I'm pretty good with the whole body talking to me thing and careful I have been for sure...relatively hahaha Thanks for caring, you went through hell with yours and I appreciate your guiding suggestions.

Man, you sure keep us in suspense with all your big lifting!!! 405 sounds like a truck to me =)) I am pretty confident you will pull it off, tho. Or should i say: press it up.

That is the plan, I did it once before but you know how sometimes you have a bad day and you can't do 75% of what you did before??? It's so weird....

Yeah, we all have those days. But lately i have come to understand my mind a little more. I am not going to tell myself it is an off-day if i cant lift as big as normal. I have found that in some cases, it is just a matter of a tweak in form. It FEELS like an offday, but it is actually something else. Example. My max bench is 100kg. And benching is sure as hell not my strong point. So on 'offdays' i start to struggle at 85kg. Few weeks ago i spend some time analyzing my form. I tend to bench almost only with my tris and chest. No legdrive, no tension. Exagerated, but you get the point. I racked up 95kg for a few singles like i normally would do and two of them felt like the always do on an offday. The last two singles i sucked in extra air and kept much tighter. The 95kg were no real problem. And i still forgot about legdrive. Today i was able to get the feeling of an off-day session for frontsquats out of the way in the same manner. I just forgot to keep tight.
But, yeah, i hear ya on the offdays. IF they really happen, 70% of your max feels like moving a mountain.

mmmm If I even used my legs to bench I might be able to get those numbers up. I lay flat, sometimes with my feet on the end of the bench with no arch in my back when I bench.

I try to dabble in powerlifting and legdrive really helps. Few weeks ago i really had the hang of it for a while, but somehow i lost it again. But when you get it to work it really helps you with the pop of the chest. On days when i am really in-synch with my body (good legdrive, shoulders nicely tucked in, good tension etc) my bench is SO much better. But it is THE exercise i struggle most with. My CGBP is almost the same weight as the regular bench =))

Thanks, bro. In hindsight, it could have been a LOT worse. Landing on a curb with your lowerback is not something i recommend to do on a daily basis =)) I was rather lucky it was all that happened.

I think the funniest thing that happens is that I piss Wides off so much, he yells curse words at me in the gym; it will be 10 fold that at the ARNOLD.... I can't let him beat me in the BENCH! I gotta get under his skin and throw his A game off.

ahh. working with bands, very cool. I always wanted to train with them, and with chains. Always looked like just a good time. haha. How did u like the band resistance?

The bands were easy to set up and have a real consistent tension build up so I like them a lot! I think I like the notchy increases from chains more though. I like the chains on squats too. The bands were a minimum of 40 extra pounds at the top so it was a mind blowing experience on close grips.

Rule one is to respect it, since it puts way more stress on the lift you HAVE to be very warm and stretched out or you will get hurt.

Just one can of ANIMAL TEST brother; it was amazing in the size/strength area. It makes you kind of tired but it's supposed to do that (forces your body to repair it's self) I used it at a good time, a time when all my lifts would not improve and my body weight was not moving either. It rips you into a positive state noticeably about 2 weeks into using it.

They were more like 1/4 reps when my back decided to act up again. My back is not even 85% back to normal yet so expect some 525 plus deads when it is.

You can always diet down to do a bodybuilding show as a powerlifter but far tougher to build thick mass bodybuilding with high reps and lighter weights.....hence the bodybuilders of today doing more powerlifting to get that!

Thanks, it's easy to feel like you are wussing out but I have to say, the reason I have never suffered a serious gym related injury is because I try to catch potentially bigger problems early and check it out at least. Most is still luck because shit can happen in an instant matter what you do..

As the snack dropped into the bin below I reached in to get it....my forearm did not really fit well, so there I am trying not to make a scene but apparently it was to late.

One guy says, you have to lay off the weights buddy. I heard some more giggling from the women as I had to jam my arm into the machine and twist like I was trying to arm wrestle it. I got my snack finally, picked my seat again and munched away.

Trained with Big Wides

Equipment Used:
- 2 Green Bands
- 2 sets of 5/8" chain

Did a double dose of Intra-Aid PRE!

5 minute rower warmup

Bench - barx12, 135x10, 185x8, 225x5, 225+bandsx5, 225+bands/chainsx4, 275+bands/chainsx3, 295+bands/chainsx2, 315+bands/chainsx1, 335+bands/chainsx1, 345+bands/chainsx1PR, 315+bands/chainsx1 (did this for 4 sets!@3 pies!), Took the bands and chains off...225x5, 275x5 (paused), 315x7(repped) nice finisher...

Pulldown Abs with rope - ?? sets x 12-10 reps...abs were pumped from benching already!

DB Flies - 45x12, 55x8, 80x5...big stretch on all

20 minutes cardio PWO

This session broke a record in intensity, total workload and max weight. At one point we had conservatively 420lbs at the top of the lockout. We were late leaving the gym because we benched so long. Gonna feel like a bus hit us in 2 days. We both were toying with this weight tonight buy doing very deep reps, pulling it into our chest, pausing and shooting for the stars. Out of no where I have developed some good leg drive in the bench, it's been nothing less than awesome for the speed.

It's also going be one hell of a show at the ARNOLD at this rate! We both want to hit a solid 405 bench for you all RAW.

Wides had to stop today too because of his back, so best not to be stupid and push it if "back pain" was in the air that day right?

Hypers w/25lbs 5 sets ? reps

Seated Calves - ?? sets x12-10 reps

Rev Grip Band Press (used green bands) - 135x8, 135+bandsx8, 185+bandsx8, 225+bandsx5, 275+bandsx3! (This kicked some serious ass...fun fun fun)

I really don't know the whole head count but there is a thread that should have most checking in. I know from many, it sounds like one of the largest collections yet at an ARNOLD to date.
