I was involved in a major accident Wednesday night. While on an emergency call, our Fire Engine was T-boned by an SUV going over 80 mph. My partner and I suffered mild concussions along with some minor cuts and bruises, our driver and the driver of the SUV didn't make it, and my Lieutenant is still in the hospital. Nevertheless, I'm happy to be alive.

That is just a sad, sad loss.

You have my utmost respect for doing that job. My prayers go out to you, your firefighter brothers and of course out to the family of Joe Torkos.

Gonna be thinking about that all day now.

Let us know how you are making out.

God bless.

I am glad your ok, physically. I know mentally, something like this really takes its toll on you. I don't think any person who goes through a life-threatening situation or a trial of a great magnitude comes out the same. However, it makes you stronger and helps you appreciate how short life is. Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow...we are with you here, for support and friendship bro.

Just wanna thank you guys for the responses. My Lieutenant has been downgraded from serious to stable condition. He has a crushed vertebrae in his back and 3 broken ribs, but is in good spirits. Thanks again, bro(s) for the ear and the concern.
