I also was born and raised near chicago... Buffalo Grove / Arlington Heights. I now go to school in Milwaukee.

Went to golds from where we moved recently in Tinley Park which switched its name to Diamonds. Theres a Cardinal Gym 4 minutes from where i live now in Joliet that i got a 1 month try out membership thinking about making a switch after, nice gym but db's only go up to 100's not working out with those.

that's great i go to the regular ass ballys the biggest dumbbells they got are 100s they are still to much for me but i am looking foward to sign and b&w gym (hardcore gym) they are number 7 on the top ten in the whole nation (animal pak's top list)Went to golds from where we moved recently in Tinley Park which switched its name to Diamonds. Have you had a chance to check it out? I really don't mind Bally's over here they don't mind the heavy lifting either, you know 315+ on deads and squats, but the DB's are only up to 100lb also.
Unrelated ? what part of Mexico u from?, I'm from Durango, and grew up on 26th st and went to Juarez H.S.

other than that the only thing i hate about ballys is the space takers
aka mr i wanna lose 40 pounds in a month by doing cardio 3 times a week

Man, I would love to find a gym like that around here...just a fucking dungeon, but being out here in the burbs I doubt it.
I hear you about the space takers at Bally's, they are a dime a dozen out here also, that's why I try to go on off hours, most of these guys are there only when all the chicks go to the gym

Where you thinking about switching to? I go to World Gym on Jefferson Street. Not too shabby, it has what I need, is open 24 hours, and is cheap.

I wasnt sure I was going to look around, I seen a golds but now to big on the golds anymore the way they have been changing so rapidly. Ya I seen Worlds when I was passing by one day. How is it there. How much around? Cardinal blows with the price you think it would be gigantic not some little health club for a $50 one month membership.

World is about $300 or so to join for a year. It's fairly big, with a decent selection of free weight equipment (one set of dumbbells goes up to 150 or so) as well as machines, plus a good amount of cardio equipment. Not to mention the fact that they are open for 24 hours, which is convenient. I mean, there are nicer gyms around, but World gets the job done, and the price is right. They'll let you work out there your first time for free I think, so you can try it out.

the old powerhouse by the mall was the gym i went too....now its a golds and just not the same.....
Did not know the chi was repped so well man I work out at the cardinal fitness on 111th right of western in beverly/morgan park area I can w/o at any cardinal dunno if anybody else has a membership at cardinal though. lets get a boot camp together shit dont care who puts it together that sould be sick animal hitting the iron arrrrggghhhh that gets me fired up thinking about it...that is why I started this post...
