How would you get ready for "The World's Strongest Man?" Talk about the exercise and what event it would prepare you for.
practice the same movements they apply.. i don't see a better way

I would focus on the big 3 and on movements that foster functional strength... Pull/push your car up and down the street, sled drags, tire flips. Also work on stuff like power cleans, clean and jerks, etc. These olympic lifts are critical to explosive speed. Remember these events are highly athletic and require brute functional strength as well as speed and agility. Peace, G

Thanks. I was also told to try doing a front carry with sand bags for distance. Can't quite pull the car (no gear to hook to) but I can push. I have the strength and reps but started to neglect the speed. That I have to work on. Again....thanks
check out Marunde Muscle. Great tips and they have a forum dedicated to strongmen with really good training tips, etc.
Youre gonna have to eat more than ever, hahaha.

I have a strong passion for powerlifting and also aspire to compete in strongman competitions. The problem is I have no resources for doing the specific event training stuff. If their is someone from mass on this forum that trains for strongman and knows some connections in mass that would be legit. Thanks guys.

Baor;
Check out the forum over on Marunde Muscle. I know there are a lot of guys up in that area that train strongman. Just ask, they'll get you squared away. If nothing else you could hook up with some of them and train events every couple of weeks. Kevin Nee is from that area, so I know the sport has a following there. Most of those guys welcome others to their sport with open arms. It is definately a no BS zone over there, much like here.
