After reading through Toni's topic on Tofu (豆腐), I thought that I'd offer some recipes related to Asian culture, along with some of my own creations.
I've been into Japanese and Chinese food for ages. Having studied both languages it was natural to also learn about the different cuisines.
Ok, these meals will generally be low in fat and have quite a lot of protein and carbs, due to the (almost) compulsory rice. I urge everyone to try cooking Asian food at least once in a while, to explore different ingredients and perhaps learning new ways to prepare your favorite foods.
Oh yeah, and most of the meals here will be intended for 4 people, because that's how I wrote them down in my recipe book :)

1/2 tsp. chicken bouillon granules
2 tbsp. boiling water
2 tbsp. soy sauce
2 tbsp. dry sherry
1 tsp. ground ginger
1 clove garlic, crushed
1 Lb. turkey breast, sliced into 3/4" steaks
Dissolve the bouillon in a large bowl with boiling water. Stir in soy sauce, sherry, ginger and garlic.
Marinate turkey breasts in sauce mixture about 45 minutes, turning frequently.
Now, grill the steaks for 15 minutes, turning every 5 minutes.
This makes 4 servings. Enjoy!

4 cups steamed (preferably Japanese) rice
1 pound thinly sliced beef
1 onion
1 1/3 cup dashi soup
5 tbsps soy sauce
3 tbsps mirin
2 tbsps sugar
1 tsp sake
benishoga (red ginger) for topping
Slice onion thinly. Cut beef into bite-sized pieces. Put dashi, soysauce, sugar, mirin, and sake in a pan.
Add onion slices in the pot and simmer for a few minutes. Add beef in the pan and simmer for a few minutes.
Serve hot steamed rice in a deep bowl. Put the beef topping on the top of rice.
Place some benishoga (red ginger) on the top if you would like.
Notes:
Both the Mirin and Dashi soup stock can be found in any Japanese/Asian supermarket, and isn't too expensive.
Oh, and this meal is very high in protein and completely lactose-free.
