I pay 45 a month for it and its the only gym in friggin town besides the college, and i cant stand the ppl at the college i got my membership revoked for bending a stupid ass bar that they claim to be an Olympic while doing dead lifts... i now work out at defined fitness which is another joke i pay for a sauna and pool and steam room and stupid hot tub that i have NEVER USED and they play this gay ass music i love my ipod...

i work out at a university gym, i love it. I go at 6 in the morning (about to go to bed now so i can get up early) and it's almost empty. Theres even a "heavy lifting room" where theres olympic barbells and old plates galore, and dumbbells up to 125. The university is saying this is only the beginning of the heavy lifting area, that they plan on doing more to make it more hardcore. What more can you ask for? So to answer your question about how much I pay for a gym, it's whatever the tuition is lol.

Health and Racquet Club in NYC (my gym of choice)... No Golds in Manhattan BOO!

Initiation: 150
Annual: 600

Then there are globo-gyms like Equinox where prices get obscene...

This is at the most basic level...
Initiation: 700
Monthly: 135

they have this awesome deal at costco for 24 hour fitness. it was $300(flat, no taxes!) for 2 years which equals $12.50 a month. this membership will allow you to workout at ANY 24 hour fitness, it isnt limited to only 1 location. the only downside is its only valid for new members.

My gym fees are the price of new plates once in a while. Its extremly convenient having a basic setup in my basement.

You guys got it easy!

I pay 50.00 per month

But thats in POUNDS! Not dollars! And with the exchange rate as it is, that amounts to $72.00. But a couple of years ago it was hitting $100.00 a month!

$47/month for World Gym. Used to go to the University one but i'm glad i graudated cause i got sick and tired of seeing the skinny frat boys who believe their bodies end at the waist and walk around like they're hot shit.

$40/month (no reg. fee for students) for a year membership. $50+plus month by month.

It has the pool, hot tub, sauna, aerobics classes, etc. that I don't use.

But they have a set of 200lb dumbbells. Sadly, I don't use those either. But one day ....

Too much! Ha ha. I pay 29.99 for a VIP pass that gets me all equipment and 20% off anything I buy there like supplements or at the smoothie bar. It also gets me free unlimited tanning (never used yet) and 1 free guest anytime. Also give me free access to their ActiveTrax trainer system but I don't use that either. I make my own splits. It's not a bad deal really.

I pay £40 a month for use of gym, pool sauna classes etc. I only use the weights during the week and I swim on saturdays. They play random selections of music so I bring my ipod and crank up metallica and godsmack

Sounds like a sweet deal. 24/7 access is a plus. I know a local chain gym that has all of that stuff, but changes FAR more per year.

I'd say mid-torso, considering the sorry relationship many "casual lifters" have with their abdominals. Heh. I def can relate to you there though man, even on my wrestling team, a lot of people discounted how important lower body work is.

Mans World costs me 25 wingwangs a month. The owner Joe Dodd gives college students and local high school students a $15 discount from the regualar price, and I'd still pay the $40 if I had to. Chain gyms, as they move further and further away. Dumbbells up to 120-125 I think, bodybuilders are there all the time. Atmosphere is amazing, not stale and boring like some chain gyms tend to be. Closes early on the weekends, which sucks, but it gives me motivation to get up early on a Saturday morning for legs.

I train at Urban Active gotta say it is a nice gym, new equipment, state of the art stuff, but who needs that stuff anyway....oh by the way it is always fricken busy...cannot wait til everyone's new years resolutions are done so the amount of people in there can lower in half. I pay 25 per month which is not to much money.

I pay $30 a month for a membership at the las vegas athletic club which pretty much has every form of free weights (minus bumper plates and deadlift/oly lift plaforms), heavy dumbbells, and machines you could ask for, and I have my own home gym in my garage.

I pay 37.40. It's called Snap Fitness. It's 24 hrs a day. No flat bench. Lots of machines and cardio. DB's up to 100lbs.

If I had a better option within 20 miles I'd take it. But, its either this or one of the god-awful Y's we have close.
