I have never had Monkfish before tonight. The place where I food shop has excellent meat/seafood department. I am trying to incorporate more fish in my diet, it's extremely lean and digests very easily. I bought an 11 oz. piece of monkfish to try. It was very easy to make and it was delicious, I was pleasantly surprised.

Here is how I prepared/cooked it:

If it's not raining out I will be outside on my grill. I love cooking on the grill and the food tastes better to me. First I prepared the fish:

On both sides I brushed it lightly with a little extra virgin olive oil, added fresh ground sea salt and sprinkled it with lemon pepper seasoning.

I then prepared the grill by brushing it with some sesame oil while hot (sesame oil has a high smoke point). When the grill was hot enough I put the fish on. Grilled it 5 minutes each side, came out perfect.

If you are looking for some variety this is a good choice.

I've never even heard of buffalo fish. I happen to like salmon a lot. Another favorite is orange roughy, very tasty.

Yeah monkfish is good. It's "the poor man's lobster" ... the taste and texture are both very pretty similar to lobster

I can't say I am consistently adding more fats however I think I should. The olive oil on the fish was really added for taste however it does double duty at providing EFA's.
