I decided to start this on a whim. I am 16, in ten days 17, 25%bf i train with my dad who keeps me going and is the best guy i could ever lift with. I am going to start this off with my chest work out from yesterday.

Simple down to earth and to the point. I did the pressdowns on the lat pull cuz if you guys have never done it i reccomend it just do to the way the pullys are different it makes it so much harder. At tradtional triceps press i rack the stack and do 200 for 8. I will admit i was distracted at one point because this new guy came in and was trying to kill himself for the sake of a high bench number then walked over and asked me if I do steriods and if I do would I sell him some? I told him no I don't and he shouldn't do that stuff until he been lifting solid for atleast 10 years.

looks pretty solid bro, yeah i've tried the tri's on the pulldown, i knwo watcha mean.
when you're doing the decline skulls, does it hit the heads differently, because that's what i would be thinking?
ya you should be hitting your head at about the middle and you can actully do these on a flat bench you just angle you elbows up more. As for how it hits the muscle it puts a lot more stress on them but im not sure the best way to describe the feeling you would be best trying them on your own and seeing how you like them.

nah never on the floor but i have heard about them i might have to give them a try on my next arm day.
Today was a good day it was one of my fave groups to work back with the least fave group biceps. I do back without straps to try and build my grip up some so thats why my numbers are lower i can normally go about 275 with straps on the pulldowns.

All of the burn outs are done on life fitness machines becuase i couldn't get the gym owner to buy the good free weight stuff and she wound up spending 50Gs on the life fitness gear when that could have bought a huge amount of free weights and got us up to 150lbs DBs but nope screw the heavy lifters. And know I am ranting but this is my log.

Don't have to worry about that part I plan on reaching 250 at 18% bodyfat by 21yrs old and I tell myself that everyday.
Okay today i have a killer sinus infection that hurts like hell. I have been spending most of the day sneezing out blood. The worst part about it though is that it fell on my leg day of all days. I am seriously not sure if i am gonna be able to give it my all today.

I honestly cannot believe your 16yrs old with such a determined and focused workout ethic behind you. I am impressed. Your numbers are awesome and your workouts are solid. I am looking foward to seeing your progress over the next few months.
I wasn't quiet at full blast but i still got a big ass pump from it. We just got in a bunch of new gear and one was a isolateral leg press so you know i put that to use. And the squat bar is a 55lbs bar that never bends.

Well thats it in a nut shell. Sneezed blood just once the whole time i was there. My hams were already pretty blasted just due to the leg press it hit everything a lil different and a lot harder. My squats are normally in the 400s but since we started with leg press the numbers dropped quite a bit. My leg press on a normal leg press is usually 1000x12 but that new iso felt so different i couldn't go nearly as heavy. And going down stairs is now a controlled fall if i am lucky.
Today during yard work you boy Maharg cut his knee cap with a chainsaw. No worries though cuz ill still be back monday working back

At the moment I am not on a diet but I plan on starting one in march so I can try and drop some bodyfat. And thanks for the compliment I have always been naturally pretty powerful but I got strong fast when I started trying to keep up with my dad who is also my training partner. But once i start my diet I will post it one here.

Pretty short and sweet. I had a hard time going heavy on deads because my glutes still hurt from my friday leg workout. And on the hammer Strength low row i was going by just the weight on one side not the total amount. Other than that nothing really to report.
Unlike most everyone else I absolutly hate working chest and unlike everyone else I love leg day. But today was chest so I went through it with the mindset its a leg day so suck it you big wuss. Graham benching is something my dad came up with to make sure your chest will explode in blood and acid. What you do is start with ohh in my case 135 then do that for 4 reps, no big deal, put a quarter on each side go for 4, put a quarter on eachside go for 4 and so on till you hit failure then drop a quarter on each side do it for four until you are back where you started. It doesn't sound like much but those quarters add up to a dollar in a hurry. And don't rest for more than 30 secs in between those sets.

I felt like shit today. had a killer headache from my NO booster cuz i OD on it. I should have had the 415 but once i got it in the air my grip slipped and it just fell to the floor and the gyms AC was busted so it was in the 80's which was just a tad warm for me.
Lets see since i quit writing in here i decided to up date some of my lifts to a more current status, and i never max out all of these are from the middle of my working set.

I was really happy about hitting the new bench number cause I have always wanted to bench more than +400 by the end of high school and since i keep getting my bench creeping up i think i might be able to do it. The only problem with yesterday is i woke up with a headache an a nose bleed which meant the day could only get better. And when i went red in the face from benching my max i started to bleed again. But hte worst was when i woke up with a nose bleed cause no body wants to wake up.

So I am back. I had to lay off teh gym for a few days due to getting strep throat which laid me out pretty bad. how ever the first 2 days i showed signs i hit 2 new maxes, go figure. Then after i recovered I took a scheduled week off to let my body heal. But now I am back and feeling good. How ever like any time you take some time off i am a lil week.

Yeah those T-bar rows are the shit bro. Are those "low rows" barbell rows? You should incorporate those if you're not for some quality back thickness.
Nah I am not doing barbell rows right now its simply the machine row. However I have already drew up my next routine and barbell rows are the first exercise. And thanks for the encouragment guys.
Arms and shoulders today. I was a lil tired but not enough to be willing to slack on anything. On my kick backs the numbers are low because the way me and my dad do them are to bring them up and flex teh tricep for 3 seconds and it burns like a MOTHER!

And that was it. I used a lot of cable this routine and i kinda feel bad my next routine is gonna be all free weights but until the end of the next 6 weeks this is how its gonna go. And i have to say the rope pressdowns on the lat press was great once you flared the hands the blood just poured into the triceps.

Well a woman walks up and he takes her over to the leg press and says stay here walks over to where my dad is military pressing and I am spotting when he walks up and goes are you guys using the leg press? I say no its all yours. He goes back to the lady puts 3 plates on a side and shows her how to use a leg press with "proper form". It consisted of unlocking then relocking your knees. the woman was a lady i had talked to before had, had major knee surgery and said this hurt her knee. he says "Just do them the way i showed you". The next time i see them should i tell her she needs a new trainer? I dont know why i was paying attention to this i just like getting to know the new people.

Good lord my legs are pumping. That last drop set on leg press hurt like HELL!! by the end of it i had to grab the seld to pull myself up. I think toward the end of the set my legs were so locked i was more pulling them down then pushing the weight up. But man i look forward to next week so i can out do myself on the leg press and try and total 150 reps for the last set.

I'd say wearing wing tips and slacks that he doesn't sound too "trainer-esque" to me. If I were in your possition I would have said something. I understand that when we are in the gym we are there to do our thing but I'm not about to watch someone hurt themselves because of someone elses ignorance.... I would have been an ass enough to make Slick Willy get under the sled and "show me proper technique or get the fuck out!" That's my 2 cents though....

Whoo man did i have a good day. my arms were pumped and it just felt good. I hate doing triceps before shoulders cause my weights drop so much but hey rotations gotta keep rotating. After i got done working out my buddy was trying to get my 106lbs to do pull downs with him weighing 160lbs standing on the loading pegs ( our lat pulldown/low row is a free weight loader). Well i laugh, walk over, and bust out 12 reps with him standing on it. the first rep he wasnt expecting me to do it so when i pulled down he hit his head on the metal cross bearing.
Oh and I won a free t shirt from animal cauze i made it to the BB.COM forum in time. So YaY for me i never win anything.
Ok this week i won a free animal t shirt and i just found out i Have won Animal Pump and Torrent. I have never in all my life been as lucky as i have in the last 2 days. Heres todays leg workout. I think i should add to all this about the reasons i am so strong for my age. I come from a bodybuilding family cause my dad has been doing the whole bodybuilding thing since around 18 and has always encouraged me to be active and do stuff as well. Another reason is because well im a big ass farm boy, i have spent alot of my days digging holes in missouri limestone just to build a garden, hauling dirt, carrying rocks for flower gardens, and cutting trees and hauling them for firewood( and we used to do it only by axe). I am also a big user of "functional" strength Because after i took down a big buck a couple of years ago the only way to get it out was to throw it on my back and walk it back to the deer camp which was fun as hell, like doing lunges with 300lbs on your back. and while its not true deadlifts i got a strong back from picking up rocks and logs which raises the hell out of your grip cause i do true farmers walks. Anyways this was way longer then I had first planned so i am out. And thanks for all the kind words giant killer.

No legs today (Friday) because 2morrow i am doing a bunch of strong man events like tug o war, and truck pulls, so i decided i would need all the leg strength i can muster. but i will prolly work them on saturday when i get back home.

I have actually gone hunting a few times, I really enjoyed the great outdoors and getting up at 3 A.M. I also liked archery a lot, did not enjoy the actual killing part lol

I said i didnt quit working out that will never happen. And i First in my events. The tug war was a fucking breeze you had to start in push up postion push off grab the rope and go. I was the fastest off the wistle and anyone who grabbed i just pulled. The truck pull took first got it over the line in 30 secs. If we went to the same colege you know i would train with you.

Actully i am not sure. I might skip college and go right into military, but if i go college i become a officer. Havent made up my mind yet. You know you should go military to and be a firefighter. After they put you on your first base you can request a specific base. We go same place and we could powerbuild as a team.

Strong and Shapely is where Schack and them work out. Ya we could stay in a hotel that would be fine but it aint gonna be this summer. Its gonna take a huge amount of cash on my end to fly and everything then the room fees, it will prolly have to be next summer. I'd prolly stay like 4 days so that we could do back and legs if we wanted or we could just do one then you show me around town.

I like alot of drop set with back because back is a problem area in my opinion alot of people say its strong but drop sets are the only thing that i know that make my back tore up and pumped.
Hey endo I think my parents will help send me up to Jersey. And I think I will start going heavier on my deadlifts so that it wont be so drastic of a weight difference. Hehehe Maybe by the time i get there i will out dead you.

i think you got me on upper back strength,im working on it though..
my back workouts are compromise of
deads,wg pulldowns and barbell rows.those are the three staples.
accesories are,diff gripped bars for pulldowns,db rows,t-bars(not a fan),reverse bar pullups(slow/contractin)
i usually pick 2 accesories,im also upping my cardio so i can hit the gym harder.
415 for 4?
thats a bit off difference,but then again ive only pulled 425x5 and i can 1rm 485 right now.

The 375 was actully where i could have prolly popped another 2 reps out. And i said im gonna try not that i would succeed first attempt.

Rock climbing is the best! I love that! You did free hand as well? Wow! You have to be flexible to rock climb. I am thankful that I am as flexible as I am cause at some points my short legs were just not able to find their place and I would rely alot on my upper body and flexibility to get me moving upward..then again..I never tried it free hand..wow! Cool!

We never really climbed any high spots the highest point we climbed was around 20ft and i had to use alot of upper back to help me along but it was getting out of the hole that sucked ass. from the low point of the canyon it was around 110 ft and we found a kinda wash out we could walk up to get out and thats what made my legs hurt so much.

Whoo that burned. All the heavy benching got the blood moving then the cable crossovers made my chest feel like it was about to pop. At the end when we headed over to the streching room my dad bet me i couldnt do 3 push ups. I couldnt do one my chest just collapesed on me.

i got you outweighed quite abit on a heavy day i walk in weighing around 230-235ish. On a normal day i weigh about 220-225 but i have quite abit more Bf than you from my days of being a fat kid.

no what you mean. I would love to be 200lbs with the same muscle mass. Once i get the cash i am gonna do 6 or so cycles of animal cuts and se if i cant drop about 12% bodyfat. I am about 23% right now im sad to say.

This routine was kinda devised because my dads knees were hurting and he didnt want to have to go so heavy on squats and honestly i kinda like it this way to. I know that by still being able to move 315 at the end of a brutal leg workout my legs are still getting stronger and i look forward to getting back under heavy squats to lead off with. Look for a 500lbs squat by November and once teh winter months hit i am doing a powerlifting routine so i can go and break all my schools weight records for my weight class of 215 at the moment.

Monday back: Close grip pull downs full stack for 10, shrugs, dumbbell rows (100lbs for 4 sets of 10)pull overs, Reverse grip bent over rows.
Tuesday chest: Incline press cybex machine working up the 305 stack for 8, Flyes, dumbbell press 3 sets of 12 or failure, front bar raises, arnie press, machine shoulder press
Wednesday off
Thursday arms: Barbell curls, reverse curls, machine curls, Close grip bench, skulls, machine extensions.
Friday legs: Seated leg curls 5 sets of 10, Leg extensions for 5 sets last set drop set from 305 to 55 which hurts like a bitch, Calf press, Leg press, Squats.
And i got curious and went and weighed my self and i am weighing 210 now with gain of strength.

But i have good news, A lady i know who is a body builder is opening her own hardcore dungeon and is having me in charge of all the new weights and equipment, So its kinda like christmas shopping. She is cutting memeber ships to a max of 65 people with their own keys to the place and she is only taking in hardcore powerlifters and bodybuilders. She is even setting up a display case for trophys and swords the bodybuilders win.

Well i guess you could fly down here to train. My house has a spare bedroom and we have about 8 tubs of protien so you could still get your dailys. But the lady who runs it is awesome. And not to mention you will see some big mother fuckers at the place. We have 3 competive bodybuilders and 1 guy who competes in strong man comps who we might get atlas stone molds for. Not to mention i am talking her into getting chains for the bars.
Tired of being in the same old routine for awhile and felt like doing something new. So didnt feel like giving up my bodybuilding and wanted to lift heavy sooo... powerbuilding, just like diesel makes. well it didnt go as smooth as planned. My body forgot the flat bench press and my numbers where so down it made me sad. Thats ok though cause i did enough bench today to make it remeber. It being the first day of the routine it needed a run through to work out the kinks. Next week one more warm up set and start a lil lower

Strong kid, real strong. You are soo lucky to people to lift with family. Probably the best partners in the world lift, eat, and rest together. Keep it up!
Legs today. I did them today instead of yesterday cause my dad agreed to go to a bigger gym to do legs and we worked out for about 2 hours. And the numbers are low in my eyes cause i am way stronger at around 4 oclock. Thats when my body is used to lifting so thats when its at its strongest but we were under the squat bar by 11 so my body was weak.

A long very hard workout. It felt great though cause i got to do so much work and enjoyed every moment of it.
Apparently the gym we went to wasn't used to people doing legs or moving much weight cause on my last set of leg press i drew a crowd to watch with out meaning to. I would have captian morgan stanced if i wasnt about to throw up my breakfast. The leg adductor was a great machine and hit my legs in ways they have never been hit before.
Then when i got home i found out i got hired to a new job so i get about 300 bucks every 2 weeks. New supps here i come.

While i was doing deads two 14yr olds were watching and thought i was gonna do cleans with it. then while me and my dad were doing pull downs they were doing squats and they had they worst form i have ever seen. so i go and offer to help them but the lil'est one says his way is better with the pad and putting it on his traps. To keep the bar from falling off his buddy had to hold it down. So i laughed and said when you want to learn how to lift the right way find me. Then they went and tried to max on bench. I had to pull the 95lbs the kid was trying to bench off his chest. The kid weighed about 100lbs from what i could guess. And when that bar went down that fast i knew he was trying to show off (the littler one of the 2) and it was great to see the look on his face when he realised he had messed up and i picked it up off him.

I am doin it with body building in mind but at the moment i have never done a cut after spending my life as a fat kid so while my body fat is oly around 20% you just cant see what i have to really offer. I plan on getting enough cash to get 3 cycles of Cuts and see what i look like underneath it all. Then i will post the pics but later i might post some pics of my better parts like calves and legs and stuff. My chest sucks but everything else is pretty good in my eyes so far.

Lifting that heavy weight is going to give you some dense muscle underneath it all. I hear you though. I wasn't really asking for pictures as much as I was making the point that you don't know if it's working for you until you see the muscle grow.
My chest is my weak point too. Mostly from using poor form for a long time. I'm blasting it now though.
I think you have a leg up on the competition so to speak, especially on other 17 year olds. Keep movin' that weight.
I decided to kinda keep this as a bit of a journal too so heres what i have had on my mind lately:
People always ask me what all this weight and supplement stuff is gonna take me. I always say i want to do it for me to enjoy and to be a big SOB. They say with all this extra size I should be doin football or wrestling. I always just say no its not what i want for myself. They say oh it wont do you any harm. Tell that to my friend who has had 2 broken arms and a shattered leg. Well accidents happen. If you keep your form right in weights and use a spotter its hard to hurt yourself. Well are you sure you should use all those unnatural things? what protien creatine and glutamine? your body makes that itself but not nearly enough for what i want. What about that cuts stuff you talk about it sounds dangerous. Its all natural and by a company i trust with my body. Well don't hurt yourself with all that stuff. Its about this time i have normally walked away if not sooner cause i cant deal with ignorance of choice.
The body type i most admire is guys like Dennis Wolf and Ox. They have amazing size but keep the tight waist with a great V taper. I have discovered through posing practice that i do have a V taper just not enough in my eyes cause i carry fat around the waist and hips. But when i flare the lats and raise the chest it can be seen. I do hope to one day pull of the Wolf look.
How many people worry about losing muscle size due to boot camp more than missing family and friends? Honestly i fear the thought of Boot Camp for the marines cause of the 3 mile runs and not enough meals to live on. I dont think the core would like the idea of me bring a protien shaker along with some supps for the trip and runs. Maybe some cuts though to make the runs a bit easier. And alot of Flex cause running hurts my knees alot.
I want huge giant legs. I mean like giant red wood tree trunks. Do to this i love squats and leg days in general. Drop set leg presses, drop set squats, supersets with hack squats and leg press. Its all gravy. Ever put 20 plates a side on leg press and repped out til failure and then took a plate off and repeat all the way down to just one plate a side? You will see the face of God just before you see the trash can. Put 415 lbs on your back and ride that out for 8 reps all the way down and 3/4 the way up to never give the quads a break and then strip that down to 325 and repeat till 145 till you fall over. Been there. Nose bleeds from deadlifts? Did it. Bruises on the traps from high bar squats? Badge of honor. You name it i have tried it
I love stretch marks. I have them on my biceps and they are showing on my lats and legs now too. The leg ones are small but there, and make me proud but the ones on my lats are the ones i am most proud of due to the fact back is a problem of mine. It is hard for me to get my lats as sore as my legs or chest but dammit i try and its starting to show. Next i need chest stretch to really show. Oh ya i got them on my triceps as well.

Just didnt feel it today. My body had shut down because of all the rain and it just wanted to sleep and it pissed me off. So i focused on getting a pump and not heavy weights.

Focused alot on the pump instead of the weights again and it made my back really sore from alot of high reps. But next week it will only be 1 width movement then alot of thickness movements to make up. Did 30 minutes of running on the tread mill to get myself ready for basic training even though i still have over a year. Figure if i can get it to where i run for 90 minutes straight at a even pace, basic will be a breeze. And i have been doin PT movements on my own to get that up to par as well.

I like cables when i dont have a spotter for skull crushers so i normally drop them out and do alot of heavy stacks for reps. I didnt really work that heavy today otherwise i would have racked the 200lbs stack. But i wanted to keep my form right and not lock out and keep the muscle doing the work. The biceps were as simple as can be cause it works.
I found me some victims for a leg day today. They are just used to doing straight sets of 10 8 6 for squats and think that they can hang with me for 20 reps with 225 then drop sets, giant sets, every kind of murder there is is gonna happen. Workout aint gonna stop till one of them drops. Say a prayer for them my brothers.

Well andy didnt show but Phil gave it hsi all. We decided to split the leg day up a bit and come back for hamstrings later. I even got a video of me doing 1050 on leg press for 4 reps. I will post teh full leg day later. But it was fun.

It was normally a set i could bang out a tough 8 with but for some reason my hams just betrayed me and i was fucking pissed. I decided i am jsut gonna take next week off. Been going strong for bout 24 weeks without break so a week of just cardio to rehab my right elbow tendon, hamstrings, anything else thats wrong with me. My dad agreed because his tendonitis and knees are acting up. Sounds like a good time to heal, eat, and recuperate.

It was a good weekend. after getting up at 5, spent saturday up in a deer stand waiting for something to wander by. Then nothing happend so i slept in the stand for 20 minutes. After we got down and out of the woods and met back up me and my dad went to the local diner and grabbed some cheesesteaks for lunch, headed on into springfield and dropped 50 bucks on supps. I got me some Paks and he got some flex. We then went meandering around and visited some lesser known supp shops and man there is nothing funnier. I had a guy who weighed maybe 160 at 6'2 try and tell me what supps i should take to get HUGE and lose weight at the same time. I looked around and the guy didnt even carry a single universal product. We still walked around seeing what he did have and while we did the guy tried to sucker in some poor fella into buying some prohormones for the guys son who is my age and completely skipped any of the basics like protien. I just laughed and left. he wasnt even trying to lie to the guy he was just that stupid. So my dad pulled the guy over when he left and set him straight.
6'2 160 in ambercrombie hoodie= someone not to take advice from.

Put the peg on the lowest level of a cable crossover and with a tricep rope. Put your hands underneath the ball and get it comfy cause the plastic might serve to irrate. Pull up to your nipples and get your elbows as far back as they will go flexing all your upper back muscles. You will mostly feel it in the middle of your back like the detail muscles if you do it right. Almost forgot rotate your hands from a thumbs up to thumbs facing each other.
it actually was a really good pump by the end.

BW current 210 goal is 190.
Overhead press 225 for atleast 6 current is 185 for 6
Bench 335 for atleast 1 current is 275 for 5
Squat 455 for atleast 8 current best is 405 for 6 before screwed up ham
Deadlift 405 for 8 best is 375 for 6
Pull-ups i want to be able to do 30 in a minute and 50 for failure in one go current is 22 in a minute and 26 for failure

Yo Maharg on squats I've found lately that putting my hands out superwide and keeping my chest up high/"puffed out" improves my breathing in a huge way. Instead of using a "natural grip", go wide like you're putting your arm around a hot young lady. This will actually increase the area in which your lungs can expand.
You may already be doing it this way, but if you're not, hope that helps.

Actually that will be something i try. I normally only keep my hands with the thumbs on the rings. I have tried other grips but it tends to throw me off.

Never even tried them. I love the back squat so thats the lift i stick with. I have been trying to get under some front squats but by the time i finish back squats i am dead. I actually just passed out for 10 minutes a few minutes ago. It just takes that much out of me.
