Today I'm going to try something I've wanted to try since I saw Robb Orlando squat 200lbs for 100 reps...I'm going to try it at 135lbs...no belt, no wraps, just raw intensity.
I'll be recording it tonight at my gym. I'm going to try to not rack the weight until I reach 100 reps, however long that may take. If I don't get it, I will still post the video. Failure is not an end, it is a start to grow from.
I'll be wearing my Animal Skullie and blaring Disturbed through my iPod.
Sit down, buckle up, and clinch your knuckles...let's ride.

Good luck man, awesome idea!! I have been trying to do 135 for 50 reps for the past few weeks because I heard Tom Platz used to do insane things like this, but 100 is another animal lol.

I got the 100 reps.
Then I turned around to ask the guy if he got it all, and there was my camera just laying around. I went up to the guy and asked if he got it all...
...he said no, he stopped around 50 because he was bored, and because he had to finish his workout.
I'm going to do this again, and get a respectable guy to hold the camera.
The video of today will be up in a little while.

Here's the video...it shows up to 43 reps.
I am going to do it again and get it on video, and I'm probably going to up the weight...it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be.

Awesome effort bro!
Shame that you didn't get the whole thing on camera.
I can only imagine how that bar must have felt on your back towards the end of the set.
That's the thing most people take forgranted with high rep squatting, the hips and legs can take on hell of a beating but man does that bar start to feel heavy on the back after a while!
I've done 75 before, going in 15 rep increments, then taking a few deep breaths and going back into it. I remember it was the first time I have ever gotten lightheaded. If I'm up to it, maybe I'll give it a go on Wednesday and report back.

It actually felt really good. I have just found an exact spot on my back that feels good and stays locked in place. My lower back did start getting really really tight near the end.
And whatever about not getting it all...I'll do it again, and next time it will be heavier.

Do it up, we'll start a new trend haha It actually wasn't that bad...my regular CrossFit workouts exhaust me more than that on the reg, and the beta ala9 definitely works to keep the burn away...but the deep muscular failure was something I haven't really ever felt before. Afterwards, instead of just catching my breath and settling my stomach...I instead felt just reeeeeally tired, almost like I was ready for bed.
Overall, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. CrossFit has definitely put me in absolutely outstanding shape. I think I'll keep training and hit 100 reps at bodyweight in a couple of weeks, depending on how I feel, I really don't want to overtrain.

I've found the sweet spot for me is right inbetween, not high or low bar, but right above my rear delts.
100 reps is just ridiculous, I've never gone much over 20, when doing breathing squat cycles.
You ever try those? Taking your 10 rep max and grinding for 20?
How much you going for next time?

I have done breathing squats, and they get me pretty lightheaded, but just in a hyperventilated way haha
I'm going to try my bodyweight next time, 190lbs...but I need to make sure I absolutely hit parallel...on some of tonight's squats, my depth was questionable. I don't like that. I would rather do this again at 135lbs and get a nice full depth than go 190lbs and look back at my form with regret.

I've actually found I can get deeper with heavier weights than lighter warm up weights lol, you need some weight to push you down!
bw x100 woul be one hel of an accomplishment, hell bw x20 is getting somewhere as it is.
You might want to see if you can set up a box or something on the side of you rack that way you can be certain you get it all on film and at the right angle, or just make it clear to whoever holds the camera that they are going to be there for a while lol.

I'm going to have my lady friend film it for me the next go around.
I'm feeling kind of insane lately...
Maybe I could do a 100 rep set of Bench? hahaha
I'm no powerlifter...I'm not a freak in that way...
...but I can be a freak in my own way.

I don't believe in doing century sets with machines. Century sets force your body to utilize other supporting muscles when using freeweights, and with machines, it's very easy to take a rest.
To be honest, I haven't used a single machine or cable in months.
Very impressive work Tiger.
Thanks J Dawg.

Hit 225 for 50 lastnight, did it in 7 sets. I know it's not 100, but it was still a good way to kickoff the leg workout.
