Look out your window, what do you see driving to work or even perhaps in your own neighborhood? An epidemic that is takign America by storm. And what is that you might ask? Laziness and Sloth. People jsut dont want to face the reality that discipline is the key to success. Kids are playing video games instead of getting active on sports teams, millions of americans are driving through mcdonalds or duncan donuts daily. Why do we live in such a materialistic society? The answer is consumerism. We live in an era of televison and instant messanging. Instead of going to the gym, people look to pills and dieting scams. Well you know what, its people like us that are sheding the light on the mistakes Americans consitently make.

This week has been a week from hell, pledging to a fraternity is not easy. Ive had limited sleep, but i still get my ass up every morning for breakfast, a plateful of eggs and a bowl of grits, god damn i look forward to that everday. Then i head off to class, with a 50min lifting session in between classes or immeadiatley after. Then its off to work at the house, scrubing toilets and doing shit no man should ever have to do, but you know what. the brotherhood and the discipline is worth it. After the tourture of cleaing, i have to hustle back eat dinner, and hawl my ass to a three hour study hall. And afterwards im on call for the house until 2am, with class looming at 8;00 the next morning, the idea of doing shit for the frat really can put you down, but you know what Ill take the pain of discipline over the pain of regret, and plus ive got a sick job at the house, i get to do security for the partys, no drinking jsut kicking people out that arent wanted..

Soo kick the epidemic, and break the norm. Train hard and long.

true, true, except it does not only relate to America, people are generally lazy,as you mentioned with the tabs and diets, they like to believe there is a easy way and want to just "slide" thru life with as few effort as possible

people tend to forget the REAL benefits of good old hard work

For them - ignorance is bliss. They find safety in their "myths". Nice post.

I was just talking about the same thing today. We live in an instant society, instant coffee, instant food, too much I say. We forgot that it isn't just the product it is the production. I for one love the trials that I go through. Everything means more when you earn it. Amen brother

i think it lies on our shoulders to begin the revolution of change. as parents it starts with us to educate and motivate not only our own kids, but those we come into contact with. get them off the couch and outside. all too often i see parents almost too afraid to let their kids out, afraid that they might hurt themselves or something. i spent 90% of my childhood outdoors, whether it be doing chores or out galavanting around. todays kids find it a chore to walk outside and go to the mall to hang out. we are raising a generation of lazy children, coupled with an ignorance and blind eye to the health issues surrounding it, and it makes me cringe.

As a parent myself, I agree 100% with you!

Everything y'all said is tru brothers. I am disgusted by some people and their habits and the "can't ****" mentality. (I can't lose weight, I can't workout cuz it is to hard or I don't have time).

But one positive thing is surrounded by the inferior and fat, we sure stick out even that much more! I may not be the biggest and the strongest guy around (far from it) but next to the general population, Animals are Gods amongst men.

...well hopefully the Animal mentality is genetic.

I don't want my kids (when i have them) to end up fat, lazy whiners.
I can only lead by example.
