View Full Version : can someone explain
im on a bulk right now and on a routine that changes weekly to keep my body guessing
why do people say to run on empty stomach in the morning?
does this burn more bf% and make you want to eat mroe throughout the day?
also how long should this run be 10-15 mins?
mid september ill be starting a powerlifting type routine de/me loads with 1-2 cardio day
can anyone with experience with this map out a basis that i can go off of

I believe the general consensus on that is you'll burn the most calories that way. If you're on a bulk that would probably be counterproductive since you'd be burning so much doing that. If you're on a bulk just stick to a good training program and ditch the cardio, save it for cutting.

actually I would never really recommend running on an empty stomach... probably that's why your question was about 10-15 mins
opt for a lower intensity if you do it on an empty stomach, and consider having some eaas before

by running first thing in the morning on a relatively empty stomach (eat a banana or a couple pieces of toast before) you set your metabolism for the day and it gets your body burning at a faster rate. not a good idea if you're trying to bulk.
any kind of cardio training on an empty stomach is said to help burn more overal bodyfat... the idea behind this is that your glycogen levels are already depleted from the 8 hour fast you had from the night before... with this your body has to burn a lot less to get to the fat... glucose is the bodies primary energy source next is fat... with no glucose in the system you get to the fat burning part of cardio much quicker... defintely take in some kind of aminos prior to or your going to go catabolic and start loosing muscle so be carefull.. ESPECIALLY if you are running... keep the intensity low...
I think this is completly counterproductive to a bulk diet... while bulking i dont do any cardio.. it just means i have to do more to get in shape.. think about it.. if your doing cardio 4 times aweek on a bulk how much do you have to do to get lean... double sessions probably... NOT FUN
