Depending on what you do your appearance has a major impact on your employment. I can tell you that I have had a couple of younger guys come in for interviews with me and I decided at the onset that i wouldn't hire them because they (young white boys) had the big circles inside their ears (african tribal I think). I don't see how you can do something like this to your body and expect to hold a corporate position. You have to come to an understanding that there is always going to be a line that is drawn on weither you want to promote your piercings or your paycheck. When you are 18 something might sound cool to do, but when you graduate from college at 22-23, it doesn't come off that way to a 40 something person that you are interviewing with.
IMO / tats are the same as skin, many colors and they aint goin anywhere. NO ONE should judge

Unfortunately I started out with a non-professional tattooist.. a real cheese head.. he rehearsed in the room next to where my band practised.. tattooed people in his own fucking kitchen, hehe. And my how my forearm looked after being treated by that idiot.. like plain shit!
Today, basically my entire left forearm is covered with thick black.. both my arms and half my chest are covered with various stuff; the outside of my right leg has two large japanese koi fish on it. If I could relive the past, I would have done it all japanese instead.. sleeves and the whole lot.. damn.

im sure the light would affect it the same way that normal tattoos react. i forgot to mention the removal only takes one session. a lot of people are going to change their mind about tattoos i think, or i hope rather.

my parents were totally against them till i dedicated my tat to my father who got me into the game in the first place, i got his initials and mine on there and a barbell in between. below is a fireman's cross pendant between eagles wings. they love it. not that they want me to get anymore but at least it means something

I hate tattoos. Even the name "tattoo" annoys me. I have never thought some1 was rebellious or cool for having a tattoo. And it bothers me to see a girl w/ a "tramp stamp" because its more unique to not have one than it is to have one. Unless its lee priest because any1 who puts that tattoo on their face has to be insane lol. I wanted one for a while but then I figured I know I would regret it later, and seeing every1 else get them makes me not want to cuzz im used to going against the grain. But do what you want.

Bro to me a tat represents you or something of a personal memory, and when I get my 1st tat in the next year or 2 (depending on when I can get the cash) it's gonna be a the Animal Logo with "Make 'em choke" right below it, a statement that has kept my outlook on life what it has been for a very long time now, and is one that has been a keen statement of who I am.Idc if you have one or not, if your a good person, then your cool with me.

Dude I wen to on my 15th b-day(to look around for the upcoming year lol)said most would do it for about $300 being the design and letter font etc.Right now I'm trying to get green for my trip to York Barbell up in pennsylvania this summer where I wanna pick up some more weight and hopefully a power rack.When i get my liscense and can start working at Iron works in callahan(hopefully) part time I will prolly get it within a couple months or so.Can't wait though that's for sure!

Also agree. Working for the Air Force, I still have to conform a bit to certain standards as well. I can get away with a bit more b/c of what I do, but still conforming is shitty nevertheless. There's always long sleeves bro! I believe in personal freedoms, i.e. tattoos and don't think a job should discriminate against it, but that's not the world we live in. Just gotta be creative!
i watched something about full tattoos, supposed to be common with the japanese yakuza... but its from neck down completely covers the body except the wrists and ankles, and it was hard for them to hide that, but theres a guy over there that started moving up the end of the tattoo on the arm a lil bit and leaves the center of the torso open so if you have a button down on nobody can see it threw the holes.. thought that was pretty fucking creative to do something like that cause people didnt want to show off to everyone, just some people..
I got 2 right now, and def plan on getting more. They are addicting as all hell and i plan on getting more.

come on man you should have better shit to do than regret getting tattoos. i have one i got cause a good buddy of mine had a stepdad who died of cancer and i got a tattoo as a memorial, i dont talk to the guy anymore but im real close to his brothers and his mom, and everytime i see her i have to take off my shirt so she can look at it.. i dont care if 25 years from now i dotn talk to any of them, i love them like my own family and wouldnt swap the money i spent or the pain i took to give the joy and memories i gave 3 dear friends of mine for anything..

the only problem i have with tats is that it covers a part of your body forever..i work real hard in the gym on every part of my body, why cover up any of it with ink..again thats just me, i like tats and would get one if i could take it off in a few months lol

Its a double tribute to my ancestory. They were Odin's familiars, as well as highly respected by the native americans on my father's side. -T.

yeah man i know a few girls with them and most are quite respectable...
the point isnt really to be rebellious or cool, the point is to physically display something important to them, we haven't spend hundreds or thousands of dollars just to be "cool"

I have 2... One is terrible from college, on my belly, which is getting covered after my show... I had 14 bucks, borrowed a dollar, and got a 15 dollar tattoo... LMAO (Boy, I wish I knew something about hygeine back then....lol) That one was in the early 90's....
When I was going through my divorce about 5 years ago, I had a set of eyes put on my lower back (definitely not a TRAMP STAMP thank you very much).... I am a teacher and don't go showing myself.... It's more personal than anything.... But, I thought long and hard about what I wanted, my tat guy drew it up for me and I loved it... It's a thought of watching my own back and having them watch over me.... Since I have had 2 back surgeries and my neurosurgeon did a FANTASTIC job and you can't tell I have incisions there!!!
Anyway, I am having more work done to the eyes and having the work come AROUND my hip bones on over to the pubic bone to incorporate BOTH and it will cover my first....
I can't wait, it's addicting....lol
I wasn't considering a tattoo until I got into bodybuilding. I've always liked them on women, and have seen some pretty cool ones on men and women.

I have a liger tattoo....lol...its a lion its like a tribal portait but the mane goes over my shoulder and down my tricep so it looks like tiger stripes in a t-shirt....so when people as I tell them i have a liger and it is know for its magical powers....lol
and I know plenty of ladys with the lower back in that arnt tramps...it was all the fad a while back like tribal arm bands....they have names for guys with those too

my buddy complained the one on his arm, and i laughed at him and called him a pussy (no offense ladies). But the ones on my back and left pec hurt BBAAAD.. actually the one on my back when he went over my spine the 1st time i teared up for a min...

I have heard that the ribs are terrible.... Anywhere there is little fat underlying the skin is supposedly worse....
I am a teacher, so I have to be picky about where I get them... I have 8th graders and they, of course, think they are cool, but I still need to be "presentable"... I live in a VERY small rural area and it's not so "accepted"... We have one of the BEST artists anywhere also, but he's considered freakish because he's tatted.... Plus he's about 6' 5" and a VERY LARGE man....lol Cool as shit though, I wouldn't trade him for the world....
Now I have the "itch" to get more done....

I am getting my first tattoo in april. My best friend died in April 05 and he lived by the saying "Stay Strong Never Forget" It means that you have to stay strong in life always moving forward with positivity in mind, striving to do your best in any situation...but you can never forget the things that happened to you in life, good or bad that made you who you are today.
Since he left this world I have chosen that as my motto in life. It means more to me than anything and I will be putting that permanently on my left arm starting just below the top of my shoulder coming down half way through my arm.
This was my initial design:

But since I designed that about a year ago my pitbull, Bentley passed away. I am now working on modifications. It is going to have a coat of arms with a lion on one side and a pitbull on the other side as well as a few other modifications.

i have one on my tricep, just runs almost to the elbow.. i actually couldnt even feel it til he was almsot done and for some reason he started pushing harder then i could barely feel it.. but i want to get one on my inner Tricep, seems liek it maybe a bit uncomfortbale but still cool.. i was thinkin about overcome liek machine has on his forearm.. jsut a badass tattoo, and very inspiring

It's interesting what you say - that by not getting a tattoo, you're "going against the grain". It used to be that getting one was. What's changed? What happened? Tats are far more respectable now, more mainstream. They are no longer relegated to the fringes of society. I guess like rap music, for example, tattoos are being embraced by the masses, the middle classes, the bourgeoisie.

I never liked tattoos at all and my girlfriend constantly nagged me to get one. so for that reason i didnt. just after i broke up with her, my grandfather died. after my father died when i was 8, my grandfather had looked after me and been the father figure in my life. I decided to get something in memory of them. its a celtic cross with 2 sides. one side for my dad, one side for my grandfather.
I see a lot of skinny dudes with tatts on their shoulders and I wanted to have big shoulders for this tattoo. I wanted to deserve it, to feel like a man. so i vowed to only get it when i had built my shoulders up. Its something i felt i needed to do. So I did.
No regrets. Here is a pic of it. im not a huge guy like most of you fellas. just lean i guess. this pic is me with the mrs before our nye party to end off 07.

The guy who did one of my last ones is absolutely SICK! He'd draw up WEC and make anyone want it! Kinda scary actually that I kinda let him do his own thing on my design, but it's definitely the best one I've got.
I wish Universal would bring back the tattoo booth. I would gladly get the Animal A while there. Be worth it.

I have a symbol for loyality on my right shoulder, got it about 7 years ago. My fathers name was Loyal, he passed around the same time, so it fits well.
I have been itching for a new tat for a long time and finally decided what I want down. I will getting an image of the mythical Phoenix on my left shoulder.

A lot of tatooist won`t tatoo hands/face or neck anymore b ut there are some around.
The A symbol is a good one, been thinking of having that tatooed on my upper back where it is on the Animal shirts.

I've got a tribal i drew up with my twin sons names in it that wraps completely around my left bicep (I think of them as my strength), i have my daughters name forming into a heart above my heart for obvious reasons and i have my youngest boys name in Chinese on my upper spine (between shoulder blades) with the words mind, body and spirit above it also in Chinese. And finally, i have a large Hulk busting out of my right shoulder/bicep area which has a story behind it..ill save it for later. I am going to get a couple more VERY soon. I am planning on getting the Animal "A" on one of my elbows and "No Good Deed Goes UNPUNISHED" on my Abs. Just saving up the money right now and then its on...lol. Take care bros.

Personally I have my right arm 1/2 sleeved some on my chest back and leg. I have my left arm 1/2 sleeve minus the inside. I havent finished that part yet. I have my left ribs done. The only thing that i can tell is when I do the double bi' pose my left looks huge beause you cant see the def on my rt. bi because of the tat. But if you look at the out line of both bi's you will see the are the same size.

I don't think so. I asked the head honcho of FAME if my body art would and he said "no". If that is true of scarification, I don't see why it would be of tats.

Nah bro they'll remain the same. I got a shit load of tats and all that happens is they appear smaller cause your body has grown, but the tats are what they are, ink permanently cut into your skin and they will forever remain the same.

hey bro i think there is another thread on this. i dont know where its at but do a search and there is a lot of info on this. but i to have tats and i have put on muscle size since i have gotten them and they are fine. some look a lil smaller due to my size but other then that you will be ok bro so no worries. plus i love ink so i plan on gett'n a ton more.

i have one like that too. that was the most painful one i got but well worth it after the 5hour sit.
got a big shoulder tat when I was 16 and now 28 and much larger and no changes at all. Nothing to worry about. That being said heres a fun question. If you have tats and you started lifting hard and they actually did stretch would you continue to lift? Knowing that your tats could be ruined? I dont know if I myself cant answer this but thank god they remain to look the same. LOL

if you gain too much weight they will definitely stretch, if your skin stretches the tats will too

ribs are not a bad spot for them, just depends on your pain threshold... i have a rather high tolerance for pain, and have big tatts on each side of my ribcages..... -shrug.

yea I consider myself to have a pretty good tolerance for pain. Every tat I've gotten I sat and endured it with no problems. Got two half sleeves in progress, one on my chest, and two on my back. I'm gonna get another one real soon!

just recently got another one. my left shoulder. its a black tribal bull with the words OVERCOME written above it. its symbolic for how i attack my goals...aggressively, much like a bull. it also is symbolic to me to stay strong emotionally, physically, mentally and spiritually and is a reminder to me to overcome any and all obstacles.
