So my gym is small and you can bring your own music and play it through their system. I share the gym with all elderly people. So anyway i went down tonight with my disturbed, metallica...you know the good shit. But the old fogies were playing friggin Frank Sinatra. Sinatra ain't bad, but to lift to? I was so out of sorts i could not concentrate. It ended in a low intensity workout which was terrible. I learned my lesson now though, ya gotta get there before the olf folks.

hahaha man that reminds me of when i used to lift in my highschool gym. We were allowed to play whatever we wanted pretty much. One day this fat ass teacher came in and decided she'd rather listen to her own mix. you wont beleive what she put in man, she put in a cd full of whale calling. that shit makes sinatra look like a badass

They must be REAL old! I'll be 58 in a few days and it's AC/DC for my lifting and selected stuff from "The Boss" for cardio.

I hear ya bro. I hate that shit when I'm working out. There are certain types of music that should be outlawed from gyms... bubblegum pop, oldies, classical, pan flute etc. Play shit that'll get ya pumped up. That's why I bring headphones with me. I can't depend on the gym having the same taste in music as me. I won't let their shitty Britney Spears, top 40 pop dictate how my workout goes.

ya i usually bring my own music, but here i don't because we can put our own shit on. I think i am gonna start again though. Ahh well shit happens i guess, but i won't make the same mistake again.

MP3 Player bro!!!

iPod or Zune (zune personally) and crank that up thru some insulated headphones.

can't beat it. my 24hr fitness always plays the lamest crap... its 20 mins away, but if i forget my mp3 player, i'm going straight home for it!

Kind of a thread bump here, but where do you guys attach your ipods and stuff on your body? I had an arm rap for mine...and not to brag, but everytime I lift that thing pops off. They made it for lanky runners or something, I ain't even that big.

The point is, even on the arm, that shit gets in the way all the time.

I feel your pain ranger_kyle...I like some good tunes to get me in the zone. But not always can i blast the Metallica and some SystemOfADown, for the olld folks might have a stroke. Ipods come in handy, for this, but i prefer being the first to hit the gym in the morning before school. Nothing like heavy metal and a good dose of Iron to start the day off.
