Okay so far i found out the chest muscle is divided into 2 sections:

Major
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pectoralis_major_muscle

Minor
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pectoralis_minor_muscle

Now i need a good definition from you guys to put down in words what they both actually do and how to get em big. Its roughly already said here on wiki, but it sounds so scientific.

Not being funny, but you've been on the forvm over 16months, have over 400 posts and have only just discovered the chest?....

Yeah but now my question with this is: What parts do i use while doing lets say just flat bench, or db flys.

your using both for all chest excercises, i really dont think you can isolate the major and minor....

read the wiki page it has how to train the pec major. it lists bench press, dips, and iso movements like flys. dont worry about isolating the major or minor. Just do proper chest work and youll be fine.

Dude, you are way down in the weeds. You use your entire peck when you do each of those. It is impossible to isolate half of your pec. Here's an idea: Do all of those and stop worrying about what part of your peck is doing the work, because guess what, the whole muscle is working hard if it is being stressed.

Just lift weights and stop worrying about stuff like this. It makes no difference in the end and will just end up comfusing you...

But what do you forcus on while doing an exersize is what i need to know. Like lets say narrow curls focus on the inner part of the bicep and wider curs on the outer.

ralf snake, no offense, but I think you should try the K.I.S.S. method... works wonders

first learn how to walk then think about running

nothing personal, just my two cents

Bingo, RS, don't worry about it. The Pectoralis Major is basically the only muscle that actually moves weight. The Pectoralis Minor lies beneath the Major and is a non-weight moving muscle. It's more involved with breathing than lifting...

here

the bench press will hit them hard

NOW, if you reaalllyyyy wanna isolate the pec minor, the key is useing a weight that is harder then last week, and continue that process. that will totaly give you ULTIMATE ISOLATION.....or something like that...

the pec minor is a small underlying muscle, it does the opposite action of the mid traps, it makes your shoulder blades round forwards. and it pulls them down like a reverse shrug.

now you can hang yourself upside down and do reverse shrugs...

or you can lie on a bench and train the bigger muscle and actually BOTH of them and maybe SEE some gains?

choice is yours

bro.. youre thinking too much. Through trial and error you will figure out what works. lift, and eat. Dont think "hmm is my pectoralis major working at this exact moment?" get a solid base, and then you can worry more about isolating etc.

Doing any kind of pressing or flys you'll use both, upper and lower. Go heavy on those and your pecs in general will grow.

For the upper, there's a few moves you can do. Incline helps a bit... I think it just uses too much shoulders/front delt. Try this: Put your left hand on the upper part of your right pec. Now, raise your right hand upwards (like I mean, swing it straight up in front of you like a front dumbell raise) with your palm facing up. Feel your upper pec contract? Try it out with a pair of 15 lb dumbells and see if you feel some upper pec stimulation. Cables work good too. Just make sure the palms are up. It's not exactly a mass builder but it's a good exercise to get some pump or to even superset with flys, etc. *shrug*...try it out and see if it does anything for you.
