Hey guys, last week I strained the muscles in my forearm, doing preacher curls with the z bar on the larry scott machine.
That never happened before. Can it be because I grab the bar too hard with my hands?
Shit, dunno what is going on, but this week is fucked up...just keep hurtin' myself...

give it a week or so and you'll probably be fine. Be careful doing back too. Take a few days off, ice it down.

this is solid advice...and if it doesn't get better then get it checked out.
Does it hurt in the muscle or does it hurt right near your bone?
Doing preacher curls I will feel pain near my bone when going heavy. To me its similar to shin splints, but in my arm. It hurts, but it can be worked through.

It hurts directly next to the bone....It is not that I can't take the pain through the excesise, but as soon as I open my hand, it starts hurtin like hell....
That sounds kind of what I've had, once you let go of the bar after the exercise it hurts a hell of a lot more. If it doesnt go away, definitely go get it checked out.

Ice it and stop doing curls with a bar for a long while.
Deveop your arms by working your triceps and slowly start curling with dumbells.
If it hurts - Don't do it.

Probably because machines provide you with a fixed range of motion that is unnatural to the human body stabilizing the weight for you and working outside of the body's three dimensional plane. Working in machines can be hard on your joints because they're not used to the unnatural movement pattern.

Hell yeah. If you have huge biceps but no triceps your arms look retarded. But you can have giant tris and flat bis, your arms will still look good.
