what's the proper place to be trying to squeeze on stiff leg deads? i do my best to feel the pull in my hamstrings, but i feel like i might be missing them.

I don't do stiff-legs, but I feel it in my hamstrings and really all up my posterior chain (hamstrings, glutes, and back extensors) when I do romanian deads. I imagine it's the same. Do you start on the floor or at the top with stiff-legs?

i start at the top and i stand on a block to get a good stretch.

off a block gives you a better stretch.... it sucks alil bit more but i feel it alot more...

Yeah, I'm not flexible enough to need a block yet. I usually go down to mid-high shin on my RDLs, and when I feel a stretch in my hamstrings I pull back up to lockout. It took some feeling around to find my spot, though; where I was going down far enough to stretch my hamstrings, but not go so far that my back extensors would involuntarily unlock and send the bar crashing down to the floor.
It's one of my favorite exercises now.
