Starting to cut now to lower my body fat after to finishing up a bulk in the fall where I went from 280 to 300. Currently sitting at 6'3 290 guessing somewhere near 15% bf. Hope to get near 270 by May and retain muscle mass.

Routine
Mon - Chest/Triceps 45 min Cardio
Tues - Legs
Wed - 45 min Cardio
Thurs - Back/ Biceps
Fri- Off
Sat - Shoulders/Traps 45 min Cardio
Sun - 45 min Cardio

Current Major Lifts
Bench 315 x 5
Sqat 495 x 3
Str Leg DL 335 x 3
DB Military 100 x 7

Trying to stay training heavy and use cardio and eat clean to trim fat.
Any suggestions on cycling carbs, I am considering trying low to no carb
days with moderate carb days. How effective would this be?

The plan seems good so far. About your cycling carbs question, I let you here a little bit of homework to do. A full bag of useful articles about the topic...

One more thing big Ares, a little bit of Mathematic is always need to this stuff.. You hate it? Me too!! But it's a necessary evil, so use this, always useful, calculator to outline what your daily caloric intake needs, this will be based on your goal (i.e maintenance, weight loss, rapid weight loss). http://www.freedieting.com/tools/calorie_calculator.htm

After that, take this daily kcal amount, and plug into this calculator http://www.freedieting.com/tools/nut...calculator.htm to determine macronutrient (carb, protein, fats) needed to hit these totals.

See how you do it bro!!

Keep it up

Karma,
Thank you for the information. Will definitely read up on carb cycling over weekend hopefully beginning next week start to implement a cycling program.
My diet is the biggest obstacle and greatest concern for me, but I will not let it keep me from my goal.

As for training, will keep going intense and heavy, body wil protest but I like to say
"Its only pain"

Another week down
Training went very well this week. Starting to see some noticable results in the mirror. Scale say that I am down 2 lbs.
I am beginning carb cycling with every 3rd day being a no carb day.
Will be interested to see how this will affect my strength on these days.

I am now supplementing with:
Animal Pak
Lipo-6
L-Arginine and L-Orithine
ON Whey Protein
ON MRP for Post workout

Good work brother!! Another 2lbs not to mention noticeable mirror changes is great. Right now, how much protein are you taking in?

Btw, you're a huge mother fucker. I'm at 6'4 220! 16%BF! ...also a congrats :-)

Right now for protein, I get around 350 g per day
2 ON Whey (3 Scoops) Shakes 2 x 75 = 150 g 720 Calories
1 ON Whey MRP (2 Scoops) Shake = 50 g, 300 calories
Rest Comes from food usually ground turkey, chicken, tuna, cottage cheese and eggs
On no carb days will change due to no MRP, I just accept the 9 g of carbs from whey protein

Thanks for the support

Seems good so far bro. just doesn’t avoid the fats; the ratios should be something like this:

No-Carb Day
15% of kcals from Carbs
45% of kcals from Protein
40% of kcals from fats

Low-Carb Day
30% of kcals from Carbs
45% of kcals from Protein
25% of kcals from fats

High-Carb Day
45% of kcals from Carbs
40% of kcals from Protein
15% of kcals from fats

Just Don’t forget:
1 gram of protein = 4 calories
1 gram of carbs = 4 calories
1 gram of fat = 9 calories

Good luck Big Ares and keep it posted

Another week in the books and down another pound. Last week, training wise was lackluster for me, bothered by nagging pains and life outside the gym. Diet has been pretty good, no carb days definitely take getting used to,(never feel full, energy low) but I think they are working.
Try changing up leg day a little today by doing 1 x 20 squat set.

Leg workout today
5 min warmup on bike
Squat Warmup 7 x 225, 7 x 315, 7 x 405 Try 1 x 20 at 375
Str Leg DL 7 x 225 5 x 295, 5 x 315, 5 x 335 225 to failure
Leg Extension 3 set x 7
Calf Raises 3 set x 7 , Light set to failure
