon and a half per day - if you go over, cool, but the way you're feeding your body hit the gallon and a half a day if you can).

thanks for stopping in and yea right now im eating a total of 5 cups of spinach a day which is about 30grams fiber with my other fiber sources added in i get around 50grams fiber a day and as for water i drink at least 2 gallons a day more on training days thanks again for stopping by

120grams fat
plus whatever else i feel like eating but the above is the minimum of what i eat daily and yes i plan on hopefully reaching 260 before i start dieting and i plan on coming in around at least 3-4% bf and as for my pre contest diet i have that and im gonna post it up in a few minutes...gotta eat again first

Ok just watched the vid and DAMN son! I could totally feel your pain by the 15th rep! At that point that fucking bar starts feeling heavy, trust me I know!
It was hard to judge your depth watching it from the front, so next time film it from the side cause that's the only real way to tell. I know you squat deep and could tell your hips were going at least parrallel, but again the way it was filmed it's really hard to tell.
When uploading vids to photobucket do you know if you can do quicktime vids on them? Cause I got some training vids I want to post but my digicam films them in quicktime, do you know if I could upload them on there like that?

I'd even maybe consider hitting a super high rep set once in awhile on the shoulder stuff (over 20). But I have no doubt your workout as written is profitable.

Bro you've got some good size on you, there's gonna be all kinds of lean mass under there, just got to lean out to show it off!
I highly recommend supplementing with some glutamine, if you're not already. It's supposed to be great during a cut to help maintian strength and size.
And just keep lifting heavy like you always do, that will also help maintain your size. What you probably should aim for is to keep the strength level you're currently at and not deload on any of your big lifts.
A lot of guys lose strength during cuts, but I think if you have the will and do it right you can keep your strength levels as well.
