Hope this was a good place to post this.
I had been lifting real hardcore for 12 months straight and knew I was kind of overdoing it but I was more focused on my shoulder at the time due to a twice week chest press routine I was doing. Anyway 4 weeks ago my wrist started hurting a little but only in "holding a glass of water position" so hammer curls were out. It then got worse and included all DB holds! Pretty soon I couldn't even press or sling plates. So I took 2 weeks off thinking it would go away on it's own, but it didn't. 3 weeks in I hit the Doc's and he says I have deQuervains tendonitis. Check this link http://orthoinfo.aaos.org/brochure/thr_report.cfm?Thread_ID=52. So I am saying this because I should've went in right away and save a month off and now I have approx. 2 weeks to recovery, wear a brace and have another pill to swallow. So if you get a wrist pain doc says try ice even if it's not swollen because it might be inside and not out like in my case where it's just a swollen tendon. I like to learn from others mistakes so I thought I'd drop mine here and maybe help someone else out as well.
