This recipe is from Jay Cutler, I always have a bag of em to snack on in the library along with a protein shake.
1/2 cup Brown Sugar
1/2 cup Sugar
3 Egg Whites
1 tsp. Vanilla
1 1/2 cups Flour
1 tsp. Baking Soda
1 tsp. Cinnamon
3 cups Old Fashion Oats
1 1/2 cups Unsweetened Applesauce (make sure it's the natural shit, none of that kiddy, sugar injected stuff)
I did some experimenting with the recipe over break....here's the one I use...
6 Egg Whites
1 tsp. Vanilla
1 1/2 cups Flour
1 tsp. Baking Soda
1 tsp. Cinnamon
4 cups Old Fashion Oats
2 cups Unsweetened Applesauce
not as sweet as the first one listed...but if you like apples (favorite of mine) then you'll like the modified recipe more...
I will warn you...this shit is like crack.
oh yeah, toss them in the oven on 300, should take only 10 minutes, but if you want them crunchy then 15 minutes

Before I make this today, does it come out crunchy like a granola? I just want to know what to expect from the texture and all. I wonder if you can add milk then and eat it like cereal...did you try that?

I want to try this recipe, but i have a stupid question. How do you cook this stuff? you put it in a glass dish? Cookie Sheet?
And what exactly is it? A casserole? Cookies?
Im confused :/

I think its gonna turn out like a granola, cause he said it can be crunchy if you bake it for longer...I would put it on a cookie sheet and spread it out..or use a casserole pan/glass baking dish. I would spray it with pam first...just to be sure it dont stick to the bottom. I am guessing though..not sure of the texture. I was going to make it but didnt get a chance yet.

Okay thanks Toni.. I feel like a dumbass lol
Yea, so i only have cinnamon applesauce, and not Unsweetened. Should i just use the cinnamon stuff and not add any extra cinnamon?

yea..use the applesauce you have and maybe add ground nutmeg (1/4 tsp) or a tiny bit (1/8 tsp) allspice if you like those kinds of flavors...I think it would be a nice touch.

without sounding like a dumbass..do u still use the sugar in ur recipe or not?! thanks bro, later
I dont think he did in his version...thats why he said the first one was sweeter..cause of the added sugar.
Trying this tonight. Going with the modified version but, I am going to
sweeten it with Splenda and bake them like cookies. Roll them into balls and flatten them out a little with a fork. I am also thinking if I go with the amount of eggs noted in the first version that Jay recommends that they will turn out chewy?
Anybody know about the egg amount making them chewy? Toni?
I know when you make brownies it gives you the option of leaving out one of the eggs to make them chewier.
I will let you know how it turns out.

sorry ppl, the network at school has been down for awhile and haven't been able to get on the forum.
-use a cookie sheet
-spray is optional, i don't use the stuff...
-roll the mixture into slightly larger than golfballs...
-on the clerification of crunchy- by crunchy i mean like a regular cookie, my way they turn out moist...i just don't like crumbs flying all over my books when studying.
-on milk...-haven't tried with milk toni, but i bet it would work fine. i'm going to try over spring break and see what i come up with.
