Ive been hearing now from a bunch of tried and tested individuals about the benefits mixing up high rep days with low rep days. Ive been used to sticking to a low rep 5x5 scheme with good results so far, but nothing crazy... would my body build stronger muscle from mixing up the weight/reps now and then? or should i stick to keeping it heavy as possible with low reps?

so my routine that i find works best for me that Ive been using for a few months now is
a basic push/pull/dynamic regiment.

PUSH-
back squats
standing press
bench
dips

PULL-
deads
rows
pullups
bb curls

DYNAMIC-
front squats
cleans
db snatch
close grip bench

On the pull-ups, with reps above 10 I would add weight to those, same with rows. Then do some high rep days. Deads heavy/low reps is good, some days for me lower weight/increased reps really help with my abilty to get a better pull and keep intensity high. Always have to watch your form....my 2 cents. Mixing it up can't hurt....i think that may be a westside technique???

Do both.

Day 1- Heavy Push/5X5
Day 2- Light Pull/3X10
Day 3- Off
Day 4- Light Push/3X10
Day 5- Heavy Pull/5X5
