Calves are not always done with back. Calves are done 1-2x/week, and I fit them in where I can. The past few weeks have been tough with my routine, as I have a membership near work which basically prevents me from working out on the weekend. So sometimes it may be 8-10 days before I hit a body part again. B/c of this, I purchased a summer membership at my hometown gym this weekend ($99 from now until Labor Day). It will enable me to consistently add another workout day in my schedule, making it 5 days now.

How is the (2) pack-a-day Test working for you so far??
So far, so good man. Strength is definitely shooting up and I'm still getting my legs back under me with the high volume training. I'm gaining more endurance with each workout. As of now, I'm not so sure the double-dose is worth it's weight. For those economic people, I believe its about the 'diminishing returns' factor; increasing the dose won't always yield an increase in results. However, its only been about 3 weeks. And right now is when its really suppose to 'kick in'. So we'll see.

Definitely going up. Its hard to say for sure, as I never do the same workout twice. But I'm definitely pushing niCe weight and I feel like I can workout for hours without growing tired. Gotta love it.

Yeah I would agree that you need a few years of training under your belt before messing with DC. You need to develop a great mind-to-muscle connection and you really need to be in tune with your body to get the most out of that one set. Working out 3 times per week is a nice change of pace. It frees up a lot of time. I'll go back to it again once my current system gets stale.
As for the stretches, I think anyone and everyone can do them. I stretch using those principles now. I feel its very beneficial. As for how to do them .. let me see if I can find something for that ..

So, my brother is an idiot. He rented out the house that weekend and never told me. I talked to one of my friends who was supposed to be coming with me and he told me that we weren't doing it that weekend now. I'm not sure what the hell is going on now. I have to be in Philly that weekend at some point to see Ant since I'll be 8 weeks out. I still definitely wanna hit something up. I'll talk to my brother this week and straighten shit out and let ya know.

yo i just did a leg workout using the dc stretches and i could barely drive home haha. i also did the one set of 10-12 for calves DC style and people were starin at me cause it looked like i was doing nothing during the stretch part of it yet i was shaking and grunting haha. So just wanted to thank you again. Also i know it says you want at least one year under your belt before you start up DC, but i've been lifting weights since my freshman year in high school with the football team even though it was more of a three day a week powerlifting type program. what im trying to say is should i try dc training or wait another year since i didnt start lifting like a bodybuilder until september of this year. Sorry for the long post. Workouts look solid btw keep it up!

I incorporate that stretch for my calf movements too. I don't pause that long, but I do make sure I let it hang at full stretch for 2s every rep. I also pause at the top for a full second before coming back down. Since then, my calves have been sore every workout, and I can't say that its always been like that. So progress is happening.
As for the DC training, its not just a x-amount of years. In order for the program to be successful, they want you to have a good understand on how to work each muscle. If you have a great mind-to-muscle connection, then you should be fine. Because remember, you're only hitting ONE set with DC training, so you need to make sure you put 200% into that ONE set and be sure that you're really working that muscle group. Otherwise, its pointless. So if you feel you have it, then go for it. You're at an advantage already, you have the official DVD as well as people who have run the program at your fingertips for questions/tips.

The student has become the teacher. I told him how when I hooked up with my old training partner almost 2 years ago, our first session was leg day, and he put me through hell. I actually got an exertion headache. So I passed on the favor with my boy. He did well and never gave up, but he was hurting.

Yeah it was a suggestion from Mr. Aesthetics. I have been doing it for a while, but I haven't seen any significant difference that I can relate directly to SP BA. I mean, every type of 'gain' I get, I'm automatically thinking its the double-dose of Animal Test.

Beta alanine is gold pre and post workout, some studies show that its beneficial to take a gram or two several times a day up to 6 grams daily, i think the hard research is out on the subject, but i ve taken it pre and post and do feel a bit more energy throughout the day, and supplementing along with creatine really takes away from the DOMs.
i think you ll enjoy the results!

Yeah I'm a fan of HIT training, as well as DC and then high volume. I love 'em all. I just like high volume because it allows the most freedom in my opinion. However, I experienced great strength gains while using HIT. I tracked progress daily with it and always tried to match or best the weights/reps from the previous time. I think its good to experiment with a lot of techniques to see what works for you. Everyone is different. I'll be going back to a HIT in the future, but right now I'm loving the high volume.

A bit bitter, but decent overall. The lemon lime BCAA stack really did a good job at masking the other stuff. But in the end, my logic was flawed when I poured in ~15oz of water, haha. I had the idea for the whole purpose of keeping the preWO liquids at a minimum, yet didn't really think about it when pouring in the water. I'm going to try it again with maybe ~6oz and see what happens.

A couple different factors. I've started training with a friend and he brings some good intensity. And I had a lot of pent-up aggression from my extra long Friday evening commute to the Jersey Shore, so I was ready to rock.

I've been stagnant when it comes to increasing weight as of late. Each week I weigh myself around Wednesday morning and for the past 3 weeks, its been at ~206. I hit 209 about two weeks ago and then somehow, by not even changing the diet, I dropped down to 206 again. I'm feeling more hungry than ever between meals, so that only means one thing; time to increase the food! I'm making a slight change to my breakfast and I'm also increasing the protein amount per meal. Here we go
meal 1; 4 whole eggs, 1c oats, 1s Ultra Iso whey, 1 piece of fruit
meal 2; 9oz chicken, 6oz sweet potato, 1oz nuts
meal 3; 9oz red meat, 1c brown rice, black beans, asparagus
meal 4; 9oz chicken, 6oz sweet potato, 1oz nuts

meal 6; 9oz protein, 1/2c oats, greens
*I have to break the mold. I can't be soo rigid. If I get hungry at any time, I'll have a scoop of protein. I also picked up Uni-Syn packets, so I can throw one of those down if need be. Gotta do what you gotta do, Deadman. I was becoming too strict on '5 whole food meals and Torrent'. Sometimes you have to switch things up. So I'll always have something on hand if I get hungry; UniSyn, IsoWhey, hi-protein bar, carbrite bar, w/e it may be. Shit, I finished meal 2 just about 75min ago and I'm already hungry. Instead of waiting for the full 2hours, I may just eat now. Fuck it.
On a side note: My hunger has definitely increased during the last 2 weeks of Animal Test. I didn't expect this, but it simply cannot be attributed to anything else, as everything else as remain consistent. Another positive side effect from Test. I just have to listen to my body and feed it.

Just added in some more food, that's all. And it seems to be working. I feel fuller and stronger in the gym. So its definitely working.
Where do you put the pins for rack deads? I never could quite get it right, i think im too short lol.
I've found that every gym is different. At TRF, I set the pins at the lowest level in the power rack. The bar ends up lying slightly below my knee cap. Yeah Mike had that problem when we trained; the bottom pin was still a bit too high. If that's a problem, you could probably put a 45lb plate on the floor to stand on.

Yeah man I'm very fortunate. I'm at a legit fitness center, but they're family owned, so they take care of us. Even though its a fitness center, they allow us big men to toss around weight, grunt, use chalk, etc. Its a good time.
I threw in some 21's and DB Curls to get a final pump for biceps before I leave for vacation. They need the work.

Haha. Yeah man. Back down to South Carolina with the family. Been going there for 18 years with 'em. I missed last year due to my contest prep. I wasn't about to take personal days to travel down and stay on the diet/training. Pointless. It'll be nice to relax again, and my body definitely needs it.

My record with a large friend was 13 piled high crab leg platters a piece and told them to jam their hushpuppies in a dark area because they were not going to take room away from my crab legs haha (did eat some though and they are to die for). Our waitress called us disgusting, pigs, abusive.. what??? Did the sign not say all you could eat? They never had the special again and went out of business shorty after.

The vacation was fun and I enjoyed every second of it. Now I'm pumped to get back on a diet and start training my ass off again. I feel the week-long binge will be good for my body. Now its primed and ready for absolute growth.
I arrived back in Jersey around 11:15am. I walked into my house and immediately went for the frying pan. Time to feed the system some quality nutrients. I took down the usual; 3 whole eggs and 1c oats blended with 1s chocolate whey isolate. I also took down a standard cup of coffee and a yogurt. Downed an Animal Pak and 2 Uni-Liver for the first time in a week. Now I'm sippin' on some BCAA stack and just tossed back a serving of BetaAla9. My body is already on its way to hugeness. Get ready.

Definite fluctuation, my friend. Waist got a little bloated, vascularity smoothed over, etc.; the usual when you spend a whole week disregarding your health, lol. But after a week or 2 of clean eating, I'll be right back on track.
The break for the the mind, body, and soul was exactly what I needed. Now I'm back, re-energized and ready to rock.

I look like shit, lol. After eating anything/everything in sight and sipping on tropical drinks all week long, I've definitely smoothed over and gained some fat weight in the stomach region, but that will all be taken care of once I have another few days on the regular diet. I'm adding in cardio for a week or two postWO to drain the excess. I should be back to normal within a few more days. I finished Test about 2 weeks before my trip. After a week of getting back into the normal diet, I'll be starting M-stak, 3 on, 1 off, 3 on. And around mid-Sept, I'll be jumping on Stak for a few weeks. Big things ..

Yeah I definitely had a great time. Our group this year was 15 deep and that's around the usual count. I wouldn't trade that week for the world. I'm hoping that influx of bad calories will translate to growth later on down the road. We'll see in the next few weeks.
