I was wondering if anyone has a recipe for homemade protein cookies or protein bars. I need something I can carry with me and snack on in between meals. So if anyone had a good recipe post it here.
Thanx

If your baking, you can add protein to anything really. Just blend with the flour. I can look at some of my recipes and see if anything would work ok. The only thing is my baking is not simple. My meals are, but baking usually involves a lot of steps. I bet you can add protein to that animal cookie that was posted here.
Try and tell us how that works, and I can get back to you as well.
Here is the link for animal cookie:

I've made these in the past and they're pretty decent:
Ingredients:
3 1/2 cups oats
1 1/2 cups non-fat powdered milk
1 cup sugar free maple syrup
2 egg whites,beaten
1/4 cup orange juice
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 cup low sugar applesauce
4 scoops protein powder
Pre-heat oven to 325 degrees. In a large bowl, mix all the dry ingredients. In a seperate bowl, mix all wet ingredient. Stir the wet ingredients into the dry. Will be thick, about like cookie dough. Spray non-stick spray onto a 9x12 baking pan, and spread the mix onto pan. Bake until the edges are crisp and brown (abour 15 minutes).Cut into desired number of bars.
If you cut into 10 bars, depending on the protein powder used, the nutrtional content will be around:
Calories-157
Carbs-23
Protein-15
Fat-0.5
Fiber-4
Happy chewing

I am going to try this weekend..thanks!
Try this, it is soo simple, yet so good. I modified the recipe I found on a kraft pb container. The stuff in brackets is for if you need more kcals.
Cookie:
-1 cup light (or regular) peanut butter, Kraft works better than Skippy for some reason
-2 large egg whites (or 1 whole large egg)
-1/2 cup of splenda (or sugar)
Icing:
-3 scoops of chocolate or peanut butter protein powder
-enough milk to make it into a paste
Directions:
Combine cookie ingedients until mixed well and roll into 8 balls.
Place on non-stick oven sheet or baking pan and press with fork.
Bake at 350 degrees farenheight for 10-15 min (time depends on oven and pb variety).
Mix together icing ingredients.
When cookies are done, place on rack to cool.
After cookies have cooled, liberally apply protein icing to top and store in refrigerator.
I don't know how long they will keep because they don't last long. It's a good thing they are so simple.
I posted a bunch there. Protein treats thread and a couple others..check them all out. Many have received positive member feedback too.

This almost sounds like these delicious flapjacks they make here in Europe, just without the PB..which is a really nice touch, by the way.
I look foward to trying this after my show! Although I carb up on those flapjacks I mentioned the night before my show and I am sooooo looking foward to that!
Thanks again for this!
