Ok my first post didnt work so I will try again. I can make a routine for a 3 day split and so on but I want to try powerlifting. I have learned to love deads and squats. My question is how to make a beginer powerlifting routine? I have read in some that you squat 3 times per week and bench 2-3 times per week but I dont know where to begin. Can anyone point me in the right direction??

Thanks to all

That is a modified version of the rippetoe workout and madcow's 5x5. It will give you good gains if you want to start powerlifting. Also maybe buy the book starting strength by rippetoe, a lot of good stuff in there on how to lift correctly, etc. But i think that link is prob the best to start with. Really focuses on squats, deads, bench, press. Basically the major compounds. Theres no bs it will get u strong and big fast.

So what would be a good stack for this? I was thinking Pak Pump Whey and aminos.

yea that sounds good the main thing is to make sure your diet is geared towards gaining weight because when you want to lift big it will work better if your body weight is increasing at the same time. If your joints start hurting, which they might after a while id add flex but that looks good to start off with

Personally I think Rippetoe's is the best to start with:

As far as a stack goes: pak, flex, creatine, uniliver, and fish oil will cover all your basic needs.

Yea the link above might be better. It is the straight Rippetoe workout the one i gave was a modified version. You can compare the two and see which you think would work best but it is prob best to start out with the original since it has less sets

Yea man Rippetoe's program has been proven time and time again, it is the perfect program for anyone to start out with in any kind of weightlifting. Stronglifts 5x5 is also a good program but I think Rippetoes is better cause with less sets you can lift more intense and recover better in the long run.

assuming you have lifted before. Dont try to go up so fast. You want the big numbers but they will come you dont want to get hurt. Sometimes guys wont put a 25 on they will go for another plate while their energy is fresh. Slow and steady can help. At the meets in indy there is one douchebag who cant squat 700 then his next lift is 725 and the next is 750 even the guys with the big numbers are wierd. If you cant get it go down not up. Its not worth hurting yourself and then getting set back.

Save your money with the supplements and buy food. You only need some good whey and god multi maybe some creatine. The rest should be spent on milk and steaks. Time to put on some weight baby!!

dude, dont bench/squat/dead 3 times a week. at most 2 and one of those days being for speed work.

try west side barbell. greatest gains in size and strength ive made in years.
-gained .5 inches on my quads in 3 weeks
-.2 to arms
-gained a solid 5 pounds in 3 weeks too
- squat went up 20 pounds in 2 weeks and going to make it 30 today
-my previous week's 1 rep max became my next weeks 3 rep warm up[ set with 5 extra pounds added to the bar.
