Wasn't too long, was it? When did it first go out? Anyways, looks like we're back in action fellas. Ya know, the blackout reminded me just how much I take the FORVM for granted sometimes. When ya can't log in, it really makes you realize how special this place is... Welcome back fellas.

yeah bro, how and why did this happen? i swear i think i kept trying to log in for 6hours straight last night, and never got in :( i too feel like without being in the forvm sometime during the day, the day just goes sour. but its back up now!

id say at about 12 hrs ago it started... yeah i could hve put in another 30-50 posts had the forvm not gone down...

Yo I was hurtin without the forvm, I think it hit around 5ish EST (maybe sooner) I tried getting online to post up my WO. I've been checkin this place like mad - but yea I definitely felt not having the forvm around. Whether i'm posting a WO or just dropping in to see what's poppin', you don't realize what you've got till it's gone!

I'd sure like to know what happened. I lost access about 4pm Pacific time yesterday afternoon. I was terribly frustrated, because I wanted to talk about my consultation with Rage yesterday and the new direction I was going.
I just hope the extra volume we put on the server today to catch up doesn't bring it crashing down again. *grin*

My guess the server hosting The Forvm just went down, however the nature of the downtime could be just about anything. Get a report from corporate U-Rep (please!) - all us animals want to know!

Well It very well could have been the traffic caused the crash, but i'm not leaning towards that simply because on 8.08.08 The Forvm had a record amount of users on The Forvm that day with no issues. Port 80 could have shut down (the port internet comes through) or hardware and/or software on The Forvm's server could have died as well. There are about a million things that can go wrong with a computer.

Would also just like to add that if you go to animalpak.com and click on The Forvm, you still receive a timeout message. May want to advise corporate to issue a mass email to everyone and send out the new link, i've noticed it's changed to an IP address.

14hrs since waking up, out in the cold. No Forvm to peruze whilst having breakfast, coffee breaks, lunchbreaks.
Fuck i have an iPhone....now being able to view the forvm whilst on the shitter at work is a daily occurence for me.

Around 8 o'clock last night I was sitting down to do homework for midterms this week and I opened up my internet browser, and....nothing. Just a blank white page staring me in the face. I figured the internet was down in the whole dorm so I waited. 11 o'clock rolled around and the same old story...no internet. So I call my ISP and tell them and they run some diagnostic tests with me. I open up a new browser and they tell me to type in PBS.org to test another site to see if it works. Sure enough, it does. I tried everyother site and they all worked great, except the FORVM.
Could have been doing HW all night but I really thought I had no internet. How retarded of me.

I was so fucking pissed!
I tried last night 10/16/08 around 9:30 before heading to bed, and it wasn't working!
Then I had to come to work and it wasn't working all day for me, just frigen sucks because this the ONLY (besides myspace) place I post and bullshit on because that is how much I love it!
I don't even post on BB.com, TNation, or any other forum's except this FORVM that is how much I love this place

At least it's back up for the work day. Seriously, how many people out there spend half their time at work on the forvm? I don't how I'd make it to 5pm if the forvm was down. Now that I think about it I'd actually get some work done around here.

Whatever the reason was for the site being down, I'm just happy its back up again.
I had to stay the whole day at the gym coz there was no FORVM to keep me company at home. And I owe the DSL people an apology. Thought it was their sucky network that was the coz of it all.

I put out an APB on another site to see whatw had happened and my first text in the morning was from firsthorseman wondering WHAT he was going to do all day at work....LOL We suffered, were all lost and had to adjust our habits, but most of all we realized how important this Forvm is to us...
