Alright guys so this is officially the beginning of my first journey. Stamp this shit in the books because it's gonna one of many mountains I will climb before I die. This is the first time i've ever put my pen to paper per se when it comes to iron but it won't be my last for sure.

Right now my goal weight is 185 pounds of monster and veins and i'm well on my way of getting there. My journey began on new years day and I swore to myself that I would hit this beast from all angles and with relentless nature. Since the first i've gained 15lbs as of right now, most of it is lean muscle but I do have a few pounds of garbage weight which I will be destroying when I cut here at mid march.

Start weight: 155
Current weight: 170
Goal weight : 185

My split:

Monday:Back
Tuesday:Arms
Wednesday: Chest
Thursday: Legs ( dread this shit)
Friday:Delts
Saturday and Sunday: Rest and growth

I hope you guys tune in, I'll post photos to note my progress and keep all informed.

Today was chest and it felt fucking great like it always does. I got back to using a bench bar for the first time since 2003 when I tore a muscle in my right delt. I managed to get 180 at 6 reps which is nothing short of a miracle in the fact that I couldn't use a bar period, without weight 2 months ago. My goal right now on bench is 225 at 6 reps and I will fuckin get there.

Today was the dreaded leg day and it was brutal. I decided to take a week off from squats and hit the leg press today. It's a whole other world that I forgot and how much that shit hurts.

ten minute light cardio before:

Leg press:
140 x 30 reps (warm up)
230 x 20
320 x 15
410 x 12
480 x 10

Quad extentions - independant (each leg)
30lbs x 20 reps
40lbs x 15 reps

each 2x

Lunges

25lb dumbbells
30lb dumbbells

calf raises
70lbs x 20 reps
90lbs x 15 reps
110lbs x 10 reps
130lbs x 8 reps

Today was shoulders. My chest was still hella sore from wednesday but I pumped out an awesome day.

Shoulder press:Dumbbells
40lbs x 15
50lbs x 12
55lbs x 10
60lbs x 8

I also did lateral raises with 15, 20, and 25 dumbbells
upright rows: 55, 65. 85 and 90 lbs
Barbell shrugs: 135, 185,210,225
Dumbbell shrugs: 50, 60, 70lbs

On sunday I did a stellar back workout.

bent over rows:
135 x 20
155 x 15
175 x 12
185 x 10
205 x 8

T bar rows
Bench bar +
1- 45 x 15
2- 45s x 10
3- 45s x 8

Dumbbell rows
60lb x 15
70lb x 12
80lb x 8
90lb x 6

It was brutal and my back is gettin thick as a mother.

I've been in a nd out of the gym and trying my best to stay on course. I don't know if i've just been sick or if i'd been overtraining but my energy level was shit and it's getting better but slowly so I dunno. Just takin it one day at a time right.

Thanks for the support guys, it's kind of a nice suprise. I made it into the gym last week for chest and arms. I completely dominated my arm workout. I think my issue with my energy is i'm over training. I've been workin too hard it seems and i'm taking far too long to recover. I'm gonna try cutting my workouts down, makin um shorter and simple but yet still bust my ass.

Heres a run down of my back workout, it seems that i have to really hit my lats hard to make um grow so it's a little nuts.

Wide grip pull-ups
3 sets 8-10 reps

Wide grip pull downs
4 sets 15,12,10,8 reps
70,90,110,120lbs

Bent over rows
3 sets 10,8,6 reps
135, 155, 175

Narrow grip pull-downs
15,12,10,8 reps
80, 110, 125,140lbs

Dumbbell rows
15,12,10,8
60,65,70,80lbs

sometimes I'll throw in some t-bar rows if i'm feeling up to it.

hmmmis looks pretty close to my kind of workout. And im with you Tbars. I love doing them but not all the time. I dont really see anything wrong with it. If you want you can just take the one set with the 15 reps. Just see how that does for you.

I think my form was lacking and I needed to drop weight. I did those and it felt a lot better to me and my back healed faster.

So with much thought and planning i have decided that my workout plan needed revamping and I needed to mix it. My body wasn't responding the same anymore and my energy level was bunk. So with a little article browsing and some much appreciated advice from House I'm changing up my diet and changing to a 4 day split.

Monday- Chest and Biceps/Meathooks
Tuesday - Legs and Calves
Wednesday - Off
Thursday - Back and Calves
Friday - Shoulders and Triceps

I'm gonna mess around with this and see how it works. I might change up and fine tune then muscle groups on days and see how I feel. I know for a fact that I need to hit my delts harder and maybe twice a week because they just won't grow. I'll keep you guys updated on the experimentation and tuning. Keep workin hard!

Wow...does time get away from us..that ain't no shit. I decided I needed to hit this again and make the time for it, even not just to post work outs then just thoughts on this complex life I lead and how I manage the mud under my feet every single day. We all live this crazy game..I welcome any and all wisdom and venting anyway has on their mind as well. If there is none thats ok..we all carry a shit ton and this will be partially my outlet.
