I am a believer in the idea that the more weight you lift the more you grow if your diet is right. So I try to choose the compound exercises that I can lift the most weight on for each body part. So today I figured since Decline Bench is the one you are strongest on for chest why not triceps? So I tried some close grips on the decline bench and I gotta say it was an awesome exercise that should be given a try if you are looking for something new for your tri's.

Also since you are pushing down and not straight out like normal I felt it hit my tri's more. I can't believe I have never seen people do these and I see them do it on flat and incline.

i agree, closegrips on a decline rock. I also like to do half reps on closegrip decline as well

i've always done closegrips on a flatbench followed by a "modified" skullcrusher -- modified because i switch the angle to have my knuckles touch the top pf my head rather than my forehead so when i extend, my arms extend away from my head

i feel it gives me more controlled attention to my outer heads, but much of lifting is personal results

dunno about aesthetics, but it sure helps my bench and military presses

I am a big fan of skullcrushers on a decline, I feel I get a wider range of motion.

I am a big fan of the close grip bench press on the flat bench, but I will for sure be giving those a try. Thanks for the tip bro.

I love these as well. I never tried close grip on the decline, on Sunday which is my next arm day, I will have to give those a go

Im glad someone posted this because I just read about a modified version of this exercise. Pushdowns with your elbows flared out, supposed to mimic this movement and Im gonna be doing it tomorrow on arm day. The only time ive seen it is in Jay Cutlers videos, so thats reason enough to alteast try it. But now Ill try it with cables and barbells. My current fav tricep exercise is skull crushers with my upper arms at a 45' angle, so the bar falls behind my head, and keeps constant tension on my tri's. It's a killer, especialy when you throw some partials in when you cant finish a rep

Cool, ill give it a whirl. Im thinking about tossing it in in the beginning for a sort of heavy warm up, going to some heavy skullcrushers, and finishing off with some nice tricep isolated exercises like push downs. Thx for the info.

Simple but logical, I like it, give it a crack next arm day. Thumbs up.
