Sure all basic - compound exercises are great for size-strength if not injurioed, diet and cardio controls most of the cuts-bulk....but everyone is a bit different/we all are not genetically the same...We all can learn from each other and try different exercises, but
WE ALL HAVE TO FIND OUT WHAT WORKS FOR US...INDIVIDUALLY.

I know people who say "Yeah doing your routine now for months, nothing is happening!"

Well, there is NO perfect routine, and my bent over barbell row is different that the way you might do them, it is all about what are your goals, training with good form and learning more about your body....Sure if your goal is to build a thick-powerful-ripped chest, a couple sets of pec-dek and cable x-overs most likely won't cut it, unless you are a genetic freak...

Stay with the basic lifts, concentrate on good form, eat to grow/cut, cardio also to match your goals, don't copy other routines thinking you will get the same results and stay positive....

Very solid advice there BigAnt! You pretty much hit the nail on the head and put things in perspective. I know from personal experience I've tried others routines and saw minimal progress, it wasn't until I decided to branch out and learn things for myself that I started to truly make decent gains. A big part of the equation I think is one's mental attitude on things. And when you do for yourself and find what you believe will work for you that you apply positive enegy and effort towards it. No one likes to be told what to do, people have a natural tendancy to be independent and learn and seek knowledge on their own. By doing that a sense of accomplishment is achieved and it makes things all the more rewarding. Only you can find what works for you, and when you find it STICK WITH IT!

Your right BigAnt.

I wont lie..my first year and half of training. I did nothing but copy other bodybuilders workouts, splits, their form from the videos...only then until I decided to start following my own split, my own form, my own meal plans...I started getting bigger and stronger.

I take a few things here and there but I will never follow another bodybuilders or powerlifters routine again. Its a whole learning process that every beginner goes through I guess. I am still a beginner lol...I have so much to learn.

Yeah I agree. But after some time in the gym, you devellop and instinct about what works for you or not. Its always related to the basic like you said.

Shit like beginning your chest workout exercises isnt hype, its tried and true.

One thing I wonder though is about stopping squatting one day, to not have a butt too big lol. Im beginning to realize that squatter's ass dont look so cool haha.

Great post bigant! I agree with it 100%. Everyone is unique and an indvidual what works for someone might not work for the next. It really pisses me off when I see people asking what routine does this pro use and what supplements are they are - quite frankly it doesn't matter becuase youre not them and there not you. You have to find out what works best for you, this might be through traila an error but eventially we all find it.

Nice one BigAnt. What works for me is not going to work for you. You could always try to exercises to target certain muscles. But like big ant said my exercises work for me not nec. for you.
