To some Iron bars may represent captivity, imprisonment or bondage. But not to me.
As I see it Iron bars represent freedom, Peace, and a sense of wholeness and fulfillment. Plate racked against plate sliding the length of the bar ends each infinitesimal pound adding one by one to greatness.
In a sense you can say that Iron is my religion, and I pray daily without falter. For you see with each rep i pray and meditate in that moment fully conscious present and aware. Alive in the moment. . .. . . . when I grip my hands around the Olympic barbell, one of the holy sacraments of our religion. I slowly contract it up and watch as the veins tear from my forearms as if snakes were crawling beneath my thin skin trying to break free of the flesh. Then slowly and methodically release the contraction and watch the bar slowly lower to where this moment of epic proportions began and look at my relaxed arm . . . . hanging there, veins like ropes shooting from my outer chest , into my shoulders and crosshatching threw my biceps to meet the restless snakes in my forearms. . . A beautiful thing indeed.
For those that practice this religion you understand this moment, as we each have them. Wether it be the curl, the dead-lift, the squat or the prayer of your choosing. This thought occurred to me today and i thought id share it. Be free of there shackles of this world and enjoy the freedom of the iron bars. Stay vigilant in prayer and all that is asked will be given. The mass will come, the striations will come, and all that is desired will be attainable. All you have to do is walk into the temple of iron and enjoy the service. The lovely preaching of plates and dumbbells being thrown about and slammed against one another. . . . . ahhhh beautiful, melodic if you will. clang, clang, thud preach on. .LET US PRAY!

Thanks man, I will do. I was just thinking after i got back from the doc. It appears im having some pulmonary issues. . .. Seeing as i dont have insurance and wont for the next couple of weeks i cant see a pulmonary expert so he put me on this inhaler which he said would help over time. It sucks struggling to breathe at times, I had a lung xray so its nothing visible but ill figure it out. Ill keep praying to the gods of Iron haha. . . Thank God I lift and dont need wind to do anaerobic weight slamming, i would be dyeing if i were a runner. Its even hard to breathe when im talking or laying down but when i lift it tends to goe away or at least feels somewhat better because im forcing copious amounts of air in .. . . Gotta push through. Thought id get that off my chest.

hope everything comes out okay once you can see the specialist....I had to use one of those inhalers back in 05 after a motorcycle accident....took about 9 weeks for me to be able to use it for a couple of minutes non stop....just do what you have to do, bro....even if that means taking it easy a using less weight for more reps.....just be careful...

DAMN.............. Ardent, You just brought it. Oh my god, i have been waiting for something like this. Wow, someone out there really does feel like I do....wow, Thank God for you Ardent. You are a true blessing, everyday I love praying...for hours...and that Instrument of Sado-massochistic Destruction, That Olympic Bar is my life. I love that cold feeling, and as it warms up with you, as you throw the weight on, and you can feel your hands growing around it, Muscles contracting, blood pumping, sweat flowing...I love that Fucking Bar. IRON is my religion, and I will die by it, whether it be tomorrow, or fifty years on down the road. Finally.... You are the boss my friend, I am honored to fall in rank beside you.

Ardent, my friend- you have found a way. A way to live life in one's mind. Your words are the ones that are in the back of my mind.
Im on my way in five to temple [ if you will ]
and my friend, do I have some praying to do.

14 hour work day. Followed by prayer- My kind of day.

This is what its all for. The water jugs, the egg cartons. The gallons of milk, the lbs of ground beef or frozen chicken breasts. The blender at 5 a.m., the blender at midnight.

I think my neighbors hate you, but I think that theyll never understand.

Be well my brother. By the way - subbed.

Its great after a 14 hour workday something to look forward too. Its a great feeling, sometimes its like everything during the day between work and this that and the other are just obstacles you have to get through to make it to the gym. Then BAM your there in your element ready to tear shit up. Eat and train, ANIMAL>

Oh, for sure man. That long work day can be the perfect amount of gasoline upon that inner fire. I love it, the anger and passion flowing through those veins, those pipes in your arms. Ardent, do you mind me asking what kind of training split you use? if you want you can pm me instead, its up to you. Train and Pray well my brother.

My split as of late has been wraths, mainly because i need something to stick to.
MY main traning splits have been built on instinct. in the past 7 months nothing has been set in stone. I always do 16+ sets for large body parts and 12-16 for smaller ones. Iv been on a 4 day split and have been trying to shred. generally i keep my rep range between 10-12 since im cutting its at 15-20 to chnage it up.

Routines always changing evolving, as the body does. I keep learning and everything changes. Train hard, Eat well.

Every day at least 30 min of cardio
Monday- Chest/Shoulders
Tuesday- Back
Wed-Abs/Double cadrio
Thursday-Legs
Friday-Biceps/Triceps/Calfs
SAT-cardio
Sun-Cardio
Restart

Thanks guys, i get it. You get it. We get it, its Animal. Some dont.
Iv been experimenting with the Anabolic diet, nothing better than after a 2 day carb load hitting the gym and getting a pump like no other. Its ridiculous almost, veins popping out of the traps into the neck even protruding in the forehead. . . so help me i think i got one popping out of my eyelid. Maybe its just me but im shooting for vascularity hardeness and dryness over size at this point. iv never competed but i do aim to. Iv never pushed myself below the 7% mark im eager to get there.

On another note i have a journey in the training section ill just post my shit in here, no reason to jump back and fourth.

On that note the 15-20 reps is murder. Barbell squats at 20 reps is killin me im not used to such high reps but i love that feeling, that intense burn. nothing like limping outa the gym on leg day knowing you fuckin tore it up animal like.

why you doing high reps?

Ardent

why you doing high reps?

Higher reps = Getting shredded for me. In the process of doing higher reps i am burning more calories to aid in the shedding of excess fat. I have also noticed it has shocked my muscles into growth and development as well. IMO it helps with shape and development, of course change is always good to shock muscle into being stimulated. And there you have it good sir my reason for high reps :-)
