With the exception of a few, nobody just lifts. We all have day jobs, for some of you night jobs. I wanna know what you all do for jobs. What time do you have to work out because of it?
The way I see it, work is just something we do in between workouts to pay for all of our food and supps.

I am a full time student, but I have an internship at the Dallas/Fortworth Airport during the summer where I go and do some physical labor, and it pays pretty damn well. During school, I do some tutoring for some spare cash and my girlfriends father hires me to do some random jobs for him when I come back to town.

I am a Doctor of Chiropractic. In 2000 I went to school in Iowa and my wife was back in Michigan. I had no money, so besides class I went to the gym. Been doing it ever since. Would love to be able to put my knowledge to use, any questions regarding health, injuries and the like pass them along-if I dont know I can surely find out. Peace.

Systems engineer for a large insurance company. I spend my day, and sometimes nights, supporting Windows and Linux systems. Been doing this for 10 years now. It's a decent living.
Due to work and family constraints however, I am forced to lift at 5am. This is good and bad. As for the good, there's barely anyone in the gym. Bad, it also forces me to be in bed by around 9pm, LOL.
owner / manager of a bar.. sleep from 6 am to 2 pm. lifts happen at your dinner time ( my mid morning) or 4 am (my evening) its not easy to maintain and it would be alot easier to be a bum who gets shithoused in the bar every night chasing tail... but im on a road that is higher than that

That means I'm the chef, the vacuumer of carpets, the doer of laundry, and the dispenser of discipline... The only time I have to work out is in the early morning -- getting my ass out of bed at 4:30am most days is a pain, but it's worth it.

I'm a full time student, I also work part-time at a .NET software consulting firm. The firm I work for writes custom conference, and event scheduling software for larger companies like Steelcase, Herman Miller, etc.
It's weird as hell realizing you're sitting in a lab filled w/ Herman Miller furniture and you suddenly think "I just designed the site for the regional sales conference for the company who designed the chair i'm sitting in." I dunno maybe I'm a nut, but I think that's pretty cool considering i'm still a full time student.

I work in the Emergency Dept. as a Physician Assistant in Iowa. I work 12 hour shifts- 11:00 AM- 11:00 PM. On work days I get up at about 5:30 AM. HAve a light meal, will go to the gym around 7:00 AM, work out for 1 hour, go home and have post workout meal, nap, then go to work.
The good thing about 12 hour shifts is I only work 3 or 4 days a week so I have 3-4 days each week to really bring on the pain in the gym with time to recover.

I am a banker and the guy every dude that walks in the bank says, "Wow, you must work out." It's hard bieng in the white collar world as a lifter. I have to sneak away everytime I want to down a shake and I get strange looks in the lunch room with my bag of whey, my shaker and pills arsenal and my massive chicken breasts and broccoli fare. Am I embarressed? Hell no. I just wish I could pause the day when i want to go eat!!
I do love the regular hous though and it allows me to workout twice a day, which is needed when cutting for me. I can't do cardio after lifting. Just can't.

Monday through Thursday I work in IT for a bank from 8pm to 6am. Gotta love the boring desk job part of life. Aside from that, I'm a Pro Wrestler who travels all over the place for shows. Surprisingly, I still find atleast 1.5 hours a day to commit to train.
I think I posted here earlier..I am a student finishing my Bachelors..soon moving on to my Masters in Human Resources Management and this forum. I feel my job is to be here with you guys and help you out the best I can...and add a bit of my 2cents where I deem fit to do so..LOL

Electrical Engineer, work as a military contractor down at Tyndall AFB, Panama City, FL. I usually pull around 10 hour days so a good morning workout always starts the day off right. The base has a gym, so I usually hit it up around 5:00 AM for an hour and a half workout and then head to work. And depending on the day, I might hit up a little cardio at the house when I get home.

Used to have a great job as a FF/Paramedic. Nothin cooler than bringing the dead back to life. Also a great iron schedule. 24 hours on, and 48 hrs off. Iron on the off days, and cardio at the station. Now I've promoted and am stuck in an office for 40/wk. I'm over the EMS operations at the F.D. Still trying to get my lifting schedule back on track. Having trouble getting motivated. Little depressed I guess. I miss the brothers. Oh well, head up....

I am 23 and I work tech support for a company in Troy Michigan. I hate my job and my field but computers in general have been my hobby for about 10 years now.
I have a lot of dreams and ambitions and I am an entrepreneur at heart. Hopefully something will happen for me someday!
I would like to become a firefighter (actually looking into it right now) but the job market for them is not that great from what I hear.
I work at a golf course doing maintenance work with my boy Doug. It's not bad, get to be outside all day instead of cramped in an office, and I'd rather wear boots than dress shoes.. Gotta get up before the sun does, that never sits well with me, but we get out around 3.
I'm in the process of becoming a NYC Police Officer. I actually have my medical review Wed., hopefully hired in July. Looking to transfer into being a cop on Long Island - where the pay is just a bit better than NYC, haha.
I'm a full time high school student. I also work at Shop Rite part time and a recreational camp at my high school over summer. =] lol
i am a watior and my hours tend to vary depending on the shift and the section so my workouts happen whenever i can make them happen. usually either before work or late at night after work. sometimes if i work a double i pack some equipment in my car and workout at a friends house or sometimes i even break out a medicine ball and play wall ball behind the building.
I am a full time med-student which is time consuming and then some, but i make time, i have to. i start the day at 5:30 am with a morning run and workout, school frrom 8-4, work out from 4:30-7 and then again from 11-12, repeat...and when i'm home i work construction, so i start at 5:00 with a run and work out, work from 7-4 work out from 4:30-7 and then again from 11-12 depending on the day...

I'm just curious how many different industries we have covered here and If one industry breeds more animals than another. Im in the fitness industry working as a personal trainer. I dont take myself too seriously though. There's already a lot of cooks in that 'kitchen' at present so i keep my head low and just help people acheive their goals and have a bit of fun while they're at it'
I got it easy because im always at the gym. I always have the opportunity to lift iron. Some of you fellas would be on very tight schedules and busting your ass just to get in to the gym after 12 hours work.
Dont get me wrong though. i paid my dues to have that luxury. I studied for 3 years at night to get my diploma in fitness while i worked during the day and did my duties as a single dad.
What do you do?
