What do you guys think is better, buffalo milk or cow?
This is a page I found but it don't mention about the fat content . Does anyone know how
much more fat buffalo milk contains as compared to cow milk?

water buffalo milk is like 6-8% fat and most homoginized milk that you get at the store is up to 2% fat.. but buffalo milk is supposed to have more protein and over all more nutritious

when I was a kid I used to go to the countryside a lot... I don't remember the numbers exactly, but my grandpa told me cow's milk is somewhere around 4%, while buffalo's milk is around 6-7 or even up to 8% fat as Squat or Die mentioned...

in all honesty, while it has more protein, and still taking into account it's not processed like the milk you get at the store, I'd use it in moderation since it's pretty high in fat

I never even heard of buffalo milk. Call me old school, but I'll take a cow any day. I never thought it really mattered...

I never even heard of buffalo milk.

Me neither. I'll just stick with regular, good 'ol milk.

Thank you for the replies and the fat % figures..

@houseofpain : well, here in India , buffalo milk is considered to be old school..thats why i got interested..
men in villages here always drink buffalo milk and believe me they're huge and strong without ever having gone to a gym.
I was never allowed by my family cuz of the higher fat % i think. but 4 % and 6 % are hardly any different..plus theres more protein and minerals..i'll take care of the fat with some cardio.
So i have decided i'll change half of my milk intake everyday into buffalo milk .. just to start.

Thanks again..
