hey guys, just wanna ask your suggestion or share some knowledge with regards to tanning, i wanna tan the natural way..i mean no tanning beds and other instant spray from some spa clinic or cosmetic clinic...

*how long should i stay in the sun?

*what to do, what to bring or any pointers before, during and after sunbathing?

*are there other natural ways to get tan easier?

*is it safe to be tan (i have fair skin) for a year?

*how often should i do this in a week?

*whats the best time to do some sun bathing or getting a tan?

tanx guys...btw sorry if i posted this in the wrong section, but for me getting tan is still part of my training..more power guys..(" ,)

I know this isn't really what you asked.... but if you're concerned about the skin cancer causing stuff in tanning beds, the sun will give you the same UV rays. When you say you want to tan the "natural" way for some reason it makes me think it's because you don't want skin cancer.

But if that doesn't bother you, than I say start out with 15 minutes each on your front and back, and then you can make adjustments depending on how dark you get so you don't look like one of those fake orange tanned broads....lol. It also really depends on how sensitive your skin is.

I tan naturally, and what I do is spray tanning oil on pretan, and lay out about 10-20 minutes on each side 3 times a week. I put sunblock on my tattoos so I don't fade them out and wear sunglasses for obvious reasons. Works fine for me that way. Just don't lay out too long, you should notice good results within a week or two.

I think alot of how long you have to stay out is based on your genetics... I tan amazingly well...

What I do is... I run... shirtless... for about 30 minutes every other day... in doing so my tan is REALLY even minus my thighs which I can't really help but thats not a big deal...

As for tanning oil... I don't use any... I don't need too... I just use a regular lotion with some Vitamin E and Coco butter... or if the UV index is really out of whack I end up using a low SPF sun screen like a 10 - 15 SPF...
