Fellas, what is The FORVM and why is it called such? Post your thoughts and ideas. The member with the answer that's closest to the truth will win $75 to spend in "The Shop" at Animalpak.com. The forum is the home to the animals when they aren't in the gym, eating, bulking, cutting, whatever the hell it is we do. It's a place we call a form of home, no one judges you here for the questions you ask or how much weight you can throw up, it's just a place where we all ask questions and share our stories, logs, workouts, answers and knowledge. Its a place where all the so called "freaks" or "Juicers" ......ANIMALS come to associate.

The FORVM is from Roman descent. It was a Roman marketplace of sorts. The Romans took great care in their bodies and education, as shown by the many statues of Roman elites and their invention of a calender. Family was also high on the Roman pedestal, and was the cornerstone of their society. The Roman Forum met needs: the exchange of goods and meetings, just like the AnimalPak forum. Instead of goods, we exchange stories, questions, and advice. During the time of the Punic Wars, Roman power was increasing and they began to turn the Forum into a monument, an example of the most powerful and one that called for the highest respect, like this forum, the best on the net. It wasn't open to the outside world as much, and became sort of an inner sanctum for those involved.
The AnimalPak forum is just like this. A place for us ANIMALS to come together apart from the outside world, and exchange ideas, insights, advice, and ask questions. It calls for the highest respect, and we also value our bodies and minds alike. A true Animal knows that family comes above all, and must be treated as such. Family, Training, Eating, Education, our priorities are set straight, and we do not stray from them..like the Roman society. That's why it is called the FORVM.

well i aint good at writeing stuff like this but heres my 2 cents on the subject worth a try for 75 bucks,my thoughts about the forum is that its a place for our brothers the warriors the hardcores that are rarely seen,wondering to themself aswell as myself,if they are the only one out there besides themself,this is a home for many peoples,also a brotherhood of iron.The Forum is here for people to get together and share there lifestyle with others that are liveing the same,also to the new comers seeking advices that are lost and confused

the Forvm is a collecting ground for like-minded individuals to gather and share knowledge. it is also a place of battle, a coliseum in which warriors prove their mettle against each other. The Animal Forvm is these two ideas: a common grounds for like minded warriors to gather knoiwledge and insight to aid them in their battles.
According to google its some kind of greek coin or something. But im guessing G Diesel or someone like that came up with it due to the greeks reputation as being tough and physically fit. But this place is basically a pretty sweet forum where people talk about blood shooting out their nose while they deadlift instead of about pwning da noobs about how much fat is in a can of tuna.

In Rome the Forum was the center of life. The market, the courts, the churches, everything was found in the Forum. Much like a modern day town square, one could go to the formum and seek knowledge, companionship, friendship, etc...
Our beloved Animal forum, is very much like the roman forum. here is a gathering of great minds, warriors of epic battles, seeking knowledge, friendship and companionship (get your mind out the gutter). We have been pulled to the Animal forum, brothers, because much like the acient times when all roads led to Rome, all roads lead here brothers, this is where we belong, where we are all treated like equals.....

R Rapture. Defined as a joyful ecstacy, or the carrying of a person to another place or sphere of existence. Both are fitting definitions of the FORVM. Am I proud of where I am because I've put nothing but blood, sweat, and tears into this game? You bet your ass I am. Do you step into the stink every day, sore as shit, determined as hell to make yourself that much better? Hell yes you do. The FORVM is where you come when you have to drag your ass out of the gym because you've snapped every single muscle fiber in your body and still cant get enough. That's Animal. That's Rapture.
V Vigor. Drive. Force. Strength. 24/7/365. Its a grind, yeah. You get the looks walking down the street. People just don't get it. "Why do you eat like that?" "Why do you want to be so big?" They cant see the fire you have inside. Its a flame we all share here on the FORVM. It keeps us going, and it keeps us warm, it brings us closer and closer to our goal.
M Metal. Steel. Iron. This is Animal in the most pure form. It has broken men and made men champions. It is what makes us who we are. And it is how strong our brotherhood is.

Unfortunately, i believe you're right, too bad you beat me to it. If that is the answer they want, congrats. Unfortunately even the Roman Forvm became too popular which lead to it being split up and held among different leaders. I hope the guys at animalpak can support the masses that will gather here, because they will be sure to come, this thing is already very popular.

The Forvm was not just the marketplace of ancient Rome; it was the centerpiece, it was the collective economic and intellectual achievement that spawned the Roman Empire.
It is the immortal example of what dedication and drive can accomplish. The minds and bodies at this Forvm are different, but the dedication-- that same innate desire to Create that burned in the minds of even the ancients--remains. It was a symbol of Imperial unity, just as this Forvm symbolizes the common bonds that bind all of us in this game together.
We want to grow, to build ourselves and leave our own marks on the world. That is what this Forvm is. From here we build our own Empire.
The forvm is home.
It is home to the young looking for a place in this sport. It is a home for powerlifters and bodybuilders at the top of their game. It is where we can all gather to help each other make it through a day of bullshit that the "norm" don't understand. WE build each other up and there is no tearing down. We share our feelings and there is no insults tossed about. So others don't understand what we do but we know we are not alone because we always have our family. And this as simple as it gets...
The FORVM is Family.
well, im not 18, but heres this anyway.
it said so on this site that the victorious legions came to the FORVM. i believe this also exists in rome. romans = brutes of men, if you look at the statues and pictures of them. they had some great athletes who busted their balls, kind of like the animals here. olympiad started there for the elites, just like this site is for the elites of bodybuilding.

To me the FORVM is a place where warriors of the iron can come and share their thoughts and ideas with each other. For people of all ages and walks of life to gain knowledge from each other and to feed off each others Animal. To strive to become better and more than just average. The FORVM helps to bring everyone together for a common cause, to stand out from the crowd and to be an Animal and live the Animal life style. To better our bodies, mentally and physically, through rigorous dieting and exercise. To show everyone what our Animal looks like, to perfection. The FORVM is a place where we can learn from each other and the experienced can pass on their knowledge so everyone can become their best. This is about sharing our love for the iron and our great work ethic. This is a home for the Animals.

wait why is there a V instead of a U in forum?

The V's obviously a roman reference, as Hawk has so accurately pointed out. (I know the V's from comic books..lol)
The roman connotation, for me, is to remind us of 2 main things:
1. Rome wasnt built in one day. It took a lot of sweat and hardwork and blood and guts to build a city with so much influence.
The idea behind this forum was to build such an internet city that would be the converging point of all the like-minded people out there in this world, and a city so influential that it would literally change the ideals and the whole mindset of everybody in the iron game. Honestly, today, people lift for the wrong reasons, and discipline is basically non-existent, and the right nerves should be touched.
2. A central attraction of Ancient Rome was the Circus and its gladiators. People who were strong mentally and physically, ruthless, born for war, and wouldn't hesitate to drop blood for victory. Those people were the early animals, and our resolve should be as tough as theirs.
For me, the forum is a place to rub shoulders with the best, and a sanctuary. Because in our environments, we are not easily accepted, and as we are not strong enough mentally to cope on our own, we look to people we can relate to, and who can show us the ways.

In my eyes, we all know what the FORVM signifies or else we wouldn't be here, so if you don't, you best wake the hell up. The Romans thought of their FORVM as being very pure, and was solely made up from it's faithful members. And the forum here at AnimalPak is the exact same, no bullshit, no disrespect, just business. So what's that mean? It means each and every one of us are building our own Rome one day at a time, with the help of each other.

The Forum is a sanctuary for ANIMALS. It’s the place we can seek refuge from the other ANIMALS on the Forum. It’s a place for us to speak out about what matters in our lives. It’s a place to ask questions and get the answers that we really want to hear. The Forum is a place we can express our desire, passion, aspirations, ambitions, and goals in the gym. It’s place to show the parallels between one another and the ANIMAL in all of us. The Forum isn’t for everyone, it’s for all of us ANIMALS. The Roman Empire. One of the strongest, most powerful, and feared empires of its day. Moreover, it lasted from 31 B.C. to 1453 A.D. If you need it spelled out for you, that's quite some time, over a thousand years worth of time. Something that stands that long sure as fuck needs to be united.
At the center of every Roman city was a place called a forum. Physically, it was a large, open square filled with stalls, shops, philosophers, and the like. People took their wares here to sell, and others came from thousands of miles away to learn from the world's wisest philosophers. It was also a place that regular plebians could congregate and talk. It became the iconic heart and lungs of the Roman Empire, for without it, the economic might, academic excellence, and unity that come to mind when you think of the word "Rome" would not be. Instead of being another name fallen out of the books of history, something as simple as a small public square propelled Rome into one of the most important and amazing collection of people the world has ever seen.
The AnimalPak.com Forum. This is the home for those who wage war on a daily basis. Some men wage war with bullets and rifles, some wage war with penstrokes and keyboards. No, we wage war with forks, knives, iron, chalk, blood, iron, and above all ourselves. In my mind, this place is the symbol of unity among the weightlifting community that we are together, and that we get down to the shitstains of the Earth to build up for something better.
It's the last set of squats on leg day. You felt like shit from the second you walked in the door, but your boots are laced up and your ass is here. You know it's gonna hurt, and you know someone's gonna have to carry you out to the car. But it doesn't matter. You have a job to do, and you will have to muster up every ounce of mental strength you can harness.
Down. Meal #7 of the day slams into the top of your stomach and is strangled up there by your belt. You feel like dumping the weight as your knees grind together, bone on bone, from the years you've been feeling this pain. You can feel your ass about an inch away from the floor. The barbell feels like the weight of the world on your sweaty, chalk covered back. No pussy pads for you as the unforgiving iron rips into the skin of your back.
Up. Here it comes, the hard part. "Oh shit, here we go," you say, as you're about to endure the hardest part of any leg day. You push up, and the weight speeds through your legs like a pissed off locomotive without brakes. Knees shaking, you can feel every fiber pop in your quads as you close your eyes and scream like a trauma victim. You feel your knees lock up, and you run to rack the bar. Before your spotter can even congratulate you, you're trying to run for the porcelain bowl. Your legs are too shredded to even attempt a hobble, so you lose your lunch all over the gym floor. The pretty boys doing their 10 pound curls in their wife beaters think you're a crazy motherfucker, and the girls wearing too much makeup think you're a meathead with no life, but not one of them can deny you that left it all on the gym floor today, in this case, literally.
This is the essence of the forum. This is where the men and women who will take a shaker of Real Gains over a beer, who will miss Friday night with the guys for leg day in the gym, or who won't eat at the Olive Garden but will be sitting in front of brown rice and chicken every night can gather together and share a bond. A bond no one outside of this community can share. We can all walk outside and get called "ridiculous" for our grocery bills or get told we're "obsessed" for our hours in the gym, or get called "steroids" for living each day just as the previous. But in this sanctuary, this forum, we can all look each other in the eye and give that cool, silent nod of understanding.
When no one understands my mental exhaustion without carbs, or the woes of my plateau, or gets why I tear myself apart inside and out every day, I can come into a place with thousands of people just like me and have a virtual second home, just with a click of a mouse. A place where everyone understands, because their experiencing the same walk that I am. The Forum is the place where the slaves of the gym can have a rest from the outside world that shuns them, and continue to improve themselves.
The Forum, the home of the Animals. Can you handle it?
It's the center of the animal lifestyle.
Fortune 500 companies have the conferance room. The US military has the pentagon. NFL teams have the huddle. Basketball teams have the locker room at halftime. Us Animals have the Forvms. This is where we plan our assault. This is OUR drawingboard. When shit is going bad we come here to make it good. When shit is going good, we come here to make it great. The burdens and chains that hold us back are broken and crushed here. This is our headquarters. This is home.

The Via Sacra of ancient Rome was a massive road that ran from the Temple of Jupiter to the Colosseum. Upon returning triumphant, Roman generals would process-- along with scores and scores of victorious warriors-- down the Via Sacra, demonstrating the massive size and strength of the Roman Legion.
The Via Sacra ran directly through The Forvm.
So in addition to what I originally wrote, I want to add the fact that here, in this Forvm, we celebrate our own victories. Our own "generals" guide us with their words and their actions. Here each of us stands proud, one warrior among many, as our own Legion of Iron.
A place to gather and put thoughts together. A place to watch events the circus(crazy lifting sessions), put together ideas, watch the lion fight(see the logs of the big boys fighting through pain and throw up the insane numbers ie dbomb on the 1244 leg press ha ha ha .
The forvm is a common place for all who love iron to come and discuss stories, routines, supplements, and hard work. It's not like the other lazy ass forums though. At Animal they thought the "u" in forum was looking pretty out of shape, so they kicked his ass into shape with the help of Animal products and it put on about 20 lbs. of lean muscle. Which is the reason it actually looks like a cut ass "v" now.

The Forum is not just a message board, but a meeting of the minds; where the brotherhood of iron come to comiserate, inspire, feed, and learn. Like the forum of ancient Rome, the Animal Forum is about forging an empire based on a shared knowledge and betterment of each member. Joining forces through the forum is how we of the greater vision succeed.
The Forvm what is it? That question is a great one. For me the forvm is a place for brotherhood and camaraderie. It’s a place to shoot the shit with friends and find that bit of motivation needed to hit the gym. Its also a sacred place that was built by the Animals of old and new. I love this place its a home for me. A places where people don’t put you down because hey maybe your are carrying a little extra body fat. Its a place that people come and help one anther thru some hard time and good times too. This place is also offers us the opportunity to talk to the Animal staff and see some of the inside working of the Animal/Universal company that we all love. We also have a place to speak our minds and track our progress. Thanks Animals for our new home.
The Forvm is the "cage" inwhich holds ANIMALS. Talk in the "cage" is used as fuel for all who roam their....This fuel is used to feed the ANIMAL inside all of us to go out their and give that 200%... every time.... DO OR DIE

to me the Forvm is a place of respect. we have all travelled a hard road in our lives...but have also answered the call of the iron. and somehow ended up here...i really dont care what brought people here. you are here, that is what matters. Keep living the Animal mentality. our Forvm is built on Respect..being called such dates back to the ancient Roman times where v=u. in the Roman civilization, RESPECT was the main player in life. you could have all the money in the land, but if you didnt have the respect of your fellow peers, or you didnt respect your fellow peers...you weren't shit. living the animal mentality is a 24x7 thing. this is our life. we are Animals. and we respect one another.
