Im usualy a pretty mellow fellow...but after seeing this thread....Im a bit miffed....why is it so many of our brothers in iron complain about the surroundings at the gym...I mean..I have pitched in on some threads on this topic...but I state that I do not dwell on it for long...we are in the gym to train...when I walk back to the free weight room and its packed...and Ihad my mind set on a killer chest.....I just switch hit and hit the cables and a few machines and get my pump regardless....when someone asks me a stupid question...I do my best to help...when I see someone doing something dumb on the bench or machine...I try to help...when some curry eating dude is burping up garlic and smelling up the place like a garbage bin on a hot summer day...I just move to another area.....and so on...what Im saying here is....as an animal...not only are we strong willed..but...as an animal...we can be smart and change with the environment and get the best from our gym time as we can........anyway...its all good....I rather see more positive threads...this is a forum for truth...and I think also some good positive vibes as well...lets keep our chins up and fucused on the pump....fuck everything else...

Haha fuck me that's funny shit Vinny. And Suleiman if you keep getting all worked up like this you're going to be a big heap of intense cortisol levels brother, COOL OUT! You need to work on your tunnel vision in the gym and focus on the only important task at hand, your workout. Maybe you should switch your cardio up to punching a bag for an extended period of time to get rid of that, but if you're this angry at 16 you're not going to last long. I may get a little worked up in the gym but I leave it all there, and focus on being nice to people and laughing and joking outside. It's cliche but it's true: life's too short to be angry. Fix your attitude because that's all you can control. Peace.

yeah man, woa relax a little bit. I really have no clue what you were trying to say, something about someone thought your chest was puffy, or wasn't puffy or something and now you're pissed. I used to be the same way back in high school, where everything would get to me, I'd get upset about any little thing anyone said. It's important to remember this: THE LEAD DOG ALWAYS GETS THE MOST THORNS. You gotta have the skin of a rhino, tough, rigid and impenitrable. The only time I get pissed in a gym is when someone jumps on the machine I was just trying to superset, or if the squat rack is hogged up by people not really squatting, or if i'm tryin to deadlift 350 for 6 reps and only get 5. Don't take things so personally, to be sucessful in ANY calling you must be able to deal with critisism.

U need to focus your rage into your lifting....this might sound funny but at the time i was pissed but now i laugh...today doin hang cleans i lost my head phones for my ipod an i had just had them this morning so i was all pissed off for some reason..i did 165 last week and i only got 8. i was so mad about my headphones i did 165 for 15 this week. That my friend is what you need to do, vent in the gym not on here.

I hold my workouts to my own standards and sometimes things don't feel right and I can't get it together. what does being a soldier have anything to do with spelling? I myself am pursuing a college degree during and after my time in the military.
It is a common stereotype to think soldiers are dumb, but I can tell you that this is not the case. Many soldiers in my unit had master's degrees, and some were even physicians, general practicioners, and lawyers, with the added benefit of combat experience.
p.s. I too thought soldiers were dumb before I joined the service and became a soldier myself.

YEAH this weekend i learned that i shouldnt care about others and shouldnt get angry so fast...so from now on ama be the better man fuck what everybody says..sure time to time i'll get angry but you know what thats life and this world is full of haters so i figure its time to just brush them off....so i think for all of us who lose it to quick to some stupid remark/comment should just walk away.... like one of the articles on animalpak.com was about controlled rage...basically we should control that rage and unleash it the gym thats what being animal is about.....not to mention someone once said that animal is 30% percent physical and 70% mental.....so yeah men brush those fucking haters lol
and yeah my bad i do know to spell i guess anger can distort the mind..

dude we are all human. I would love to tell you that I always channel my anger into my workouts, but sometimes it slips and one of my dumbass room mates gets the hammer dropped on them. Make sure you dont burn bridges down that you might want to walk again. This includes family, true friends, and people that help you to reach your goals. Fuck the rest they are dead weight.

thank you...but sriously, i get guys that want to come to my studio and have me train them...and then they get into telling me a story about how they told some "jerkoff" at the gym off....

at that point, i tell the guy or kid.....next session you are training legs with ME.....and after i torture the guy, i tell him to look in the mirror...see that face, is it the same face as the guy who you thought was a "jerkoff"?
i explain this....maybe next time, ask the guy if he needs a spot, maybe he feels sick from a hard training session, but is affraid that your gonna be the "jerkoff" who has the ATTITUDE.

the first bodypart exercises i did was the wide-grip cable pulldown and seated cable row.
I think a lot of newbies in my gym were doing these the first time they ever exercised because they're the easiest equipment/exercise one can handle (although almost all of first timers had bad form doing it).

They distracted me. If I can't focus 100% on the weight and my posture, then any potential benefit they offer is really outweighed by the liability. There are studies for and against the use of them. Debate aside poor posture will screw up your back belt or not belt. So ultimately then no belt for me is the safest route. A lot of people I see use a belt think it'll save their back, truth is nothing is a replacement for proper form.

I did chest, i remember it well, just over a year ago, maybe a year and 3 months, maxed out my bench at 80 lbs for 1 lol
thats what i think about whenever i have thoughts that im not progressing, cuz i cant even argue with myself that a bench from 80 lbs to 245 lbs in about a year isnt progress
