I got a call from a guy from my gym back home last night. He was calling to let me know about a show in Baltimore, MD in two weeks, and was asking if I was dieted at all and was interested in doing the show. After telling him that I hadn't been dieting at all, we talked for a sec then hung up..And the feeling I had that I wished I had been dieting and could do the show was overwhelming. So, I immediately got online, and found the show closest to me that would give me enough time to diet. in 8 weeks tomorrow, the OCB is holding a contest in Wilmington, DE. I'm going to do it. I went out to the bars last night, had my final blowout, will spend this weekend ordering some supplements, and am going to work my ass off until June 13. That phone call yesterday was the final kick in the ass I needed to actually decide to diet.

I start my diet tomorrow, I'm kinda nervous since i have no idea what I'm actually doing. 4 weeks of experimentation never killed anyone though.

As the hours pass, I become more and more ready for this, though. I'm excited for the early morning cardio sessions, though I'm sure this will change pronto lol

Went out last night for my final bit of drinking, though I didn't even have all that much. Chilled with friends in front of 7-11 until 5 a.m. haha. Learning the rope of my new diet today, and doing some food/scale shopping.

gonna go in for some serious sweating cardio today to start getting rid of some initial water from all my cheating this weekend lol

thanks alot bro good to have you along.

Didn't make it in for cardio today, I had to shop and did some more research, especially regarding peak week.

I've decided that I'm only going to be especially scientific about things during peak week, since I only have 8 weeks. Other than peak, I'm going to diet on a caloric deficit, eat totally clean, hit morning cardio 3x/week for 1-2 hrs, depending on my conditioning, supplement heavily with aminos, and use Cuts. I'm going to start Stak and M-Stak 6 weeks out. I'm not sure how much M-Stak will do for me, but any positive effect it does have will be needed. I'll be on ~3200 cals/day, my P/C/F macros to start off will be 35/24/41. I'm going to consume 30g simple carbs post-workout, the rest will be 15g carbs worth of fruit in the morning, then low GI carbs the rest of the day, with mostly fibrous veggies/salad as my carb source at the end of the day. because of my food allergies, I'm going to stay on sweet potatoes, at least for a while, then see if I'm able to handle brown rice again.

I'm going to try this strategy for 10-14 days, see where it has me, and tweak from there.

As far as training, here's my split for now:

Mon- Heavy Back/Traps
Tues- Chest/Delts
Wed- Legs
Thurs- Back Width
Fri- REST
Sat- Arms/Detail Legs
Sun- REST

My back, especially width, has been lacking lately, so I've decided to hit it twice, with my mediocre legs on their own day, plus a leg detail day with arms. My Delts, as a weak point, will be trained with Chest, which I won't have to hit very hard since it is my strongest point.

Also, one of my friends has decided to do this show with me. This is going to be great since he lifts at UMD's gym as well, so we'll be able to diet and train together.

More developments as they come.

As I treat my body in a way it's not used to, it decides it's going to do the same to me. After my first day on low carb, I feel drunk...and now, it's 3:47 a.m. and I can't sleep to save my life. Gotta get up at 6:30 to go in for my cardio. I need to work in some late night almonds or something...prevent myself from having the "cooking myself salmon" dream that woke me up...

I'm so hungry and depleted...i gotta tweak something, by the time 8 weeks is up i'll be flat with no muscle if i stay this way.

just finished packing up my shake/salad/almonds for in between classes, and i'm cooking up my sweet potato now.

From just one day of low carb and this morning's cardio, i'm already noticing a bit more definition, especially in my ab/serratus area.

Head's aching like a mother, probably from dropping from 430g+ carbs per day to ~215g...but i'm hoping its a one or two-day crash, then i'll start feeling a little better. only got 8 weeks, doin things a little differently.

Hypers: 2x 15(BW), 15, 15 (25lb)
Rev. Pec Deck: 3x 15, 12, 12 (end w/ 90lb)

4 sets Broomstick twists w/ 35lb bar

Felt really good despite my low-carb haze.

I'm already looking way more cut up, and my abs are starting to pop more, as are my already sizeable inner chest striations..LOVIN IT!

yeah man, the gym has all the equipment i'd need..the environment/crowd/rules are less than bodybuilder-friendly, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do. There are actually a couple bodybuilders who lift in the gym who go to umd.

Nice, nice. Yea my best friend's girlfriend goes to UMD. I stayed in the "apartments" that are on campus last week, I think Preinkert?? Trained at the gym on campus last year when I visited.

yeahh by the end i was makin the kinda noise that the whole gym was staring...or maybe it was the lightWEIGHT babayyyyy.

I'm feeling some better today, my body seems to be quickly adjusting to the drop in carbs

ALL my bloating is gone, it's crazy. Also, I felt like I was living in a haze yesterday, and today i'd say that's about 50% gone..I'm tired, but that could be from two nights of 6 hours of sleep.

Over all, I'm feeling great, and my shoulders, which i usually hate, are looking some better due to my decreased waistline. Crazy what an optical illusion it all is!

Calves: murder


The diet is still going smoothly. I had some simple carbs post workout, and it felt like a damn drug.

Hit legs yesterday:

Leg ext.: 4x20,15,10,10
Smith Squat: 4x15,10,6,6 (ended at 315, those extensions made my quads useless)
Lying leg ext: 3x10 inc. weight
Hack Squat: 3x10,8,8
1-Leg standing curl: 3x10,10,8
1-Leg ext.: 3x10

I'm looking at ways I can tweak my diet, maybe add in some carbs, with a little less fat..I'm so tired all the time, and yesterday's leg workout felt pretty subpar

Weighed in at 190.8 cold today, down about 4 lbs..alot of water. More cuts are definitely noticable, especially my lower chest, abs, and bicep/delt tie-ins

Back Width a little later today.

There are plenty of pre-contest diets that include carbs, and a reasonable amount at that. Maybe you should go the low-fat route instead of the low-carb route.

thanks for the input bro. what i've realized though, with all of my food allergies (mostly to carb-related stuff), is that carbs aren't exactly what i need alot of. i'm trying today to keep my cals the same, except eat as much salad as i want, which will add some carbs, and i'm just counting the dressing towards my fat. gonna see if this route works.

Looks like a good stack. My .02 is to drop pump (i try to regulate NO products to offseason use) and use m-stak instead. Also, add Zero G to your second can of cuts.

already ordered the pump, got one can of it so i can get off NO and creatine two weeks out. But yeah that might have been a good idea, but i already ordered, and i couldnt spring for any more supps..we'll see how it goes i guess. first show's all about experimentation

The diet's still going pretty well. I'm down a notch in my lifting belt, which is a good sign. I'm not sure what to do with my carbs right now, i'm feeling a little more bloated since i upped them again..maybe it's because i ran out of salad the last couple days so i've been adding 2oz sweet potato.
I'm thinking about upping my cardio to 4 or 5 times a week instead of 3.

Back Width today. probably gonna be short and sweet with it, then hit some abs and calves.

yeah i'm hoping everything goes at least somewhat as planned.

I think i need to drop my cals some more at this point.

Tuesday: did morning cardio, Rested, went out for my boy's bday to Chevy's and had two steak and shrimp fajita platters. without question the greatest cheat meal, or any meal, that i've ever eaten. $30 of pure heaven

Wednesday: Back Width w/ wesleyfootball

Gluten (oats, wheat, etc)
Milk (lactose and milk protein/whey/casein protein)
Peanuts
Chicken
Animal Cuts

BUT, i get shit done nonetheless. no fuckin excuses.

Solid ass chest lift today:

Incline HS: 3x10
BW Chest dip: 3x10
Flat BB bench: 3x15 (@135 lbs, got a pretty sick pump)
1-hand cbl crossunder (1 rep= one rep to above pec, one below): 3x8each side

Cardio: Sprint intervals

Ate 6oz tuna

then hit Calves: Standing raise, Seated raise, one-side BW raises on mil. press spotter platform

Dude just buy yourself some Bronkaid and caffeine tabs from CVS and you've got the original EC stack, probably the best fat burner out there and much cheaper than fat burning supps.

I did plenty of research on different forums and Bronkaid is by far the most popular choice for sources of ephedrine. And if you're talking about Primatene as the better alternative, it would cost twice as much to get .8 mg more ephedra extract which for all practical purposes would make absolutely no difference. Bronkaid is legit

I'm pretty sure the e-sulfate in it counts as a banned substance by the ocb. Their list of banned substances includes ephedra and ephedrine, unfortunately.

Oh in that case you could drinking some liquid l-carnitine before your cardio sessions. Also, you might want to try and find out what you're allergic to in cuts because it has many of the same ingredients as other fat burners

yeah you're def right p, before i got in my cuts i had been taking Controlled labs REDuction AM and PM..just some samples i had..and they both made me feel like shit.

So add to my previous list of allergies:

Eggs
Fat Burners

might as well go crawl in a whole with some turkey and almonds for the rest of my life

ALL went DOWNHILL from here though. I had two tests on monday, and was up until 6 a.m. in the morning studying, after spending all day Sunday jacked up on coffee. So yesterday, running on coffee and three hours of sleep, i napped for 3 hrs then wrote the rest of my paper due today, so was up until 3:30 doing that.

Diet's right back on track today, hitting chest with wesleyfootball and Wreck, we're gonna do some fuckin work i can't wait.

From here on out is pretty much summer break except for two relatively easy finals, so diet and training will be dead on up until my show.

EDIT: lol, "6 a.m. in the morning"...duh
