For me personally? I'd have to go with Simmons. (Add Tate for good measure). Going way back, it was Arnold of course, but as I've matured, I've realized power and strength are what I crave and work for, hence, Simmons and Tate.

Dad: Has always grown up believing he was the strongest man in the world. I have seen some of the stuff he is in now and he is still is a giant in my eyes.
Dorian Yates: Screwed up back ground, spent time in Juvie, set his crap straight went on to work.
Anyone: Who bust their ass with family, work, school, finds time to set thier priorties, and still makes it to the gym to become the biggest, baddest, freak in the world.

If I have to pick from your list it would be Mike Mentzer. I consider him to have been a cry baby and a quitter, but his Heavy Duty has evolved into some very good routines becouse of long negatives, rest pause,etc..

Myself, I think Steve Reeves and Arnold were great for bringing bodybuilding to the general public and getting people involved.

So many people have influenced/shaped this sport, but I gotta go with Arnold on this one.

The obvious one is Arnold, but Lee Haney was also a little influential to me. Lately I've been just mixing philosophies from anywhere and everywhere.

My dad: For making me bust my butt ever since I was 4. He would make me do 100 front squats every night before bed with my little sand filled weights. There was always football, wrestling or track to train for. Now that I'm long done with organized sports the habits are long since formed to work hard and push myself.

Anyone: Who bust their ass with family, work, school, finds time to set thier priorties, and still makes it to the gym to become the biggest, baddest, freak in the world.

That's how I feel. Now 30, and I just finished my B.S. degree in December. Wife and 2 kids, church, boy scouts and work fill in the rest of my time.

Training is all I ever want to do and crave doing, and now that I'm done with the school part at least for now I'll be able to workout a bit more. From the time I wake up all I can think about is going to the gym.

I just love the feeling of a nice Pump and workout.

Probably my father, but for different reasons than others have listed here. When I was much younger, I swore to myself I wouldn't be anything like him. Lifting hard and eating with discipline have taught me more about hard work, commitment, and dedication than he was ever able to.

I didn't get to where I am _because_ of my influences, but rather _despite_ them.

Personally, my old man is a lot like Wrath's (from what he's wrote). He works his ass off, in the shit every day from 6-6. He got promoted from construction to a desk job recently, and on his lunch break heads out to the warehouse to help the guys move doors and windows, while his coworkers sit their asses in the cafeteria for an hour. He's a fuckin animal, and I would be a moron to not model myself after him.

Also, the armed forces and those dudes in Iraq. They go through shit that I can only dream about, and when i think that getting stuck on my 15th rep of 405 on squats is rough, i think about my best friend being shot in the chest at age 19 while on riverine patrol 3 years ago. You think you're hardcore? Those guys take that word to another fuckin level.

Not to be self centered or anything but the person that has had the biggest influnece on me and still does is, well... Me. The second biggest influnce for me has to be Frank Mcgrath (aka wrath). He never let this little town hold him back and i damn well wouldnt either.

Yeah I gotta say my Dad, he was strong and very Physical when I was growing up, He introduced me to the movies like Conan and Rocky it was a way for us to bond. So like him and the guys I watched growing up I just wanted to be the strongest Dude on the block, but it goes deeper. These guys were always the Protectors of the weeker, and I always wanted to be that, and now I am.

Strength and Honor

P.S. I know hes not a bodybuilder but I have to give an honorable Mention the Hulkster himself, Hulk Hogen!!!
