I haven't really posted on the Forvm, but I just had to let you guys know that I just had the most fucking BA leg day of my life. I have been an advocate of Animal for a while, but lately I have just become fully engulfed in the lifestyle and Animal mindset. Whenever I go to the gym I completely prepare for battle and treat it like a fucking warzone, balls to the wall, but today was a different story.
I go with my boy who is like family to me and we are both equally engulfed in the lifestyle. We started out on the treadmill light for 10 minutes just to get a little warmed up. Then we hit up 4 sets of leg extensions (16-20 reps) to pre-exhaust the quads, something we never tried before. Then straight to the fucking power rack in the hot ass corner for low box squats. This is the corner of doom. There are literally rats inside the walls that you can hear screeching and gnawing from time to time. This just fuels the fire. Set it off with 135x10, then 185x8, 225x8, then say fuck it throw 275 on. Feels pretty easy at first but the pain kicks in - im lovin' it. I dig deep and think about the animal lifestyle and how much I love the pain. I start getting tunnel vision but i keep pushing. End up getting 9 reps which was a huge fucking PR considering my previous best was 255x8. After this madness we head over to do hack squats, something we havent done in a long time. Set it off with 2 plates each side x 10, then 2.5 x 8, then 3 x 8, then 3.5 for a quad destroying 4 reps. My quads were fucking burning but i was so amped. After this we hit the leg press. 4 plates each side x 15, 5plates x 12, 5 plates x 10, my legs felt like butter but had 1 more set to go. We decided to go fucking nuts with it and do a drop set for the last one. We started with 5 plates for 8 reps, then 4 plates to failure, then 3, then 2, then 1 until destruction. This was brutality. We were fucking dying after this one, but the animal image kept us going - Blood, sweat and tears - NO excuses. RDL's next. Kept em light and strict. 4 sets of 10 with 135 - really isolate the hams. Followed up with 4 sets of leg curls and then 4 sets of standing calf raises on the smith. DONE! 2 hours later, barely able to walk, we trudge outta the gym feeling incredible. The most epic leg day of our lives. This is the new standard. The fucking animal lifestyle - this is what we live for. I drive home and get outta my car and can barely walk - with every step my legs cramp up. Slowly make it inside and intake massive amounts of nutrients.
I feel like there arent many out there that understand what we do and why we love it so much, but the animal lifestyle is not for the weak. We have a threshold for pain and suffering like no others. Its days like this that we thank Animal for keeping us so fucking motivated and asking for more. Just wanted to share with the brotherhood what you guys do for us fellow animals. Strength and honor.
