Alright brothers and sisters, as the title states, it's time to get serious!

I just took a week off to rest and recharge and I am ready to hoist some Iron!

Right now it's all about putting on some size and steadily upping my strength.

So for now expect some serious eating and heavy lifting going on up in here!

I will be weighing myself weekly and posting up my meals starting tomorrow, as always

support is appreciated!


Just a quick overview:

Diet: a shit load of food!

New routine:

Workout A

Squat 2x5, back off
Pullover 1x20
Weighted dips 3x8
Barbell rows 3x8
Abs

Workout B

Deadlift 2x5, back off
One arm db press 3x5
Power shrugs 3x8
Barbell curls 2xf
Abs

I will be rotating these three times a week. Basically the idea here is to still consistently build strength, by incorporating both low reps and high rep back off sets on the squat and pull, but at the same time I am including some things to specifically help pack on the mass. I've been doing some thinking over this last week and I don't want to get too caught up in the numbers and just focus on good form, and let the weight pile on over time.

I will check in on everybody's journey's soon and see how you are all doing.

I'm still doing the fnal tweakings of things in my mind, and I'm thinking I might hit dumbbell bench press in there, but one thing's for sure is I want to get strong on them weighted dips, which is one of my main goals for this training cycle.

Right now the main thing is packing on more mass and getting huuuuuuuuuuuuuugeeeeee!!!!

hit up the sausage! and make it a massive glass- i like the 24+oz glasses.

dude there are so many easier options than weight gainer, buy a basic protein, add OO or natty pb and oats, you can make it have about just as many cals/ carbs for much less money, hell if you have a blender throw oreos in there too..

i will admit the so called 1k cal shakes have got to be pretty hard to make yourself, but it can be done im sure.

get on those 2, and i dont think youll be dissapointed.

fuck yea bro! I want to be 230 minimum by spring. I've lost some weight so I'm at 210-215 right now, but I think with all the milk and food I'll be taking in 15 lbs is realistic within 5 months.

the gainers powders ARE NOT A WASTE! every pro bodybuilder/athlete my boss trains is on them. at their size its damn hard to get in the cals offseason to grow.

look at it like this

1000 cals in 5 mins for under 3 bucks a serving. its cheap. not for protien but for cals.

but you need to buy protien powder aswell. include gainers as your groceries, not supps.

Breathing pullover 30x20 done immediately after last squat set
DB bench press 60x8, 70x8, 80x5
Barbell rows 135x8, 155x8, 175x8
Weighted dips 10x6, 15x6, 25x6 PR!

Was a damn good session! Felt good, strong, and focused. Form was absolutely strict on all lifts. Right now it's all about good form, relatively heavy weight, and stimulating hypertrophy.

Flexiblity has improved tremendously on the squats, and I can down shoot right into the bottom of the hole without even thinking about it.

As you can see, all sets are ramped, and that's how I'm going to run it, rather than straight work sets. Squats and deads will be a 5/3/1, back off scheme, while the others will be ramped sets of up to 8. I'm really liking this, and glad I gave myself a break to rest up and come back with a vengeance.

Also What is your diet like, if I remeber correctly you were taking in 3 real gains shakes a day right? Would you mind posting your diet up for please, I just started another 5x5 cycle and Im looking to get a stricter diet going this time around.

thanks fry, this here is a little something I came up with myself, just applying what I've found works for me, and switching up a few things, like db bench instead of bb, db standing press instead of bb, and overall higher reps with less weight. Going for pure bulk gains here. I'll be posting my daily food intake each day, so just drop by once in a while and you'll see what I'm eating. Basicaly just gonna take in a lot of good clean food with shakes inbetween and lots of milk and water.

First one down and it was definitely a good one! Glad to see you had fun with it cuz you and I both know that will make a huge difference. Those ATG squats do feel great, I don't know how I ever did them any other way. The new era here looks solid bro, looking forward to the vids!

Thanks p, I've gotten up to 340 on a bench that's probably about 3-4 inches higher than that depth, but right now it's all about good form and getting ATG. We both know ATG yields the best gains anyway.

dude im giving you the Squatty bulk, not exact foods for all meals but basic outline

1- 1 cup oatmeal 50g protein (any way you can get them in) 2 tbsp natty pb

2- SHAKE- min 50g protein, half cup oats with 1-2 tbsp OO or natty pb

3- CHEAT MEAL!!!!!!

4- 10+ oz meat, veggies, perhaps with OO

5- 10+ oz meat, 100+ g carbs perhaps with some added fats

6- CHEAT MEAL- maybe throw it in as a 2nd cheat meal every few days.
or a 2nd shake

easily 300 g protein, 300 g+ carbs, maybe add in if you need them 90ish g fat w/o cheats

i would prefer red meat, most of the meals- but thats me i live in cattle country!

PLUS pre wo- either oreos or poptarts and post hit some more of either with milk- part of that gallon a day.. and dont be afraid to chow on PB with or without tortillas and mixed nuts are good source of fats and protein..

now i realize this isnt the cleanest bulk around, but look who your talking too.. size is king where i dwell. and those foods will get you growed and strong

Also, if u have noticed through my workout lok, i actually legitamtely deadlifted once or twice the last 2 and a half months. A lot of romanians and stiff legged deads as well as good mornings strengthened up my posterior chain. thats one thing i picked unp from westisde, strengthening the mmost important part of ur lift.

lower back stuff, romanians , stiff legs, also doing them with dumbells. weighted hypers, goodmornings,

meal 3-turkey, pasta, veggies, english muffin with canola oil butter, tall glass of milk
meal 4-steak, rice, beans,
meal 5-chicken, rice, beans
cheat meal
meal 6-shake with 1 scoop whey (getting some casein) 1 tbsp peanut butter.

with every meal I have 4 unilivers and 2 fish oils. Took the pak upon waking. Have also drank a gallon of water and a half gallon of milk, will be working my way up to a gallon.

What do you guys think?

Also, for whichever workout happens twice in a week, throwing in a little variety is a good idea-different exercise, more reps, etc.

right on hoss, yea I hear you, for that reason I'm either going to make my third workout an assistance day just for the calfs, neck, arms, and grip work, or I'll do rack pulls instead of deads, or front squats instead of squats. Don't want to tax the back too much.

Your lower back seems to be pretty rounded on the set up,try arching it hard on the set up and keep it that way the whole lift,make like you are pushing the ground away with your heels..

trust me bro, I am trying as hard as possible to arch it. That's about as much as I can. The thing is though I don't feel any pain or discomfort pulling that way so I don't know. Also I focused on pushing through my heels the entire time. Maybe I'll work on maintaining my back's start position next time.

I don't know bro, my max is much higher than that too. Shit I can pull 100+ lbs more than what was in that vid. I'm hitting the weighted hypers as an accessory, and no worries on the squat as I have developed good technique on them. What it boils down to is switching back to sumo, or just doing rack pulls. Thing is though even with sumo my ass would should up first, and I found I had an even harder time with it. Like I said bro, with my structure it's as if I'm forced to start in that position, I'm arching as much as I can there.

id say squat more, pull back with your traps. dip into a deep squat right before you lift the weight up. try and not bend over and be straight as much as possible.

i call it the "quick dip"

I'm debating on either switching to rack pulls or getting a trap bar. I'm not concerned about getting my deadlift up right now, mainly I'm just trying to get huge and pack on some mass. yea I hear you, but from what I've read it does have some carryover to the deadlift, I read some PL's have increaded their totals with it, it was actually invented by a powerlifter.

so you gonna start doing gm and sldl buddy?
maybe in my next training cycle. For now I'm gonna stick with what I have but just swap out the regular deads for trap bar deads. I used a trap bar a while back at a commercial gym and I remember it felt much more natural for me. In now way am I saying it can replace the barbell, but I think it would be a good thing for me for right now.

Nah I changed things up, I'm not doing speed work right now. Right now I'm focusing more on just packing on some mass. So that is why I've lowered the weight some on my lifts and have been going as high as 8 reps. I need to get huge son, I'm tired of being around the 210-220 range, I need to pack on some weight. Which is why I'm gonna give that crazy ass diet you came up with for me a go lol. Also I'm hitting up the db's for a change, haven't done db bench in a long time.

Deadlifts look good bro, kept everything pretty tight and most importantly kept your ass down.

As for the trap bar, from my personal experience, i used it in high school for 4 years and it helped my quads glutes hams traps and grip strength bigger and better. As for transitioning into the straight bar deadlift, my max was decreased about 10-20 lbs but it helped me keep my ass down and get more drive through my legs on the dead. the squat is benefitted from it a little bit. it'll work for ya man.

I'm gonna take pro's word for it and give the diet a go. I seriously want to get huge. Like my journeys says, it's time to get serious!

so add 500 cals and weigh in a week,if no change add another 300-500,lol no need to go to the extreme of adding a few 1000,your def asking for fat gains then..

the diet is extreme but so is shizzs metabolism. he needs alot. he works 10 hours straight too some days.

he will probably make sick muscular gians for the first couple weeks then he willsimply lower his carbs and fats. its a very clean 8k diet too. timed nutrition.

he wants to grow, i will let him!

shit I even work up to 11 hours sometimes. I think it looks pretty good. Pro is it cool if I post it up?

meh alright here it is


wake up: 3 servings of tang and 10 grams bcaa's while you prep breakfast

meal 1: muscle juice shake. full serving

meal 2: 300 grams of meat of youir choice with 1 cup of white rice and 3 spoons peanut butter

meal 3: 300 grams of chicken/steak strips in 2 tortillas. have a 500 calorie cheat snack too

meal 4: 2 tuna sandwichs, each being 1 can. with 3 spoons PB.

meal 5: 1 cup rice, 1 can of your favorite soup and put some chicken or tune in here. 2 cans tuna or 300 grams chicken. you can drink this in a thermus. good shit!

meal 6: 50 grams of whey, 3 servings of tang, 1 tablespoon of PB

meal 7: 50 grams whey, 4 servings of tang

meal 8: muscle juice, full serving, in water. juice is alloud, not milk

meal 9: 1 cup cottage cheese or 60 grams casien protien, 7 spoons PB



meal 6 is pre training, meal 7 is post and meal 8 is second post workout meal
