This is my best friends gym. We built it when our old gym shut down. Took 3 months to throw it together. It's been open a little over a year now and is doing good. Well over 100 members. No contracts, No enrollment fees and open 365 days a year from 5am -midnight. You come and go as you please with your keycard. What do you guys think???

Looks good, concept is good, the Machine posers are a nice touch, Somone needs to rack those dumbells, unless you did it for the pic.

I like the no contract gyms, The last thing you wanna do at a gym is sign your soul away. :P

How did you get the $$$ for that? Business Loan or just saved up the cash?
I didn't come up with any $$$ My freind and his girl just got a loan. I just help do half the work on the place. The main reason behind it was for use to have a place to workout, but to pay the bills you have to cater to the regular non intense lifting crowd. The reason for the walls and what not. You can still yell and scream if need be and play what you want on the radio. Some people have complained things but since my buddy owns it he just says fuck it they can cancel thier membership if the dont like it.
I like your gym. Is that me up on the wall ? I only have one problem. Its too clean. Thow some shit around or mess it up a little. Nice work though , can I join ? How much do I have to pay?

Yep your on the walls. Like I said before it stays clean for the people that frequent all of 1-2 times a week. Basicly its clean so we can have our own gym paid for. Works for me.
Sure you can join. Doubt its close to you. Swing by and you can have a couple free workouts.

That is my dream man, I want to open a gym here in Wichita, KS but people keep telling me it will fail...
We have a gym chain here call Genesis and they charge an enrolment fee + 45 a month per person...
I was going to open a 'hardcore' gym and have no enrolment and charge $30 a month to be a member. All cash or check paid on the first. You get a new membership card each month to show when you come in, etc... Nothing fancy. Just weights, blood and sweat...

This happens to be a dream my wife and I share. Once I get settled somewhere as a professor, we'd like to open a gym that my wife could (mostly) run. I'd be responsible for getting equipment, she'd be responsible for day to day operations. I'd be the old-school aspect, and she'd maintain some studios in back for aerobics and yoga and what not (she's been an instructor for awhile now).
We're both looking to earn personal trainer certifications in a few years with our free time (not that free time exists for doctoral students and parents) and bring this shit to fruition.
Congrats on being a part of something special, man. Seems like a cool place!

i like that you stuck with the traditional iron plates bro. none of that plastic coated fancy stuff or whatever that shit is. not that it isn't cool to use every once in a while, the stuff is quiet. but you can't go wrong with the sound of iron.

Love the gym. Glad you guys are able to get it off the ground. I'd love to start a gym myself, but I am afraid I am no business man and my gym would be too hardcore for the average person which is what you need to survive but I may try anyway. Anyway good luck.

I like it a lot actually. The small set of dumbbells isn't a problem for me... I don't use more than 50's for about anything heh...
awesome looking place, man. Seriously. I wish like hell I had a set-up like that around by me.

I have opened up 4 stores of my own while working full time at another job.
My one bit of advice...keep up with the paperwork! That shit catches up to you real quick. Stay on top of your advertising and make sure that place stays as clean as the day you opened it.
