Rack pull ups. They are a great exercise. While in like a smith machine, or a squat rack, set the bar kinda low, and take a incline bench and set it to where you can put your feet above your head. Throw some plates on your lap and do enough pull ups where you fail, then push the plates off your lap.

Rack pull ups. They are a great exercise. While in like a smith machine, or a squat rack, set the bar kinda low, and take a incline bench and set it to where you can put your feet above your head. Throw some plates on your lap and do enough pull ups where you fail, then push the plates off your lap.
I guess I missed the "rack" part. I was like Holy shit that much weight with regular pulls! DAMN!! But anyway,Im gonna have to try them but I love having that 45 swinging between my legs and knock out 6-8!
Legs, did them in reverse today. My calves are still toast from fridays hour thrashing, then i did tons of sprints on saturday that made them even more sore. So i dropped calves and did another mass builder instead for legs.

I was trashed dude. Sometimes these Mirror workouts are just what you need to break out the routine. I seriously sometimes think this kinda routine is harder then Heavy stuff. I swear that 135 was harder then 405 on squat, and 6pps is something i normally do just to warm up before 1000lbs on leg press.

Oddly enough, you have caught me in a light cycle. Been hitting higher rep sets here lately, and not as focused on the heaviest sets. NExt week i think i am getting back under the heavy bars. Kinda miss 400's on squats.

i cant imagine ever squatting first again,haha.I skipped the leg press today,next week higher numbers on squats + ill be doing leg press prior!

This is always nice to hear. It lets you know you are doing everything right! I was at a show last year in Arkansas, and the night before the show, I was in the hotel's gym taking a look around, and one of the judges walked in, and instantly assumed I was competing.

I could always be leaner. During 12 weeks of prep, I found out that was not enough for my legs to come in, so I still have room for the improvement.
But I have always said and will forever maintain, this body was made for fighting... not so much for bodybuilding. But I try anyway, and I am getting there.
The remainder of this year shall be very good to me.

My guess? Prolly your tricep strength. Flyes and crossover are strictly chest, but bench is a compound movement that relies on front delt and tricep strength too. If those parts are "Weaker" they dont contribute as much to the press, so the numbers are lower. Once shoulders and Triceps gain some strength and mass, your bench will increase with ease. You havent even hit the one year mark, so you have plenty of your best gains still coming. First 2 years see the most growth and strength increases.

In regards to T.'s chest dramas. I would suggest reading that article i posted up in training re tweaking your bench. It made such a difference to me. Pushing out 100kg now easy.
Legs. My lowerback was still fuckered up from deads, but all in all i feel good. First time going "Heavy" in awhile, but since my back was trash i felt pretty good about it. NExt week i am looking to get back under 365, then two weeks from now, 405.
Squats. Slow as hell, i hated myself for it. But, i made sure i went as low as i could, and since i had been working on for with all these high rep days, it was alot deeper with better form then ever before.

My YMCA has a huge lane that leads to the BBall court, so i normally load up a short straight bar and do lunges from the end of the hall to the reception desk. I always get funny looks for it, but hey, i pay membership feels just like anyone else.
Eddie, that superset should play hell. I think start light on the leg press and heavy on Hacks, then over 6 sets, go heavier on leg press and lighter on hacks. The change should really shock the muscles.

Lying Db curls are far more effective then machine leg curls. You have to keep your feet together using other muscles, such as calves, and adductors, or which ever one is on the inside of the leg. Not to mention after the 60lbers i fell of the bench cussing cause my hams cramped up from them.

Im still in High school. Long story, involves a teacher with a meth addiction and me getting held back. As for the 315, i am shooting for that in a couple of years. goal is to get it 24-25 years old. My frame is pretty big, and i am no where near filling out yet. And, shoulders have always been a strong point. I am the only guy in my high school who can seated db press the 100's for 6. Or at all.

So no go at Wendy's. What a shame. But, things look good for me working at a local grocery store. All i have to do is carry out bags for people. Gets me discounts on food, an only 20-24 hours a week. Most of that on saturday and sunday. I think i can handle that.

Hey, you are back to Watchmen status, badass! It was a machine, started below the feet, so it had a long pull. And thick rubber grips that rotated. Felt good though, could get a full stretch and contration without hitting my chest with the plates.

Lol, i once was gonna write a rendetion of when the ants go marching in about animals. I get bored, and rhymes and poems form in my head. Yea, I was sweating buckets, after every set i would wipe my hand through my hair and squeeze it off. My dad had to wring out his shirt to get some of the sweat out. And contoured grips are great for pressing, but ruin your grip for rowing. I will take a straight handle any day.

Just one of those fluke things. We all have done it i am sure. Every other one felt good and easy, just popped up a lil to quick. Thought about fixing it, but then thought, eh its only one more rep, surely it wont fuck anything up. Fix it when you think about it.

i went to deep with to much weight and couldnt go back up lol

Lol, first time i tried 405, it was prolly one of the funniest things i have ever done. I was still fresh to lifting, and wasnt really going ass to grass like these days. I did 5 reps where i dropped just a couple inches. My dad said alright, you have had your fun, now go deep. I got to paralell, then the next thing i know i am looking at the floor. Thank g-d for safety catches.

I like hittin them on monday, because you are fresh, had a couple days to prep up, and a full week to recover. And yea, for some reason Monday is the Chest and biceps/triceps day. They seem to stagger what part of the arm they train, but you can count on the flat to be gone, and every other peice of chest gear to have a line.

Damn Maharg I am loving the volume dude....awesome. My volume has been out of this world lately and I am responding well. It's taking a toll on my conditioning though which is not the greatest. Keep up the good work and I like the consistency of your log here.
Hey, volume seems to work for me. It worked for Ahnuld, it should work for me if i cut the volume in half. Still wish i could have done legs with Tom Platz back in the day. Nothing like 100+ sets for legs.

Well, routine kinda changed today, had planned on back, but my dads neck was bothering him, so wound up doing chest. Was in two gyms working seperate body parts today. first session, calves. Had a buddy doing legs at the Y, and since i had 40 minutes to kill so i asked if he wanted to work calves with me. He said yes so i said i was gonna make him cry.

100x100. I got 50, then had to stop, ease out the cramp, then finished up with 2 sets of 25 with less then 5 breathes between failure and the next set. done in the 75 style only more reps.

Bring em to the top,and hold for a sec.Normal release down.Its a current pr from this monday,after a Am back session,2 hours of climbing,then one hour of rest.
Oh and single..Not much of a swing at all,tad lean thats it.
Some dude was using the ones with good grip for Incline Pressin,i asked to jump in using them while he took his 5 min rest(he had a m&F guide to "get big").He said no,theres others over there.You shouldve seen his face when i grabbed the others and just started curling them..haha
My dad has been busting my nuts to make sure I flex every muscle all the way up and down. Thats why i have been dropping numbers on curls. I used to bust out the 65's, but now the 50's are as high as i can go keeping tension. I think it hurts most on squats though. You really want to throw up flexing your quads on squats.

I dont think it is pre exaust with you. I think it is more a good warm up then anything else it seems. i think after we do a lil warm up, then we head over to the squat rack and lay it down with 225.

Didnt doubt you didnt lay it down on the extensions, just seems like it is more warm up then anything. I jsut consider pre exaust leg extensions, leg curls, leg press, hacks, then squats.

I think you should talk with the local navy recruiter, at one of the local YMCA's in springfield, they have a former SEAL come in and train people for special ops. They say the guy can do 1000 push ups, it takes him a hour. The recruiter said the guy hadnt lifted in 4 months, walked into the gym, and benched 350.

I know you are going AF, But the SEAL dude trains Everyone. AF, Army, USMC, CG, you want to train he teaches you.

AF doesnt require you to do a whole lot of running. get some good running shoes first, then yea, every other day would be fine for running. St. Johns has a running track out side, put it to use. cushioned landing, ease of use, and pull up bars outside. You are set dude.

I thought it was like the school tracks. Well, then run inside, AC is a life saver for these summer runs. I jsut suggested good runnign shoes cause alot of people run in like basketball shoes or tennis shoes, which i dont think have enough heel support.

Work might just fuck up my routine. I work monday and wednesday, so this week will just be doing a 3 day split, then next week my dad goes to Pittsburg, so i will be working out on my own when i can manage, unless i head up to lift with Eddie, or i get saturday and sunday off, and head up there for the abc.
And sorry Ej for not texting back, after i sent you that message, I went into the hospital to see my best friends lil girl, and i couldnt have my cell phone on. And woods will punish any workers seen with their cells phones out texting, so prolyl not good to do that on my first day.
