View Full Version : Back to basics...building your foundation!
Some of the newer guys need to check this out before looking into all these crazy and long workouts....it's been said before on here but I feel like it needs to be emphasized again. You got to do the basic compound exercises to build a solid foundation. Just like BIll says in the video below: "If your building a house, you have to build the foundation of that house before you put on the walls or the roof...if you don't and you just try to put the wall and the roof on it's just gonna fall down"

Good post bro!
Everything the guy preached there is so true!
If novices went that route rather than jumping right into a 5 day a week high volume split they would be so much better off.

Yep funny how he made little to no gains doing all the high volume stuff then when he got on an abbreviated program with just a few compound movements the gains started coming!

The basics are "essential". Simply no doubt about it.
