What's up guys? I've decided to focus my attention solely on getting my numbers up, I'm done with meets for a while untill i can get where i need/want to be.
current stats:

Sumo Dead: 525
Box Squat: 435
Meet Squat: 385
Bench: 300
Good Morning: 290 x 3
Chain suspended GM: 405
Conventional Deads off 5 inch box: 495

Goals:
Sumo: 600
Conventional Dead: 500
Squat: (box/meet): 500
Bench: 350
Good Mornings: 365 x 3
Suspended Good Mornings: 495

If at all possible I'd like to get all of this while staying under 205 so i can get down and do a triple bodyweight pull in a meet, we shall see!

thanks man, yea id definitely like to hit the 3bw, personally i think thats a pretty big raw deadlift, i dont think i've ever seen anyone do it at a meet.

by far the strongest ive felt on here, felt great with my new arch setup.

Incline
135 3 x 10, 185 x 10...somethin happened here, i honestly thought i had a hernia, but it felt better after a few minutes

tricep pushdowns/overhead cable thing
5 x 20 each with 70 pounds

I havent done too much work with it just yet, not enough to see any results over other exercises, but i definitely like the theory behind it. The problem with most of my lifts is the lockout, but rack deads, board press etc tend to put me in an awkward position that isnt even close to my groove on the full range movements, and the bands allow for lockout work with a fairly natural bar path

Yea seems like a good way to help you pull and press heavier weights. I think I'm gonna start working with bands after my 5x5 cycle.

So i had to put up a full keg to shoulder height at work last night...and now im paying for it. i let go with my left to not smash my fingers, but turns out someone else had put a keg on the floor in front of the shelf so i couldnt reach it with my right arm, which then led to a full keg weight reverse lat raise. obviously this turned out poorly, i cant really get that arm even straight out...good thing its squats and pulls today!

My gym got a monolift today, im so pumped. we just got it all set up, its awesome. we also got the arch bench bar which should be cool, but im just fuckin excited about the monolift. anyone in the central ohio area that needs a monolift to train in should come on out.

Ok so this in no way stuck to my plans, not even close, but whatever im not too worried about it. Got in a squat suit today, Titan Centurion, about 1 size too big, not super tight but definitely tight, straps were very loose.
Buffalo Bar Squats (all squats straps down)
240 x 5, 290 x 3, 330 x 3, 380 x 1, 420 x 1, 470 x 1

Switched to the straight bar
405 x 1, 500 x 1! Cory made me quit here, although i think i had plenty more in me, this just felt heavy as shit but not hard and i stayed plenty tight

Deads
135 x 1, 225 x 1, 315 x 1, 405 x 1, 455 x 1, 495 x 1, 545 x 1 (still pretty easy) 600 x 0 ...fuck! got it up but it pulled me forward and it was over

So i really need me a squat suit, not sure if i want a centurion or one of the metal suits, any opinion from you guys?

Thanks shizz, yea it was pretty sweet made a real big difference. The one thing that i noticed the most was that although i was squatting 50 pounds more than i ever had, i felt perfectly safe, where as normally when i go for a pr theres that feeling in the back of my mind that if i fuck this up im gonna be out for a while, so the security aspect was very nice. I was also able to move my stance out on the squats and deadlift to where i feel strongest but it hurts my hips without the suit, so it was great for me. I recommend you find someone with one that will fit you and try it out, its a lot of fun and im definitely getting one as soon as i can afford it!

About my epic pwo meal haha, hit up chipotle for a double rice triple chicken burrito, mmmmm! idk what the stats are, but its gotta be over 2000 calories, and way cleaner than my normal 2k meal at bk or mickey d's.

Also, weight was 203.5 before eating but after workout, so thats my new heaviest ever and i still have my all important abs lol. overall a good day for me!

First rep at 505 i wasnt psyched up for it at all or anything, felt light but kinda slow, so i decided to fix that on the second rep, pulled it like it wasnt even there, but sat back so hard i fell over backwards at the top....oooouuuucch. lost a good chunk of skin on my knee from the bar landing on it lol.

I dont necessarily have a plan, i think im doing an IPA meet April 18th and id like to do it there but who knows, im buyin my own suit this weekend that will be considerably less stretched out, but idk, we'll see. definitely before my birthday though, which is june 26th

nice man, i found when i incorporated speed pulls off a small platform my deadlift got very strong, basicaly, what i put my hands on came up, i havent missed a rep ever since i came back to deads.

for me, my tips would be strong platform pulls, a good rack pull and work hard on your grip cause once it weakens, you loose power through it

Grip has yet to play a factor in anything yet, when i tried 600 like a month ago i was locked in just fine i just had a horrible rep lol, honestly i think i couldve got it last week the way i was feeling but whatever, couldve doesnt mean anything. and yea, i need to find a way to do sumo off of a platform because conventional for me=injury, but the platform deads are nice, and rack pulls get worked in quite a bit. i just wouldnt take you grip for granted and work it hard still. i pull conv so platform deads are easy for me to do.

I'm on a deload right now, and am building my way up to a 455 pull, and 365 squat. Just started low box squats, and ordered some blue bands and am gonna start hitting up reverse band deads. Hopefully they'll help me bust through my deadlift plateau as I peaked at 425 on my last cycle, and it's just kind of a mental barrier going above that.

Also, I got a titan centurion and am gonna try it out tomorrow on my pull.

haha yea, i fall enough and do enough clumbsy shit without getting fancy, its not a true thursday without something ignorant happening to me haha, for instance falling over backwards and dropping 505 on myself last week lol, then the toe thing today...im a mess lol.

sweet man, the suit is awesome, just work with it. idk if it comes with instructions on how to put it on or anything, but i turn it inside out and flip it upside down and start with my legs first and pull it up as high as possible, then turn it inside out, put the straps up and squat as far as i can to get it pretty well seated, and it does good things. bands are just good clean fun,especially the blue ones haha. did you get the close or wide suit?

Shit bro my suit just barely fits and it's 2 sizes larger than comp fit. I can just barely get the straps up. I have long legs and a short torso though so I'd imagine with my body type a custom suit later on down the road would be the way to go.

And I pull conventional so the bands should help. I'm strong off the floor, but have found my weak point is at knee level, so I'm thinking the bands should help.

yea for sure, im debating a custom suit now but idk i might just get it modified with some velcro straps we'll see, i need to weigh out all the costs and all that. so are you gonan be pulling in your suit also?

Yea I'm gonna start pulling in my suit and see how it goes, but I'm thinking I'm gonna hold off on squatting in it cause I need to get my raw squat strength up. The problem with my squat is I used very bad form in the past and didn't realize I was squatting way too high. So after developing solid technique and getting way below parrallel I had to strip a lot of weight off the bar and basically had to learn how to squat all over again. But my deadlift is ok, lol but it's funny cause my deadlift is like over 100 lbs stronger than my squat.

raw thats not that crazy lol, i mean mines probly 70-100, at the last meet since i forgot how to squat my dead was 135 higher haha, but the suit definitely equalizes it quite a bit. do you do any box squatting?

thats borderline ridiculous haha, stranger things have happened though. The kid from my gym that beat me in my last meet only squatted 10 pounds over his bench, raw lol.

Yea bro I just started low box squatting yesterday. I'm only going to box squat from now on that way the depth is unquestionable. It also helps me sit back more, and seems to put my knees in a much better position.

Yea bro I just started low box squatting yesterday. I'm only going to box squat from now on that way the depth is unquestionable. It also helps me sit back more, and seems to put my knees in a much better position.

yea thats what we do, and it definitely helps. we do super low, just a hair high and right below parallel, i hate free squatting now, although with a suit its ok cause i can still sit back pretty damn far, but i think box squatting keeps your form in check much better than normal, plus you always think you're going deep enough till you sit on the box!

lol, yea our little wood box has gotten smacked with 315+ more than once lol, you'd be amazed how well plywood and 2 x 4's will hold up. that squat looked good though, is there any reason you're going way below parallel like that?

yesterday i had a 2 1/2 hour dick off session just to be in the gym and not freaking out over some personal shit...went ok
highlights: db incline 100's for 9
trap bar shrugs, race to 200 reps with 135. 50, 50, 60, 41, fuuccckkk! my traps! haha
decided that doing that without straps would constitute grip work, just for you pro! haha. and i think my hands bled there for a second.

last night at work i scratched my head where i had a bump from headbutting the bar in my psych up for 515, and it bled, quite a bit, down my face, while cooking peoples food. yuummm! haha

Todays since its nice out i got to play tire and sledgehammer, which is always fun
5 flips of tire follwed by 5 right swings, 5 left swings (god im an uncoordinated bastard), and 5 center swings
4 sets of that...good enough for me!

Oh yea almost forgot, bruised my ribs last night at work too dicking off on our freshly mopped tile floor, ive never fallen so hard in my life, couldnt breath for like 2 minutes and still cant take deep breaths or anything like that...just what i was hoping would happen!

kinda...it seems like it would be cool for squatting, just cause i was locking my shoulders in a lot better than usual...its the arch bar for bench so its only i think a 4 inch camber, not very noticeable. if you're talking cause theyre a lot lighter, its cause they werent chain suspended, idk why but i can do a lot more that way, or at least convince myself to try a lot more

well...whatever workout wasnt important today, i did hit a pr on the 2 board of 320...on to the real story
garret was goin for 405 to the 2 board...easily strong enough to do so. i lift off for him, make sure he has it, take my hands away and before i can even think, his wrists fold bakcwards, it smacks the board and rolls onto his neck with just me behind him and someone holding the board, i yank on it but its not budging, so we flip it onto one side but hes not moving still so we just rolled him off. he turned out ok, just shocked scared and pretty bruised up but by far the scariest thing ive ever seen, i thought he was dead when he didnt move. needless to say thats the end of our session...i didnt even wanna be around weights after that, im still really shaken up.

moral of the story, lots of spotters, stronger wrists!

i dont really remember the sets, hit 315 for 3 and 375 for 1 which is a pr. then i put on someones rage x...very very tight, 385 no touch but easy, 405 closer to a touch, still easy, 425 touched, couldnt finish it and it went over my face. basically the reverse bands fucked me up and kept me from touching a weight i could handle. the one guy that knew what he was doing in a shirt said he felt stronger in it without the bands so idk.

then my back hurt real bad, so i tried to fix that by doing about 60 sets of band good mornings and band pullthroughs and putting a nice coating of horse liniment on there. then i fell asleep on a bench. ha. shitty day

we choked them around the top of the monolift so people who wanted to could go sumo, i think it was about 6'6" off the floor or so. it was taking a good bit off from the floor, i would guess just a hair under 200 and less than half of that at the top. above the knees it got reeeaaallly damn heavy!

bad news today. long story short...i got the news that a member of our team committed suicide friday night...apparently he had been battling depression for a few months. its just shocking and sad...he had a lot of potential as a lifter and especially a person.

respects a very important thing to me. i pretty much demand that anyone around me, connected to me in any way, shows me a pretty basic level of respect and am fair enough to do the same for them. so what to do when someone decides to forego the respect?

im so pissed right now. my girls ex boyfriend who is still all over her, even though she thinks hes a total douche, gets invited to dinner at their house by her dad. (again, thanks for the respect, you fat fuck) so now he thinks its in his best interest to text her in the middle of the night telling her that he doesnt see whats so great about me, that he could spoil her just as much as i do (i would hope, im 18 and make minimum wage plus commission) and that he knows they're right for eachother and all this shit. i swear to god you're gonna see me on the news in the next week.
